Back in the mid 80’s I sold my 70’s Marshall plexi with the half stack angled cab for 500 bucks because I didn’t use it and it was freaking LOUD dimed out where it needed to be. And I had gotten married ….. still married to her so yea I miss that but I’m glad she’s still with me. And we have been through some tuff times together throughout the years but mainly great times, wouldn’t have it any other way. We are grandparents now, retired, life is good.

I sold a couple of Peavey Wolfgang Standards I regret selling both were Pat Pending but life happened and I needed to take care of the family. Almost all of the gear I regret selling was because of life events and needing to provide for the family. At the end of the day hey are only objects and replaceable where family is not.🤘😎🎸🏍

A marshall tripple super lead full stack , a 1980 gibson les paul custom black, a martin 00015 all hog , 2 limited edition Taylors a 6 and a 12 string with engleman spruce tops and sapele back and sides, a 214c.e. , a couple amps and guitars.I used to set the marshall up as a half stack and pre amp it with my little rock man and my crybaby , I really miss that

Lol that’s what happened to my stuff- a woman who is LONG gone. Had the Steinberger, mini marshal stack, marshal “Gov’ner” pedal, Boss delay and chorus…. I couldn’t play a damn thing but wow I looked cool 😎 (At least I thought I did)

My regret list!!! 72 Gibson Les Paul Custom. The best playing sounding guitar I've ever had. Two Gibson E2 Explorers a late 70s or Early 80s Ibanez Artist. A 85 Gibson 335 dot neck and a 67 reissue V. American G&L strat type guitar. This was 13 years ago and I still hurt over selling these guitars. I made a nice profit on everything but the G&L broke even on that. Our Boxer got into some antifreeze and the vet bill was crazy!!!! Still regret selling everthing.

Regrets.... I got rid of a Super Fuzz pedal I got rid of an acoustic 12 string. I got rid of a Fender Precision bass. I didn't make any money on them. Happy I sent that icky flying V 6-12 double neck down the road. Traded it to a pair of 4x12 cabinets that I use daily. Lesson learned: don't get rid of your gear!

My biggest regret was selling my (1995 issued FENDER 1952 Tele Reissue in Butterscotch Blonde) it literally stayed in its case for just over a year after I purchased it from GC. Life throws curveballs at you at strangest times, I had just met my fiance soon to be wife, and we needed a downpayment on our first home. That was the only guitar I was "willing" to part with at the time, I think about it everyday. They paid me out half of what I paid for it!! I look at prices today, I'd never be able to touch another one. Great topic Marty, but it brought a tear to my eye, I appreciate your honesty.

Glad i got rid of Earth Sound Research stack. The head weighed a ton when gigging. Aria Pro II that looked like a Randy Rhoads shark fin V. Total turd. Regrets: Electra LP copy cream white post lawsuit. I sold it to a fellow Navy Seabee who said it was later stolen from his packout when he got orders to a new base. That was a great guitar. Mid 80's Hamer Vector custom paint order and hardware. I ordered it with a Kahler and the ball ends would shift in their cradles causing tuning problems. Still I should have kept it and they go for crazy money now.

Oh, by the way, that custom PRS you demo’d a few days ago??? Well mine is coming from Sweetwater, same exact guitar except it has the zebra cover pickups instead of all black. It will be here Monday, I’ve also preordered the PRS Mark Tremonti MT100 100-watt Tube Amplifier Head. Something to add to the collection the grandkids will inherit one day.

@@Ranch5150SkinWalker I got to pick the exact guitar from 4 and it is almost exactly the same as the one you demoed. It had the most curls out of the 4, they sent me pictures of it before shipping. Absolutely beautiful guitar. For the house here in the living room I have a little 12watt orange amp that’s sounds really good for a little amp. But out in my cabin is all the wet dry wet rack rig 3cab 4-12 EVH with the EVH stealth 6l6 5150-iii amp head and guitars. That’s where I go when I want to aggravate the neighbors lol. We are in the design phase of building a professional recording studio. The building will be 36’x40’ with live room big enough to record a full band, control room, vocal booth, lounge, mechanical room with fridge and cabinets and storage then finally a small bathroom. But I got to move the cabin first so we are working with a cement contractor to pour a slab, then I will have the little cabin moved over by the local storage building guys that move them around with a little walk behind machine, I will wire it back up, then we can start on the foundation of the studio. It will have a double wall system throughout. My son in law records and has a small studio but we are both out of room in our current cabins. We have Midas stage boxes and behringer wing with apple studio max running Logic Pro x with Adams audio A8H’s dsp monitors. I have rack units of effects that we can use as outboards. Bunch of plugins on the DAW. To much stuff to list. Hopefully by spring time we will be in full operation. When we do I will video it and tag you.

