I think it's safe to say this isn't typical of a Dirty Loops video. "Work Shit Out", "Follow the Light" (with Cory Wong) would be more representative of their stuff, well worth a listen. 😀
Yes, this is the one and only Henrik Linder who’s featured on Scott’s Bass Lesson’s channel more than once. And whilst this track here is a send-up of all things 80s glam rock (see his splits at the end and his four arms and those crazy solos) Dirty Loops have never been about pure shredding. Rather about their phenomenal musicianship and songwriting craft, their ingenious mixing of genres, as well as top notch mastery of their instruments. Diving a little more into their catalog, you’ll find Henrik being one of the nastiest Bass Gods out there currently, whether he’s laying down the funkiest or jazziest or grooviest bass line. Check out any of their tracks, they’re all equally phenomenal. “Follow the Light”, “Rock You”, “Next to You” or “World on Fire” might be good ones to start with. I’d be here for anything Dirty Loops! ☺️
Since i discovered Dirty Loops i live vicariously through those now fortunate to experience them for their first time - you have a treasure trove to dig into, no guitar - but something for any music lover off the beaten path Looked a little surprised - but do carry on!
Yes! This is this Henrik Linder from the movie, from the Scott's Bass Lessons channel. The film has the title: "Play Slap Bass Like A Beast ... with Henrik Linder of Dirty Loops" and "The Henrik Linder Interview: The Secret of Dirty Loops" 🤩🥰
No guitar player but they have done an album with Cory Wong. This song is very atypical (thus far) for Dirty Loops who are known for jazz/pop/funk fusion, but I personally love this 80's rock vibe. Check out Rock You, Follow the Light, Work Shit Out, Next to You. 3 of the baddest musicians on the planet imho, jazz and classically trained.
Dig deeper is all I will say. Many beleive that this song is 50% parody of multiple eras/artists. If you watch more of DL, you'll find silliness and 'not taking theirselves too seriously' a common vibe. But they are all top-level jazz-trained and very very deep. Not to mention, they caught attention of folks like David Foster & Quincy Jones
Why don't you reach further down the "rabbit hole" and listen to songs from the beginning? DL got known on the internet, some 10-12 years ago, for there ability to take a tune and completely rearrange it. Check out J. Beibers "Baby", B.Spears "Cirkus" L.Gaga "Just Dance" move on to "Thriller" Follow the Light" "Turbo" "Rings of Saturn"!😁
I don’t think they have ever done a song that was similar to anything else they have ever done… Yeah, stunningly talented players playing way over the top… Henrik rarely uses effects but this whole song was a musical joke about the overkill of effects… and he rocked it…
Yes, you're right. The bassist was featured in Scott's Bass Lessons. You should definitely check their other songs like, Follow the light, rock you, thriller, next to you, and many more!
