It’s so so GORGEOUS. Thank you so so much!! I’ve copied this tutorial for a previous order I had last year. I have another order coming up and I remembered this tutorial. It’s so helpful!!🙏🏼❤️
I am so happy to hear you have been able to use the tutorial and it has come in useful to you to create your own butterflies. I really loved making these 🦋
Thank you! I love your Voice it's so soothing , very detailed explanation but without the fuss hence I watched from start to end (I usually get easily bored from other tutorials lol)
Thanks! I just popping in to see how to color my wired gum paste butterfly wings, and am thrilled with all this information!! Now I know just what to do....
Una clienta me pidió este PO astel hace 5 meses y no sabia que existía este tutorial, lo hice con imagenes de hoja de arroz y me quedo muy parecido, hermoso trabajo😊 felicidades
Thank you so much Sophie. I am so glad you like them. I loved this cake, it was so simple with just the butterflies but they looked so pretty fluttering around the cake.
Amazing simply amazing. You're a true cake artist. I saw a co-caker of yours also do butterflies but your tutorial was so much easier for me to follow. I also prefer your butterfly cutters. The one thing she did have that I liked was black stamens that came that way from the company. Is it better or safer to use white then color them black? I really do love your tutorials much better though. Keep on caking.
Hi Lorraine, Thank you so much for your message, you are so kind. I am so glad you like them. In terms of the stamen I didn't have any black ones to hand when I made these which is why I coloured them black, but you can definitely use pre-coloured ones which does make it easier and a little less messy, but I always tend to buy white ones, so I can colour them whatever colour I need when I make gumpaste flowers. x x
And also... The different shades of blue lustre dust... Can you use blue powder food colour instead? Coz I have NO idea where to get blue lustre dust...😪😪
Hi Shahida, Gumpaste is a little bit different in that it dries alot harder than fondant and can be rolled alot thinner, so is used for modelling and making flowers. If you are using fondant for the butterflies you can add a little bit of tylose powder which will help it dry harder. I hope this helps.
Yes you can definitely use a blue paint also. If you are using food gel I would mix with a little alcohol or dipping solution to create an edible paint. The alcohol will evaporate and allow the food gel to dry alot easier.
Thank you so much Cortney. I am so glad you like it. I agree, I think having the two styles of butterflies so they look like they are either flying or sitting on the cake really makes them look like they are flying around.
These are flower stamens, used for sugar flowers. The stamen is the very center of the flower and she’s just snipped off the very top because making them with just wire and a teensey piece of fondant is a lot of work lol
