Hi and welcome back to my kitchen. I think roses are so pretty to add to birthday or wedding cakes and this week I have been making gumpaste flowers to add to a wedding cake, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to show you how I make my David Austin Sugar Rose.
This tutorial gives you a step by step guide, showing you all the tools you will need and how to put the rose together with its frilly center.
As a guide to refer back to the rose is made up of:
5 center buds - Each with 5 petals each (smallest size)
Row 1 - 5 petals (middle size)
Row 2 - 6 petals (middle size)
Row 3 - 6 petals (largest size)
Row 4 - 7 petals (largest size)
