Water tanks are not recommended for guinea pigs since it does not provide circulation of air. Plus, you can’t get one big enough to provide proper space for pigs. You need at least 2 guinea pigs and at least a 2x4 or 2x6 c&c cage for proper space.

No. Not enough space and not enough ventilation. The smell of urine and poop can be very strong. Piggies have very sensitive noses and respiratory symptoms. The best cage to get is and C&C Cage (Cubes and Coroplast) Store bought cages are way too small too. Piggies need room to run and popcorn. Pet store cages are not big enough, especially when you put all the cage items inside, and the piggy. I have two females and they live in a 2x4 C&C cage with a 2x2 loft.

How often do you do a ”full clean” of the cages, were you changed to new fleece etc?

Every 3-4 days. Just depends on how soiled the main liners get.

@@oje7257 I currently have 2 sets of liners. Both liners have patterns on both sides. I am limited on space. But the more the better incase you get behind on laundry lol.

New subscriber here! I’m happy to have found your channel :) Question at 3:34: Do your piggies burrow under the flippers? I use fleece, but not flippers because one of my ladies likes to burrow. I have to tuck the top fleece layer under the coroplast or she will get all the piggies burrowing underneath.

Mine have never been interested in getting under the main liner. Sometimes they might try to get under a potty pad, but that is usually when I am short on hidey huts.

TeachersPiggyPets Good to know. I’m getting a sewing machine for Christmas, and I plan to make them some flippers. Did you make all your stuff yourself? I love how nice it all looks, and how well you clean the enclosure when it’s all cleared out.