Regret selling a white 1999 American Deluxe Ash body Telecaster with tortoise pickguard and tortoise binding. Had a Seymour Duncan tele stack pickup in bridge and Gibson 490 R in neck, Played and sounded great and the ash woodgrain had a bluish gray tint to it that showed through the paint. It also had a very unique wood grain on the back of the headstock around the tuning keys that was very cool. I asked the guy to check back with me first if he ever wanted to sell it. I saw it on eBay about 15 months later but wasn't able to get her back.

Cool video. The only guitar I regret letting go of was a Martin.. I think it was a Guitar Center MMV, but I didn't know what it was until I'd traded it off. All I know is that it said Custom in the soundhole and it had rosewood back and sides. Anyway, I traded it for a mahogony Martin D16GT, which is a good guitar. I got into the D16s because they have a little less depth, which is good for skinny folks like me. lol.. I eventually got a rosewood D16E, which is pretty cool, but I don't know that it's as good as the MMV, tone-wise.. probably because of the difference in depth.

Never should have gotten rid of: 1985 Kramer Focus 1000 in Candy Apple Red, 1982 Ibanez Destroyer II in Blue.. Glad I got rid of: PRS S2 Custom 24 (just don't like the sound of PRS pickups), Fender Stratocaster, Boss Katana MKII Artist (I just don't have the patience to play around with the software to try and find a tone I like).

This is a fun topic, as everyone has something they think of. My regret: selling a 1990 Les Paul Studio with gold hardware. I wish I still has that guitar. But the only consolation is that I traded it in for a 1991 Les Paul 1960 Classic, which I still have!

I had a new Ibanez RG570 back in 1990. It was my first "real" guitar because the other were a Hondo and a Kramer with body made of Plywood. I wanted to put a clear pick guard on it like Steve Vai but the guy who worked on it did a bad job. I could have removed the it but it still had the holes from the screws. I couldn't even look at it. I sold it for $300. I bought it for $600 few months earlier. few years later I regretted selling it. Now you will regret selling that Kramer 84 in the future.

Lost my job a little less than 20 years ago and with two little ones to take care of, I sold my Peavey Wolfgang Custom Deluxe in trans red. Man I miss that guitar. It was however the only piece of gear I ever made money on when I sold it because EVH was on the outs with Peavey around that time and people were buying them up like crazy. I DON’T Miss the MusicYo Kramer I bought a couple years later on the rebound, what a tiny piece of junk that thing was.

I haven't really gotten rid of much, most off the amps and guitars that I no longer have are with my son's. But I did have a 50 watt Ampeg head that I let my oldest son talk me into selling to his buddy he was in a band with. I'd given my son a 5150 half stack that was my main amp because I'd decided to down size to a mesa boogie combo, which made more sense, I played in bars. So did see the use in keeping the ampeg. I also sold a Echo plex that was one of the original tape delays, I don't remember what year I got it but bought it new out side of Dallas at a little music store. That's before any kinda pedal delays were on the market. That's one I should have kept.

I traded my original 5150 block letter heads and slant cab. The first edition before EV sued PEAVEY and they had to trade it. My god that amp was phenomenal. I was getting into acoustic playing at the time and got a really nice Ovation and a pretty impressive acoustic amp that I can't recall the brand or model of. Such a stupid move. I was 24. At 53 looking back I realize the head alone is worth more than the Ovarion, case, Amp, amp case etc. so stupid.

When I was 15 in the mid 80s my father bought me a 1968 gibson sg with a tremolo arm mahogany brown. The guitar had a bit of ware and tare and needed a bit of work done with the frets. So rather than get the work done I traded it for a 1983 red Tokai goldstar strat 6 months later. I loved the Tokai but I realised the value of the sg a few years later and did have regrets.

@Ranch5150SkinWalker yes man. I was a silly wee boy and still hate myself for it. My father knew that I was into Angus Young and AC-DC at the time and got me it for my 15th birthday. I know that he paid £350 for it then, about 600 usd at that time. I even remember taking it into school one day to show it off. But the fret board needed redone and a new set of tunners and I didn't know anyone at that time that could do it, so I traded it in for the Tokai. It was only a few years later that I realised what a stupid mistake I had made.
