I was at one point led to believe (and took it at face value) that this had been played *every* time LOVEBITES had performed live. I decided to check, and it’s not strictly true. However there is no official live video (of which, in different forms, there are six) that doesn’t include it, and it’s being played on the current tour. Fans think of “We the United” as their Lovebites anthem, but the ladies most definitely must think this song is their own anthem. Always played with gusto and full on enthusiasm.
Thanks for another Lovebites reaction :0). This is one of their first songs, and was released as their first MV in early 2017. I think it is one of their favorites to perform. For 'Guitar Solo Reactions' Lovebites must be a treat -- with multiple solos of all description in each and every song. Hope you are enjoying this as much as I'm enjoying your Reactions.
When LOVEBITES first started performing live, they distributed demonstration CDs to people in the music industry. The CDs caught the attention of Victor's staff, and the band decided to make their major label debut with the "LOVEBITES EP" just six months after their first stage performance. Dont Bite the Dust" was a song on their debut EP, and the music video was uploaded before their debut. At the time of their debut, Miyako (guitar/keyboards) went by the name Mi-Ya and was a support guitarist, so her guitar solos were understated.
Yeah, I agree that this song has a more classic rock feel to it. It's pretty straightforward by their standards, but there is nothing wrong with that. Just a fun track with some catchy riffs.

I love their versatility and the way Miyako incorporates the melodies in her solo, usually in the slower stuff. There's a lot of attention to detail in the songwriting and, imo, each note serves a purpose. Sometimes I'll listen to a song for the umpteenth time and pick up something new.
Great reaction Brian. This piece is their very first EP. This song opened their way to the world. They always look so happy to play this piece and play this almost in every show. They must love this song as their special piece.

"Epilogue"→"Don't Bite The Dust" In the setlist of this concert, the song just before this song was "Epilogue", so it was a song to re-energize the atmosphere of the venue once it had almost quieted down. I think it is a very good set list. And I think Asami is such a great front man for a heavy metal band that no one would guess that Asami comes from an R&B background.
Yeah China town was a great album, I still have the vinyl I bought when it came out some where .. Maiden, Priest, Lizzy and Nazareth were my favorites back then, this new wave of Japanese female rock and metal has really stured something inside me musically that has been lost for so many years.. it's a great time to be alive.
