Guitar lesson 1 of 9. How to play blues scales. (how to guitar solo)
How to play position one of the A minor pentatonic blues scales.
This is how to play the first position of the 5 blues scales.

Yes . . that would work. Remember though that any improvisation backing tracks should also be 'G' based . . 🙂🙂

I searched for something like 10 minutes for this video, as your "bringing it together" video referenced learned all the positions, but did not have an imbedded link pointing to those videos. Perhaps... This video would be better named "how to play the blues scale in first position"? Just an idea.

Ive watched so many videos on what scales are and how to play them, but they never tell me how to use them. I know so much about this stuff, but i cant put together a melody, or chord progression, or anything that sounds decent. I know how good of a teacher you are from the fingerpicking series, but do you think this series can get how to compose a song through my thick skull? Thanks in advance

The reason you can't find any videos on this is because it's an entire course. To understand how to use scales correctly you have to start by understanding some theory, like key signatures and chord structure. I will do a course on this eventually but I can only do one course at a time so it's going to be a while. 🤔

Should I know little theory before going through the series? Just to know why picking that particular note.

It's not that important. I tend to teach people the other way around. Learn to play the notes first so you can play the guitar and then learn the theory afterwards so you can understand what you are playing . . 🙂

I want to make lots more videos, but unfortunately it doesn't pay enough, so I have to keep teaching and it's a pain having to keep stopping and starting with the filming. . . . It's a real complement that you bought the course in 2005 and you still enjoy learning guitar and I love that you are in India . . wow, the world is small when you get on the internet. 😊😃

You deserve that compliment cos nothing really ever came close to your fantastic multimedia courses they were ahead of their time both with production and content! Yes I am an Indian, but I love them 60s British Blues and BlueRock acts, Esp John Mayall, Peter Green and Cream, Gary Moore and Rory Gallagher I adore...and I love American Blues, Country, SouthernRock and some FolkRock too.
