....sometimes..if you're an artists you'll ask to yourself,"what's the purpose of drawing this...? why am I do this..?" while you glance at your hand

This song truly shows a world of an artist. I absolutley love drawing, and I keep improving myself, but why? What am I doing this for? I am a perfectionist. I will never be satisfied with my work, and want to keep improving. I also don't want to draw for others. I always hide my work, but most people have seen how I draw and just compliment me. That's all. I haven't acomplished anything.

I go to an art school and I'm always being praised for my artwork but this song made me realize "why am I drawing? For what purpose?" O.O I need to have a a moment and rethink everything.....

My Dad is an artist and I inherit his talent, so I am expected to follow his path. I did start drawing and painting as a little kid because I thought it was fun, but as I'm getting older, I don't know what to feel about it anymore. It all feels very neutral, perhaps too neutral, like just a normal part of my life. Heck, I don't even know if I'm genuinely loving it anymore or just wants the attention I was born with to last.

I may not be able to draw worth a shit, but my writing ability is absolutely incredible. This song can definitely be applicable to writing as well as almost anything else. I often wonder to myself, "What are my intentions?" Do I want to express some great, world-moving ideal? Do I want to be able to support myself financially? Do I want to be praised and respected by friends and professionals alike? Or do I simply enjoy writing and take pride in the refuge I create? There is no clear answer and it can be quite frustrating.

Today I got praised,yesterday,my life,ect. for my painting and pastels when I found this song it made me think of the meaning of true drawing and a real artist

Everyone else in comments having either life changing epiphanies or egocentric spiels and i'm just sitting here listening to music like a normal human being.

I love to draw so much since I want to get better and improve until it is absolute perfection. Although the people I try to keep up with are twice my age I still have something in my head that says I can't wait I must achieve my dreams early since life is short. I also draw a lot because when I'm upset I like to draw something to cheer me up but it also makes me fustrated if the drawing looks terrible as well. Also, it's true that artists want compliments, I want my art to be noticed but compliments make me believe I can do things :)

How oddly fitting that this song fits the current landscape of artists and content creators.

To those who may be suffering under the 'why', perhaps go back to the day when you started, and find that 'thing' again, that made you start in the first place. (: Wishing you the best..! -another lost artist ♥

This is so relatable for me. I am really good at every subject in school and my friends and family praise me for it, so I just kept on trying to keep the praise going but now I don't even know what I want to be

To anyone who doesn't know why they draw/paint/whatever, let me offer a suggestion: maybe you like drawing or painting or what ever it is

"I began to draw just to be praised." Haha, I'm a bit ashamed, but this is me sometimes.

As someone who draw, I can kinda relate to this

I can't draw or do anything that I consider art and my talents are only useful for practical use I'd most likely be top of my class if I cared for any of it (I know I'm in the top 10 of my grade without trying, not sure about the whole school) but there's always the possibility everyone else might just be an idiot I want to be able to be proud of myself and not end up working at a job that would inevitably destroy my enthusiasm for anything I want to be able to make a living off of some form of art And since I fail at most art related things the only thing I can think of is writing, but the problem with that is everytime I've truly been happy and enjoyed writing a paper I get a bad grade That could just have been because I give a narrator to a research paper and not just any narrator I give him his own personality usually a personality to express myself and what I think of the paper I don't understand why I can't have a narrator, it makes my paper unique, memorable, and what I believe to be entertaining

News flash: People might say your art looks nice, but that doesn't mean it actually does. They might either be trying to say something nice so you don't get sad or it's just a "this is better than a stick figure so it's good" kind of thing. Self-deprecation is healthier than saying it's great cause one person did. /rant

I've been listening to this song since buzzG released it but it wasn't until two days ago that I noticed at 3:09 you can see in his eyes of hands around a neck. Does he have his hands around another's neck? Or maybe it's the 'other self/you' mentioned just before that has them around his neck judging by his expression, the 'blood', and following said quote. And how does this relate to his supernatural drawing 0:50 and why he views his life as a farce 2:43? Perhaps the CD will have more insight
