Gruens and Carters are meccas to guitar players. I stop there any time I pass through Nashville. Bought a Cole-Clark Fat Lady II 12 string at Gruens.

They’re handmade guitars but they’re also mass produced. That’s why there are flaws here and there. If you want absolute perfection go find a small builder who isn’t mass producing guitars. I love Gibson guitars personally. But if you’re looking for nonstop absolute perfection find another brand. Gibson isn’t for you. There’s a clear reason Gibson is sought after and preferred by so many. If you are the type to single out every single flaw from a hand made guitar, find a smaller brand who produces less guitars

I agree. The Japanese stuff is better. I saw on a show that Japanese don’t like poor craftsmanship. Maybe that has something to do with it.

That is definitely something that is part of Japanese culture for sure. Of course there are always exceptions, but generally speaking that is true.

They also work for fraction of the price as American workers. It’s a give and take. People bash on Gibson for prices but it’s American made by hand every single time.
