As someone who has not played Guilty Gear, nor has partaken in the community much, I would like to point out that newcomers to Guilty Gear experience only two portions of the iceberg. The very tip, and the deepest depths. Because, Guilty Gear fans try to show off how hyperbolic the lore is by spouting the most convoluted out-of-context intricacies and getting a laugh out of people's reactions.

11:46 Idk if this was just explained wrong for brevity but uh, no, they didn't just trade eyes so Ky could dragon install. Sin as a little kid/gear was struggling to control his gear powers so they traded an eye in order to weaken his power a bit and yknow, not leave one of them without an eye. This also allowed Sin a bit of freedom as having a human eye meant he only needed to cover up the gear one, which you can see glow when he uses his abilities, just like what happens with the gear eye his father got.

One reason I can think of as to why there's barely any blood in recent GG games is that Japan has a social stigma against depictions of violence against humans, at least from what I've heard. The removal of blood might be for censorship reasons since these games are played in arcades.

O. Sol's Dragon Install Sekkai is a flex like Jam's Tousai Hyakuretsuken. The timing isnt very precise either, you just hit the buttons in the right order as each attack lands as if it were any basic gattling

The Zako-Dan were made for Isuka's GG Boost mode, a beat em up mode. They were the generic mooks you fight, hence their name. There's 6 of them, but only Zako-A, Zako-B, and Zako-C are """playable""". As they were made to be npcs you fight in a beat em up mode, they're missing a lot of features (such as blocking, bursts, backdashing, supers, etc.), though it varies by character. Zako A and the pompadour Zako are sprite edits of Axl, Zako-B and the one with the moustache are sprite edits of Sol, and Zako-C and the female with the eyemask are sprite edits of Millia. There's also a different version of the female Zako wearing the eyemask in the Robo Leopaldon that you have to destroy in one of the bonus minigames you get for finding a warp in Boost mode, though the only difference is that she has sleeves similar to Jam, rather than armbands. Kakusei Sol and Kakusei Ky are also the final bosses for Boost mode (if you play on Normal difficulty or higher, and get a certain score, you actually fight a Giant Robo Ky 2, Robo Ky Substance, after them). They're pretty fun to play as, especially since they have moves that you don't see in any other game.

There should be an update video; Strive has updated the stories of certain characters like Bridget and Faust. Also, Judgement, Leopaldon, & Gig are missing.

the alien also appears in missing link, millia stage, its in the background behind a tree if i recall correctly, you have to double jump to see it.

That ended up being pretty good. Really interesting stuff by the end. I've seen other charts on Guilty Gear with more stuff around (like theories on who S-Ko used to be), I hope those can get videos of more quality by people too.

15:30 I think the reason those characters are referenced in Axl's stage is the because the stage could be a reference to the Fatal Fury team's stage from KoF 98!

Zappa's "stand" is called Raoh, which might also make this a reference to Fist of the North Star.

I can't believe I didn't find this earlier. Around early last year, I also did a Guilty Gear iceberg though kind of... It was more of a Guilty Gear X Blazblue iceberg and looking back, I could of done better but I did predict some stuff in Strive in that iceberg. I do want to do a new Guilty Gear and Blazblue icebergs but separate this time and probably make them bigger too so hope those gets some traction in the future.

I would simply like to say that while testing a bunch of matchups with CPUs in +R I actually got that alien achievement. I was so confused when I got it, and I only now understand what the hell triggered it. I would also like to point out that I only have like 23 hours in the game, so getting it that early by sheer dumb luck without even knowing how to trigger it in the first place is astonishing to me.

This was fun and well done! And the music choices were just excellent Also, based for putting the Bill Clinton thing last, it's so good

Guilty Gear also became my fav fighting game franchise real quick. It's truly amazing, full of style and camp. I love it to death.

A little trivia. In the pc port of guilty gear x, the blood in that game is green. And the dreamcast version has the music flipped for some characters, such has zato having "blue water blue sky" and baiken with "writhe in pain". Oh yea one more thing. The alien easter egg was in the first game

There was also the May Ship anime references in AC & +R. Haven’t seen the former for myself, but it’s apparently a reference to Haruhi. The latter I _have_ seen and is actually one of the reasons I got into GG at all; it’s a reference to Madoka Magica, and a very blatant one at that.

Testament is agender, and has undergone a transition between the events of the games where they were absent

The first GG literally finishes spelling out that Sol is guilty for killing Aria/Justice, not for what other gears did

Bbcf and AC+R got rollback due to fans creating ggpo implementations that arcsys would commission for official updates, along with qol additions. Afaik no such project exists for xrd at this time, but if it did, I can imagine them doing the same thing

As soon as i saw "Guilty gear in L.A./N.Y." i was hoping, nay praying for it to switch to the vocal version because i love the vocal version on existence vs so much i was singing it the entire time. Im glad you didn't disappoint me.

The “guilt” is from killing Aria as Justice in the first game, not from gears in general.

So, Sol could have been in smash because of that Ds game and you can technicaly see Axl in background in smash. Interesting!

For the 3rd encounter achievement, just play as much as you can in Axl AC stage, at random, I dunno the % you will se an alien in the painting or something like that, I got that achievement and thats how I got it, you know normally there is a person painting there but an alien can be appear there

So little thing but isuka was made during the time ASW didn’t have guilty gear. And yes blazblue was made in place of guilty gear. But when they got it back they became their competition. Hence team red and team blue. Red for guilty gear and blue for blazblue. Also Daisuke and his co producer switch roles between the games. It’s something you’d only notice if you read the credits or game details in the details of central fiction.
