today’s video is about guinea pig safe vegetables. Want to know which vegetables are safe to feed your guinea pig? Here's a list of lots of veggies safe for a healthy guinea pig diet :)
I color coded the veggies. Green means very safe and yellow means safe but still needs some attention. Some watery veggies, such as lettuce, could cause stomach problems if they are fed in huge quantities or your guinea pigs aren’t used to it, however, I listed them as green as I’m sure you all introduce all veggies slowly :) This isn’t a comprehensive list of all vegetables out there but I tried to include all vegetables that I feed my guinea pigs or have heard of.

Thank you Little Adventures this Chanel has been a major help for me and my little piggies!! I have had them for a month now and they both love their cage and items that you recommended for piggies!! I am so happy I came across this Channel because it is so helpful and always pleases me I have tried so many veggies and they love them all I give them lettuce parcly and cucumber daily I love this channel it has been amazing for the piggies all of these tops have worked so well and my piggies looove pea flakes 😂 because of this channel my guinea pigs are tame already and trust me I can basically do anything with my piggies!! Its important to peel both cucumbers and zucchini because the grocery stores put a little wax on the outer coatings. This coating upsets the piggy's stomach

i ususally only stick with romaine lettuce, should I switch to red and green leaf? will too much calcium cause stones? And as far as broccoli, I've heard it can cause gas in piggies?

Sorry if this comment is too late. I only feed my guinea pigs red and green leaf lettuce. Too much Calcium may cause bladder stones. Romaine lettuce may be totally fine and not cause any issues, but I prefer to stay on the safe side. Broccoli can cause stomach upsets, but as long as you don't overfeed you should be fine. Again, I'm sorry if this comment is too late.

Yep its been ok for a while now but after additional research we still avoid it due to the calcium content and give them Red Lettuce and Escarole instead

NeZ CooL it is called rumble-strutting! it is a sign that your guinea pig is annoyed and wants to be left alone. it is completely normal though and every pig does it.

That's not right. There are different types of purrs. Some are for dominance displays or fear, but if it happens whenever you pet her it is likely a happiness purr. Listen to clips of different guinea pig noises and their meanings and learn how your piggie communicates

You don't really have to chop up celery into small bits like that. I do it so my piggies won't fight over who gets it, but their teeth are incredibly strong. If they couldn't chew down celery strands there's no way they would be eating hay! Bell peppers are also ok to give the entire pepper. The seeds are my piggies favorite part! They often vacuum them up right from the palm of my hand. As long as you're not giving them larger seeds (like the pumpkin) it's not an issue for them to eat.

Sometimes parasites like hanging out in the seed so often people don’t feed them .

E.J.M. Productions Owners chop up celery because a piggy can choke. Seeds also have a choking hazard and may be toxic.

Actually you do want to cut the celery, its to remove the strings which are hard to digest.

Hi I have just found white spots on my two girl pigs cage! Please help! My pigs have too much calcium in their diet and I don't know where I've gone wrong. I feed meadow hay and a small amount of wheat twizzy farm and oats in the morning with 1 cup cucmber/bell pepper/lettuce and sometimes grapes In the evening I feed the same amount of vegetables with 1/4 cup of burgess excel? Are any of these things high in calcium please let me know?!

No that is high in calcium so I don't feed alfalfa but meadow hay is fine. So I don't know what's wrong with my pigs. 😧😧

My piggies love dandelion leaves. When I put them in their outside fence in Summer, they mow the lawn and weed it too. I have to move the fence every few days so they have fresh greens to eat.

i know you can feed them a lot of fruit and veggies, but my GP's that i used to own when i was a kid seemed quite happy with a diet of pellets, lettuce, cucumbers, carrots and apples. of course a ton of water too to wash things down all day. best pets ever and so easy to look after !
