I cut my teeth on my brother's brand new 1960 Jazzmaster! I'm just up from Orlando ... That gold equipped, P-90 loaded Paul is absolutely gorgeous!

The non-reverse Custom Firebird, white w/gold hardware at 4:05, that would be the one for me - were I to have $4k kicking around ;-)

Cool. Just inspired me to find a way to get to the Dallas Guitar show - need to figure out if they let randoms like me in there. Also, never fun to have to keep tuning a guitar you're trying out. I would certainly hope those shops put on fresh strings and make sure the ones they bring are intonated and in tune.

I was there on day 1 of the show; sorry I missed you guys! So much fun, even for a lefty like myself! I passed on a nice SG in favor of a Frankenstein bass that had a sticker that read "Mutant". How could I resist?

I almost bought an early 1965 Jazzmaster (L plate) for about 3 grand in 2018. At the last minute, the acquaintance who was selling it changed his mind. Now I'll probably never be able to afford one 😞 It played and sounded so good too! Damn I'm bummed

BUT there are gems in these hills of the musical adventures and refinement of styles of American music. I was salivating as you made your way through the show, but not depressed about my inability to afford one of these vintage axes, instead it makes me appreciate the cost to value ratio of my Squier Tele. Who knows, it may bring in 100x what I paid for it in another 50 years - lol.

I like Gibsons and Fenders that are less than ten years old myself. Very reasonable and play as good as the vintage guitars. The only way I'd buy a vintage guitar is as an investment.

That was an excellent show. I loved seeing all the cool guitars and amps. Is there much negotiating at shows like this, or is the sticker price the only price? That was a 9 out 10 episode (-1 for referring to yourself in the 3rd person)

Beautiful 6120, but double retail? Yikes! Makes me wanna run down to the shop where I have my 58 country gentleman(second batch) on consignment and up the price from 10 to 20k :)

Two guitars stood out for me. That JP (Jimmy page) ‘07 les Paul for $9500, & the best looking of the bunch, the red es335 is the classic color but to me, there’s nothing more beautiful than a walnut Gibby es335 @ $5999.

Southside Guitars in Brooklyn has some nice gear but now they do not allow customers to walk in and play all the guitars you see like they did pre-pandemic. They have changed to an appointment only model like some of the guitar stores in the area. You make an appointment and you tell them which guitars you would like to see and they bring them out to the front of the store which they have allotted for customers, one at a time. Terrible business model but Music Zoo is doing the same. I wonder if other guitar stores are doing this or if its just in New York?

Cream City Music is from Milwaukee, my hometown. They've gotten real big in the last 10 years or so. Kind of monopolized the vintage used guitar market.

I’m surprised you weren’t told to “turn it down” while strumming the rosewood Henderson.

I have a problem with the playing too loud issue. How are you supposed to know what an amp sounds like unless you turn it up? But yeah, you and Baxter need to Krank up the Brownie Bandmaster. Show them you still ROCK!!! I want to add that this video made me want to touch myself in ways that many would consider impure. And tell Sean that I called him a couple of days ago just before closing time about getting three of those Runway Guitar Cables, but I never got the email about where to send the funds. Probably thinking about offsets.

i hesitate on buying any brand new 2-2500$ guitar, however, going to that show with about 7k to spend, yep there are so many amazing cool guitar choices, why get the murphy or the private stock when all these great old guitars are really affordable, and was there even a prs on the vid?

Funny to see Izzy's in the video, until now he was just some reverb seller that responds to messages in a wholly inappropriate way, reading some nasty intent where there was none. Hope his people skills were better in person.
