Great video awesome demo Something I tried though which was a bit crazy and fun (for a hard blues rock guitarist anyway) was putting the phaser between my distortions and fuzz and kick all three on it just goes crazy mad sounding and I honestly recommend it.

Great video mate, very helpful and clear. Can you say a fiew words about power supplies? I know it's probably common thing, but I'm kinda new in amps and pedals and sort of confused about..are they noisy.. is it better using just batteries, power bricks, adapters? Cheers !

Good video, I basically think along the same pattern that you do with pedal order, which makes alot of sense. ALTHOUGH people can investigate on their own to find which sounds better for them. But oddly enough, there is a more correct way, and a less correct way of a set up with pedals... take care.

Line boost at the front creates more distortion. Boost at the end tends to keep the signal a bit cleaner.

Boost is better in the effects loop...same as chorus, flanger, and EQ. I use my EQ for a boost in the effects loop. There's a considerate boost when using the EQ in the effects loop.

the only thing i do different is ,well recently at least, is putting my boost grande before the wah , i figure since its just bumping the db's it doesn't affect the wah tone and really lets you dig into the way when you run them together, but other than that i ran my setup just like yours for years

Great video, I wanted to tell you that I read an article about tuners sucking tone when in line, and I did what they suggested and gained atleast one notch in volume and so much more clarity, so the suggestion was to A/B the tuner and it works great...Tnx hope this helps.

Well, despite Overdrive/Distortion pedals, I have a Chorus, a Delay, a Vibrato, an Equalizer, a Vibrato and a Reverb pedal. I'll probably get a Wah someday as well. What order would you recommend? Thank you!

Great video! This probably makes me quite messy, but I treat wiring order and placement as two totally different things. The order of my board is not reflective of the signal chain, but rather of what needs easiest access (bottom row) and what generally gets left alone for longer (top row).

I put the wah before my tuner even..that just my preference though.

I have a the mxr 10 band eq ... im guessing that would go between the wah and any OD/Dis pedals?

Is it a big deal if I do the wah first,then the tuner? I like a battery in the wah, so I like to unplug it, and thus leave it off the board on the right.. I have five spots on my one spot,six pedals,so rather than extending my daisy chain, I use a battery in the wah, as long as the wah is off, should it be okay putting it before the tuner?

I have a Behringer nr300 and a Boss distorion mt-2. Those don't get "used" until after I send the signal from my guitar to my vox mini amp which has an onboard line clean tone simulator as well as a variety of effects. It is outputted through a hybrid am I made of a penvy and a vox miniamp(it's just louder), not to sure about model type, all I have to go off is that it's stamp on there that says KB/A 15. any advice on how to use these to it's best?

whats your opinion if i have both screamin blues and bad monkey? i only use 3 pedal now, Screaming blues --> Boss ds-2 --> mooer 5 band eq.... but i like the bad monkey tone... so i probably getting one this week and my chain will be SB>DS-2>Mooer>BM... the reason i put my BM after EQ is i like the original tone lol.... whats your opinion?

so I got about ten pedals and just got the cs12 1 spot power supply no questions on order but I'm not sure what pedals are powered by the 100mA or the ones that are powered into the 250mA how do i figure this out???? thanks in advance

i put my tube screamer through the fx loop with low gain settings and it turned my crunch channel into a beastly distortion, cuts through the mix superb it.s a set it and forget it situation, then to boost i have the sd1 for boosting solos, my lead channel has become obsolete whereas before this unorthadox set upmy crunch was horrble. modulation fx dont really behave through my amp tsl60 head, don't know why but they just don't work well if at all. ????

I have a Joyo American and a Joyo California on my board. Are they considered distortion pedals, a preamp pedal, a guitar amp sim? I guess what I'm asking is where would those go on your pedalboard setup? I should add that my board is set up to go direct into PA. My current order - as I await the return of my Strat from 920D Custom - is to run it into a new Fender Level Set Buffer > Joyo JF-10 Dyna Comp > Joyo Roll Boost > this is where I wonder if the Joyo American & California should go, or because these are acting as my amp sims, they should go at the end of the chain (or somewhere else) > Tone City Sweet Cream > ISP Decimator Mini > TC Electronic Nova Delay > Tone City Reverb > A/DA GCS-2 Cab Sim > PA ..... Or since the Joyo American & Joyo California could be considered NOT distortion pedals, should they go somewhere else? I truly enjoy your reviews and appreciate any input you give. Thanks!

I have my delay before my reverb because my reverb has stereo outs and I love playing with two amps in stereo. I need a stereo delay and find the best place for my amp simulator.

Question: I have a Boss ME 70 Multi effect board and I wanted to add a pedal board stump with in this order: a Ibanez tube, boss blues drive, Ultra chorus, TC Flashback X4,echo machine, reverb machine.Should I put plug my guitar to the Boss ME first?

I would also put the tuner in bypass and put a volume right after because then I can mute the signal but the tuner still gets it without killing any tone....

Only thing I do different is put the Tremelo at the start. I tried it after the overdrives, but couldn't get it to sound good. Saw other people using it at the start so tried it, and thought it was better (more of a "Blue on Black" sound). It's a Marshall Vibrotrem if anyones interested :)

A good thing todo is have 2 wah pedals, 1 before drive and 1 after.. then you can pick what you feel like when you like. Mini wahs are good for board real estate.

I've got a Fulltone Mini-Deja Vibe and Fulltone says it should go right after the wah pedal. Don't put it in the effects loop. It will lose all the volume it has even with the effects loop at full blast. Try it you'll like it :-)

I have see up my pedal board In the same pattern as you show. I have a Dunlop Crybaby wah which no matter where I place it, causes a loud hiss. Is this normal? I have tried using different cables to no avail. Thank you. PS: this also happens when I attach my Boss RC3 which puts off a lot of hiss. By itself, no hiss. Appreciate any advice. (I use Fender & Vox amps)

Thank you for the video..my two cents here...after years of testing i prefer distortion first then wah...then tremolo then delay and reverb last. Never be afraid to do your own experimentations and make some mess..you will learn that way..let your ears decide.

I'm soooo confused somebody help okay I got amp behind me a great orange cr120 it has an effects loop so cord in effects loop runs to my new berhinger pb1000 pedal board then from there starting on the left from my pedal board I go into a ditto looper is that the first pedal or last cause everybody else board seems to start from the right

The problem is that if I put my wah (Ibanez WH10) before my drive pedals, I can't hear my wah when I turn it on and if I put my wah after my drive pedals it sounds like crap... Any suggestions ?

I can say with my Crybaby I get a MASSIVE sound difference when it's before or after my Big Muff. It's fun to play with either way, but after it makes it pretty extreme.

Have you tried a smart gate or is it feedback??? If it's feedback then step away from your amp
