@@HurtboxTV Music theory is how "everybody" understands music, how music would be defined in a textbook or shared between hundreds of people, but as long as the music makes sense to you, that's all you need to play.

I feel like this theme got the short end of the stick. It's the longest theme next to Ram's at 6 minutes which means you will probably never hear that last minute in an actual match.

Its probably for the best. Its a jam and I totally love that last minute, but it is NOT a song I want a tense fast paced match to loll. I’m cool with saving that for the lab.

You'd literally have to time out every round, and get double KOs to add extra rounds for it to be POSSIBLE to get that far in the song in normal matches

Love the way this song tells the story of Zato. He can't feel anything anymore after being brought back but there is that light of the love he had for Millia, even if its faint.

They just need to get rid of the wack intro and it would be great without fault. Idk why they took the emotional ending and decided to tack on the beginning, while muffled, as the guitar is just kinda meandering without purpose. Regardless of what I said, I'm still screaming "VANISH IN THE DARK" when I'm actually in match because I actually do like the song.

I don't think Daisuke ever recorded the guitar parts. Possibly for the first GG, but from X and XX onward, there are session players credited in the OSTs. They get really great players to play on the ArcSys OSTs. Xrd and Strive has the lead guitarist from ALHAMBRA (JP powermetal band).

People overestimate how edgy Zato is. The whole series kinda hangs on that tone, but there hasn't been a true edgelord character until Happy Chaos, who is the WHOLE PACKAGE and then some. Edit: I forgot about Raven, who was also very much an edgelord.

I love that the Queen break also plays at the very beginning under the drums, but it's purposefully muffled. It's just kind of awesome to have it come back around at the end in full clarity.

This song took a bit to grow on me since it's a bit jank and uneven in the beginning with the asymmetric drums and such but I like it a lot now. Also, at this point I think they did the bad previews on purpose just to blindside all of us with how great the songs actually are. It seems Daisuke really went all out to experiment this time and I honestly like the guts it takes to do that. Thanks for giving some insight in the guitars and melodies again, it helps a ton to enjoy the songs more.

This is definitely not a song you can fully appreciate on the first listen. There's just so many moving parts to it that it can be overwhelming. Song has definitely grown on me and it's up there with Alone Infection and Find Your One Way for my favorites in the game.

I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE. The beginning of the song is just so offputting, the vocals, piano and guitar sound so unbalanced, it actually gives me a headache, not even joking, it feels like the song wants me to listen to the piano and the vocals but the guitar just does whatever, its like listening to two songs, when I first listened to it I thought I had the same tab open twice.

I legit think this is zatos best theme. It has his whole life on a track from his vast changes in life, losing his eyes and then dying and being possessed by Eddie to the very end where he’s beginning to feel again. I really like the end Queen bit. I could imagine like spirit holding the last part of the song with the whole “I’m a shadow always with you” part. So for me it really hits hard. From a production standpoint I will call it the best track on the ost.

I love your videos cause you play these character's past themes and then go on to analyze and play through the songs, which is a lot easier to understand than the usual music theory mumbo jumbo that most music reaction channels do. I don't play guitar, but the way you pick up and play along is absolutely amazing.

If you pay attention to it, the previews or at least most of them are the chorus of the theme. Sol's = strike back get them out of your way Ky's = so what do i have to fear, under the sacred fires May= swallow, so that's me non stop love song Etc etc Maybe it was Daisuke's decision to use the choruses of each song

So i've been listening to the absolute EVERYLOVING CRAP out of the Strive soundtrack. Fellow musician and guitar player. This is probably my favorite song. I didn't like it at first, I'll admit. I think this is probably one of the only songs on this OST where I'm like "please keep the vocals in" and the chorus... Oh my lord. Every time I hear "VANISH INTO " and the guitar just kicks in on the "DAAAAAARRRK!"... Chills. I was chillin in the living room with my wife the other day watching Strive memes. This came on and I legit started headbanging in the middle of the room. LOL It's just so good. Edit: I love the fact that Zato's theme is as complicated as playing his character is. You're like, "I gotta actually practice this one" LOL It's super fitting for the man. I cannot play him to save my life. Edit x2: yeah no every time I hear "VANISH INTO DAAAARK!" I have to sing it. Same with the entire ending. It's sooooo good dude. "I once... had some... suUHWEEeeEEEt memories."

Zatos theme has become my favorite theme in the game. Although the Strive sound track preview also mislead me with Leo's theme. I thought it was gonna be like this folksy shanty thing. But I was fooled! Still a rocking song though.

I know some people will chock up those who defend this track as being great as people who just blindly like experimental music, labeling them as pretentious elitist who think anything that goes against the grain of music composition is automatically good; but those who would view it that way are really missing out on what makes this song great. Those with dissenting opinions of this theme call it messy but a song that utilizes reincorpoaration the way this track does is far from lacking cohesion. There is a legitimate structure to this track; that's the exact opposite of messy.
