Dick is a good friend and just played here in Southern Oregon on Dec 17th 2010. He did an acoustical set with his son Jimmy Dale and it was an amazing show.
What he's at Guitar Center and they didn't hook him up with a reverb pedal for the first song... I find it hard to believe there is no reverb pedal at Guitar Center for the King of the Surf Guitar
@@Thoracius yeap, his reverb is a one of kind Fender Reverb unit. He nicked the reverb from a Hammond organ, brought it Leo, and he made it valve powered standalone unit.
Never heard of this musician until recently. But, Dick Dale was the King of Surf. His music was one of a kind. I could listen and watch music videos of himself and his band Nitro.
Dick Dale is probably not the musician anyone should watch to learn how to play the guitar. I'm not sure if Dick knew how to even play the guitar. He just rocked on the guitar. When Dick rocked the rock rolled.
@@Tuukkis I know what Dick achieved. It's nothing to be envious about either. The guy died in poverty and obscurity. Even Dick didn't want to be Dick. But he got up every day and rocked out anyways. Because he had to.
@@1pcfred He lived in poverty thanks to the bitchy ex wife who took everything from him. Before that, he had a mansion and dozens of animals including lions as pets. Dude is a living legend. I just wished more people knew him because he is an important piece in music history.
@@Tuukkis one thing Dick isn't anymore is living. He died a few years ago. His heyday was quite some time ago now and fame naturally fades with the passage of time.
