Let's be real here for a second: yeah he is using pedals to get the sound but have you guitar players forgotten that they're just tool. Listen and watch closely or have you forgotten what that was like when you first started learning? Get a sense of his timing and rhythm, his techniques, and more importantly how he simply isn't playing but creating something. It's not all technical. People forget too easily that playing an instrument looses all purpose when the player doesn't add something of their self to what they do. And that goes for anything in life. So be real: this guy is phenomenal and if you could do half of what he can then congrats. Be proud of yourself but stay humble and learn even more.
I've been rocking every guitar I could get my hands on and in my humble opinion. This card was a genius many guitarists are perfectionists to a fault. its in our nature.this fellow may be using effects most of us do unless your frigging tommy emanuelle so this man wrote music here that I've just discovered and will be playing for years to come on Sunday mornings with sir Elton and esperanza Spalding thank you very much
Very well written, and those tattoos are something else. Creativity lives in our minds and can only be presented to the world through people like this, it's nice to know there's people in the world who haven't forgotten that.
I closed my eyes and as I listened, I could picture an underwater world full of life and color, the sounds of whalesong and dolphins singing, bubbles coming out of air pockets, and I was a passerby watching this world float past me, man. This was magical.
Alot of people don't realize that playing super clean and precise (like he is doing here) takes waaaay more skill than "shredding" a million notes per second! RIP Ryogen
When he started to hold the guitar.. Feels like his body, music, soul, guitar fuse together to create some magical or something amazing when u close ur eyes.. Thid guy is a legend..
Ryogen, he died on 18th September 2017 for a cancer. He had been fought against the cancer in during last few years. As you can see from this performance, he was a young, very talented guitarist and a musician. I hope many people will remember this artist, and the performance as much as possible. R.I.P
This one of those pieces where you lie down, close your eyes, and let your mind wonder and escape the world. A beautiful piece of music, takes a good musician to create something with complex techniques, takes a great one to create a piece of music which captivates people. Loved it

Just to let you people know, this young man, who just loved playing the guitar and didn't hesitate at all to share with the world what he's got, died of cancer. If you have time to be sarcastic, use that time to go out there and express yourselves and show the world what you have, because while some may criticize you, there are also others waiting for that gift you have!
Well, I suppose no information on this is provided in English. It's on his official twitter in Japanese. Other musicians and artists who worked with him have talked about it on their websites, tool, so it seems to be very true that he passed away...sadly...as far as I consider all those articles in Japanese.
A guy, musician, like no other. So sad he is gone and his unique and beautiful music. I come back here often, close my eyes and fly through limitless space of the sky, surrounded by Ryogen's sounds.
Such a listened musician. It's our loss that he isn't among us any more. His music is lovely. If really doesn't matter what tool you use, his music is lovely. Respect to you bother.
A stirring performance. Those cosmic sonic sounds with those guitar chords. Crying guitar strings. A beautiful balance. All the visuals, including Rogen’s tattoo work help attract to the performance. Bare foot on those pedals. Sensational work.
He really immerses himself in his music, very complex sound effects skillfully performed to sound like bubbles of water rising and animal sounds, the man is brilliant. R.I.P. Ryogen, lost before your time.
The reason most people love music , pick up and play instruments/sing and learn music is because of the "joy" . Watching the visuals crafted toward the vision of the music and istening to the music here was a very Ecstatic and Joyful experience. Thank you Ryogen
Imagine being at this performance; sitting there watching, listening and feeling this music... no words in a RU-vid comment could describe this... 凄い、お疲れ様。どうもありがとう、Ryogen-San
I'm a solo violinist.....that means I have no problem playing in the sympony among many other things.....and I bash,....when I see to much ego and no talent.....when I see faking....I give credit when it's earned.....but music goes in levels, just like,e school,or karate...?so ,you are where you are.....practice your scales,arpegos,excersize,studies,caprice,Bach.....and the pieces will come .....learn exactly what's on the page ,after that you can make stuff up.....find out what level you are in the sylibus....and go from there...and dedicate everything you do to Jesus....
real musician can bash too... real musician use everything and instrument and any sounds has value. Even bashing. just not all te time like in punk :) be precise or else you show you dont know anything about music
Expressing his "uniqueness"...being in the moment....being who he is, doing what he loves...how beautiful is that! May we all learn, that it is ok to be "who we are"..no judgement...simply loving the being! Thankyou!
I could tell this piece is the creation of creativeness - artistically played music . The sound will take you somewhere when u close your eyes and feel the melody, u will imagine you’re with nature. One of the most amazing things ive heard in my entire life!! Kudos to this artist!
Me too . I like YANNI, BACH, Himekami, until I heard his music, I was deeply impressed by him, his music transcends the shackles of classical and religion, and involves the most fundamental things, just like miracles!
Absolutely Amazing!! The most BEAUTIFUL pieces of guitar music I have heard in a long time!!!!! I wish i could have heard of him in his living years!!! Bravo,Bravo!!! Ryogen May you Live on and Rest In Piece!!!...... xo
I saw this performance 5 years ago maybe 6.....im still listening and i can't still figure out all tbe notes .,.. better then tim hension...this is hard......
Beautiful ! Cool soundscape. For me personally. . . . .I just enjoy something that is pleasant to my ears . How the sound was achieved isn't all that important. The visuals are cool as well, and simply a bonus.
What talent. I can see that he has a beautiful heart through his music. What a happy and light melody almost like he's showing us that there really is indeed is a "next place" We will all one day reach this point.
Renzo San Juan The use of pedals requires skills? Jesus christ dude he used the same passive effects for the entire song. The reason no other guitarists are up there is because most musicians primary goal and proof of their accomplishments comes about through recognition from OTHER MUSICIANS. Not to mention this is literally shameful to the artist. It is a gimmick, and as an artist it is belittling to pretend that this is somehow performance art worthy, thus most guitarists would have far too much pride to play this in front of an audience. And like 90% of them could play it if they invested 2 hours of their time.
I know that it isn't that difficult at all. The point I'm making is that he is an artist. His main act may not be the guitar playing but the performance itself. The lighting, body paint, just the whole atmosphere. That's all I'm trying to say, my friend. Enjoy everything else if the guitar playing isn't pleasing you
He's ok. There are many musicians around the world who play on the street and because of their environment ppl don't give them the time of day and just overlook their talent. It's more about how you market music nowadays rather than how you make it unfortunately.
if a meal is awful...but the person next to you wants seconds what does that mean? let me guess the person next to you has awful taste huh????? yours is superior? let me guess cause you've cooked food before you know more about taste???
