Dude, bathing a guinea pig once a week is pure torture. Guinea pigs don´t need bath cause they are very clean and the owner should keep the cages clean. I won´t call you an expert when you say you bath them once a week. I´d call you an ignorant.

You can bathe them when needed with the right shampoo. It's regular baths they don't need and can harm them.

Just so people know,it's good to bath them about every 2 ½ months,as this prevents them being smelly,which helps to an overall cleaner environment (no flies etc)x

Jessica Prior that is complete and utter nonsense. You don't need to bath your guinnea pigs unless they had diarrhea as stated before. If your pigs are smelly you need to clean their enclosure more often!!! Also the bigger the enclosure the less work is needed. Guinea pigs should have 1 squaremeter per male and half a squaremeter per female as the minimum space requirement and at least 1,50m on one long side for them to run. Additional time outside of their cage is well appreciated. And have at least one house or hide per pig. They should be close enough together that the piggies can see the next chance to hide easily from their current place. Also groups of 3 or more are best for them to show their natural behaviour. No less than 2 piggies period. And guinea pigs are not petting animals. They don't like it generally. Some of them will enjoy a little bit of it but it should never be forced. On the other hand a healthcheck should be done once a week where you weigh them, check their skin, eyes and genital region as well as their feet and cut their nails if needed. Especially documenting their weight is important because they don't show signs of sickness until its too late in many cases. Seeing their weight decrease over a period of time can give you a hint that something is wrong and take them to the vet for a check up early!

My boys like to play forts w/ their pillows. & Love their tunnels. They don't bother w/ any other toys unless they're trying to rip up something or fight over it. Even tho they got the same amount of toys for each.

Mila is so damn right. One of my guineas came from a family with cats and the kids thought it would be a fabulous idea to put the cat in the guinea’s cage - same story. Ever had a traumatized animal? This is what I got. The guinea pig in the clip tries to escape the nearby cat without triggering the predator instincts. Guineas hate to have body contact, even with others of the same species and of courses getting licked by a killer.

My piggies going back home is 😍. I missed their excitement. Gah, poor fluff balls aged a bit. Some things still don't entirely change tho. Like my hairiest one trying to chase after the other through tunnels is like yeah, that worked out smoothly. Not. Poor fatty (im kidding. Hes not. Just full of hair) takes tunnels w/ him. All like hold up man. I got stuck. Again. Whiskers: u never know how to play right, foo. Hmm 🤔They don't nibble as much anymore... they just run up to me more often... & give kisses and hide 🤔🤷‍♀️... dem my furry baby boys.
