Truly saddened to report, I've seen two YT videos of Canadian gun owners talking about this ban, saying how stupid it is blah blah...but also stated that if police come to their door or it isn't resolved by the deadline, they're turning theirs in cause "it's the law". Honestly makes me cry to hear people say that crap. And I've no respect for them for that

Often times Canadian's would be consistently entranced by the current events and politics down south; but are clueless when it comes to politics of our own home. Especially when it comes to the discussion of gun rights, they immediately scream "This is Canada, not America! Don't compare the two!" Do you see the irony? No, he issued a statement that it not their intent, so therefore they're not banned. But a judge is in not going to care what they did or didn't want to ban, he'll look at the law/reg as it's written, unfortunately.

@@burny6666 You don't lose your healthcare, you pay for your own health insurance by your own free will, just like In Canada, except the relationship between you and that insurance is not forced. I'm fine with socialized healthcare because otherwise, inevitably the poor will go without . However I'll add my own anecdotal. I'm in Nova Scotia and I haven't had a family doctor in years, last time I checked the province was unable to provide me with one due to our socialized healthcare "crisis". Also, The last time I visited the emergency room I'd been grinding and something ricochet off my cheek, under my glasses and into my eye. After waiting about 6 hours I just left and went to an eye doctor/surgeon, she easily plucked it out it in I'd say under 15 minutes. I wound up paying $150... It's not a big deal and I'm not complaining, AND still I am pro socialized health care, but it's also not a magical black and white.. Good health care leans heavily on a strong economy no matter which way you slice it. Besides that, the government begins to frown upon risk taking and you get more safety legislation, the excuse is that your risk places a burden on health care. You you lose freedom as you're chained to that health care. You hide from the government and pray to avoid fines when you shingle your roof because you don't want to double the time, aggravation, and cost by having you and your buddies tangled around each other in harnesses/ropes dragging fresh tar all over the place wearing hard hats in the +30*C sun because the sky might fall. For example. While the guy who called the safety dick on you waddles down the sidewalk at 350lbs sipping a giant fat boy syrup soda on his way to vote for more socialism. My risk bad, your risk fine I guess? Some of us are very tolerant of socialism, but don't want to lose the ability to pump the brakes because history shows, things do tend to get a little crazy. Which is why for some, Free Speech and Gun rights are sacred.

Thanks for spreading the word! I didn't know there was a second petition. I have now signed it, I will not support the NFA for their attacks on another organization(CCFR). We should all be working together. Yesterday, I added a $100 donation to CCFR. It will be an expensive fight and everything should donate someone to ensure that funding is not the cause of this lawsuit getting dropped.

I have signed both the petitions but honestly they don`t give a crap about those. I will be joining CCFR and donating as well. thanks for the info I just bought my first pistol 2 days ago before they ban those as well. 2 things I don`t understand why we are not hearing about, 1 drafting a claim of right on property and having it notarized giving them 30 days notice to stop infringing on my rights to property in my charter of rights. 2 why is nobody talking about why people use military grade anything? duh because it takes abuse and still works. i have military battery clamps on my car battery, does that make them dangerous ? last but by no means least, why is nobody from the hunting community standing up and pointing out the differences in these rifles. I remember a time when you would hear about hunters being gored by deer and elk or mauled by bears or charged by moose. why don`t you hear about that anymore? because of modern semi auto rifles. try and reload that bolt action while being charged by a 600 pound bear doing 30 mph while you back up on very uneven ground after winging him in the shoulder. god help you if in your nervous actions doing this the bolt comes free. HUNTERS WILL START DYING AGAIN.

All 12 and 10 gauge shotguns manufactured to saami spec are prohibited actually.. -Any firearm with a bore diameter of 20 mm or greater - other than one designed exclusively for the purpose of neutralizing explosive devices” The firearms act defines bore as the portion of the barrel in which the projectile passes through. Any portion of the bore 20mm or over will then cause that firearm to be deemed prohibited. The forcing cone bore is part of the overall bore as per definition. The CFP recently “clarified” that shotgun bore is measured as a point after the chamber but before the choke. In a 3” 12 gauge the chamber specs from SAAMI state that the chamber must be 3” long and have a diameter of 20.269mm at the point in which the chamber meets the forcing cone bore. The forcing cone bore is not considered part of the chamber but instead is considered part of the overall bore as it is a portion of the barrel that the shot column passes through. SAAMI spec states all 12 gauge shotgun barrels are to have an inside diameter of 20.269mm at the point in which the chamber meets the legally defined bore therefore all 12 gauge shotguns made to industry standard are over 20mm and prohibited. 10 gauge shotgun barrels are to have an inside diameter of 21.361mm at the junction of chamber and legally defined bore therefore all 10 gauge shotguns made to industry standard are over 20mm and prohibited. Furthermore SAAMI allows for .51mm of overbore in regards to the portion of bore after the forcing cone and before the choke, standard SAAMI spec for 10 gauge bore diameter after the forcing cone is 19.69mm-20.2mm meaning that forcing cone bore aside there are still 10 gauges manufactured within SAAMI specs whose bore is over 20mm. The only thing Bill Blair has clarified is that he’s incompetent.

Not a Canadian here. But I did think of a way to fight this. The so called " gun buyback " by what measure are they pricing the guns? If it's market value then it's going to be very expensive as the guns go up in value as they become fewer of them for sale. And as none are for sale by gov law then the price of each one is sky high, what with very high demand and no supply. If it's by the price the owner puts on it then I'd say my gun is worth 100 million to me and every round is worth a thousand each. For using anything else in pricing it's not 'buying' anything in any way that "buying" is defined, it's just theft. Also if I can't say no deal and walk away from the sale it's not a sale it's just robbery. And it is my property and it was legal when I bought it.

I think a point to bring up is even if you are liberal and don't like firearms you should still stand against the process that this happened. What is to say a conservative gets into office next time and does the same thing to something liberals find near and dear to their hearts. All of Canada should stand against the process in which this ban occurred. Unless you like having dictators in office, then do nothing.

Have signed petitions over the years and nothing positive has come of them. You just get infuriating canned BS replies from MPs politely stating that they are right, they're going ahead, and to hell with your views however valid, logical, and sound they might be. There's also the concern that by signing a petition you just give the government the names and numbers of everyone who disagrees so that they can more easily persecute them later.
