The Steven Wilson albums with Guthrie Govan were very good. Steven's songwriting and Guthrie's incredible playing. Their collaboration was never going to last but I think they worked well together.
just listened the song you reccomended to me and it was also really touching. no one prepares you for those feelings when you have kids, right? and now i have seen you coming back to steven wilson with yet another sad masterpiece. both song and music video hit me hard and brought me straight back in time to when my accident happened. we were on our way back home from a short vacation, my parents, my sisters and me. my father was driving through the night on a rainy dark alley when a truck hit us and pushed the car off the streets. the car overturned a couple of times, the truckdriver did a hit- and-run. my parents were unconcious, my little sister got out of the car with some minor injuries and called for help. my twin sister and i were trapped in the wreck, unable to move. all i could reach was her hand and i could feel life running out of her. it took about half an hour until the rescue team arrived. while they were aproaching, the car started to burn. after that i have just a very blurred memory. i was in coma for two month, for my sister help came too late. it took years to recover, to relearn to speak and all those things and life hasn't been the same eversince. but don't worry. i am alive and happy, but it took a while to accept fate. i think on their way home they had a car accident and his wive or girlfriend died and he is left in a wheelchair. as time passes he is still having problems to deal with it, so he writes letter after letter to her. it's painful for me to watch this video. it really is. his talent to make such emotional dense music and videos is one of a kind, i really appreciate it. I am so sorry for your loss Soley, If I was there I would give a big old bear hug. Sometimes I wonder how we can cope with all those tragedies that happen to us throughout our lives. It sometimes seems unescapable. But we dop survive, we carry our scars but we are still here. You and I both found our Alyosha, we found a little hope and that let us live with our pain.
