I bet the difference between playing the 6-7 or bending the 6th fret on the 6th string during the prechorus has to do with layering guitars. He probably wrote it as a bend, but played it chromatically on the recording to keep the pitches closer together for layering. The middle finger is basically right there to bend that sharp 4 up to a 5th without moving the other fingers very far from the D5. His riffs were never unwieldy like the official tab shows.
Hi Ryan , how are you? How do you think these guys made up these riffs and then made them sound so good. Just like Morello's riffs and Chris made the melodies and lyrics so I believe Chris Cornell was the musical genius of all the bands he was in. You know some people talk about Kim like he's so good but Everytime I hear one of his solos they don't even sound good. Sorry to lay all this on you but I couldn't talk to my dog about it. ha
One day when you decide to teach us Slaves and Bulldozers can you please spend extra minut to explain Kim's intro riff from 1992 Bremerton Lollapalooza version... Live versions can varie in some concerts so why is this special...I don't know you tell... And when you decide to do it make sure you definitely fell the weight of what you're about to attempt 😃

I have quite a lot of experience on this kind of music... Low strings drop d metod but Im just stuck on the first part of the... the "give up to greed..." parts. I watch you and this other guy in plaid shirt... watch the tabs and I just don't know if it's all the same. If I listen to the studio version I think I'm getting how it's done but even then it's like the fifth version... (you, other guy and two tab sites are the other four). I probably should just go with my own way but I just don't get what I'm missing.
Are you referring to the East Beast of the West Beast? At first i thought the east was best and the west was worse, but then i took a look from west to east and found i liked the beast on the east beach least.
