Thank you for uploading this. My mother has dementia and Alzheimers. She adores guinea pigs. When I show her these videos, her face lights up, and she baby talks to them as if the guinea-pig was right there with her.
At one point I had an older girl named Scout and a younger named Noriko. I was worried about putting them together at first, but they got along right away -- one day I came in, saw Scout sit up and wash, then sit back down and Noriko mimicked her. It was adorable.
One of my pigs recently had 3 babies and it was amazing to see the babies learn how to drink water from the bottle at 6 weeks old by watching the older pigs and how to clean themselves etc all by observation
Guinea pigs are truly odd animals. They can be very stressful, or very stress relieving. Sadly, my friend owned a guinea pig, and choked it, drowned it, spanked it, and spat on it. I adopted her, to stop this. She's still scared, but very cute if your patient
Smooth-haired guinea pigs will often groom themselves in this manner, but you should brush them at least once a week. Rough-haired and long-haired breeds need to be brushed every day in order to avoid tangles and untidy coats
I've had a guinea pig who often made noises like that when he was cleaning. I think the noise at 0:14 was just a sneeze. I know my guinea pig often did while cleaning himself.
That's so cute! What makes it even cuter is my hamster cleans himself exactly like that so it's funny to see a larger animal do the same thing! Beautiful piggy though!
@nightpool23 definitely the opening of a fridge door and a plastic bag sound and they go off, I cant ignore it cause they know Ive brought veg or fruit for them.. I agree they are not stupid..
@SteveSpicerPortsmuth Dude guinea pigs do more than that, they are good beginner pets to show how much resposibility it is to take care of a bigger pet. Most people think that cats and dogs need to live is just food and water, but they also need to be groomed, cleaned, exercised, and raised. Some people don't have these traits, like my brother for example, he feeds and gives his dogs water, but he keeps them outside on the small back porch where they shit everywhere.Guinea pigs do have a purpose
