To avoid issues with masking tape on bearing one need to join ends of tape with angle to the bearing main axes (doesn't help with overlapping, but it easier to avoid, imho). Like scarf joint for neck head. Nevertheless, this trick must be constantly re-checked as router has crazy high rpm - thus it could fly away...

Very comprehensive. Thanks a lot! Do you factor in the thickness of the glue line before cutting the channels? (the glue line that will hold the binding to the body)
