I dont really understand what everyone means when they say 'soul'. What is 'soul', how do you measure it? This guy is clearly into what he is playing, so why would people say he has no soul in his playing?

He is young... All of you think that all gutar players are complete at a younguer age? I like the sound. We neeed more guys doing this. We need more young people taking risk and showing what they have to show. One guy in Brazil likes your show. Congratulations.

i can't believe some of the comments i'm reading here. "talent wasted on this song", "browse youtube and you'll see the world and his wife can shred". you can all fuck off, this guy is ripping out some epic licks and arpeggios like few others can. and not only are they impressive with speed and accuracy but they are composed with amazing note selection as well. i don't have a single bad word for this man, i could watch him all night.

@Gitaristsatch You can't be more wrong. This guy plays all types of music. He tends to do more Metal b/c thats where his heart is at. ( I personally know him.)

This guy's got something.....I agree with the missing of a little blues like touch....but he's got something........and he's from Gutemala ! Pride to Latin America ! ....Nevertheless, a little bit more of Guatemala on it would be cool to... I mean, this was already old stuff in the USA at the end of the 80's !!!

the black thing he slides at the second fret gives the man clean arpeggios, its like an additional palm to hold strings so if they are accidentally picked, it wont vibrate and make sounds.. he's good really..

I agree with this also. I love metal, and played metal first thing when I really started learning. I then turned around and went to blues, and came BACK to metal. I'm starting to do so now. Personally I don't like this guy's playing, but I can respect it.

I cant tell if this could be good, because there's no backing. Without a present accomplaint harmony (Chordal work) he could just be playing fiddle. The drums and bass are basically not even needed, he doesn't really adhere to much consistency in rhythm, but he does play clearly.

Most of these guys need some lessons on their vibrato technique. Their notes never sing! They are just notes! I do love shred and fast guitar, but you have to know when to let the guitar breathe and let the notes sing!

Ehm... I agree with Jagshemasher. This guy plays like a maniac, no doubt about that, but I will forget this tune as soon I open the next video. On the other side, players like David Gilmour or Jerry Cantrell cause eargasms with a single note or chord, because they have incredible feel for the instrument. I see you're 16 and full of spunk, but remember this: Most metalheads start to play blues when they get older, and very few bluesmen start to play metal. Watch your language and cool down, kid.

They were many who tapped and phrased in guitar idol 2009... Like muris, he tapped wonderfull but no damper... But anyway, I dont have anything agaisnt it or something like that...

No sounds more like Guthrie Govan or Andy James.He has the same exact picking style like Guthrie and he tucks the pick between the crook of his index finger when tapping, Just like Guthrie.He also uses alot of string skipping and tapped arpeggios just like Andy James.The only thing that makes him sound like petrucci is his tone and the fact he ripped off one of petrucci's riffs for this song.He also sounds a bit like Steve Vai.

nah he doesnt tuck like guthrie... his hand looks like it but not really, i dont even think this guy had listened to guthrie yet, otherwise he wouldnt had copied john petruccis playing.. its more than obvious this guys just imitating petrucci.

interesting, cause it looked to like he was doing some pretty damn fast 5 string and really fast 3 string sweeps, but yeah u can find everyone doing it NOT not this clean... though why would someone who calls anything played fast on guitar a shred see that ...
