Every time I tried to learn how to play it, my attempts lasted for a couple of weeks and each time ended up with with a feeling of complete uselessness. But after I watched your video I decided to pick my guitar again. And guess what... After 10 years of failed attempts I can finally play one popular song from start to finish. Actually, you can. Hotel Cali is considered a legendary song to learn, so learning that essentially means you can learn any particular song given you have the time. I know that this reply is later than a stereotypical modern kid to curfew.

for a 67 year old novice who recently learnt a few OPEN chords and a couple of easy fav songs was able to follow this lesson ALL the way through (badly and stop and starty) but with some practice I know I could nail it in time. what an awesome teacher. Thank you sooo much :-)

Today I sat down from 1200 hrs till 1515 hrs and learnt the intro part of it by repeating the whole intro again and again. I always wanted to learn the intro part of this song but never got a hang of it,though I always played the chords of the song and today I'm so happy to learn the intro part of it ! Though it sounds like the into while I play ,it doesn't sound very clean right now but , I can practice it everyday till every string sounds nice and clear. The best sounding parts of the intro are the finger shifting from A string to E string while playing E, then the hammer-on while playing G and lastly the slide from 2 to 4 and back while paying Em.These sound so awesome ! No words are enough to thank you for this lesson but thanks a lot once again !
