Gun Roast: Polenar's Terrible AK 

It doesn't launch the gas block downrange when it fires, so it's still not the worst custom AK Ian has shown us...

Props for maintaining character in one take, including shotgunning that beverage and belching at the beginning.

This is what true friendship looks like, when you love each other enough to say what you really think of their custom builds.

I feel like "really ridiculous compensator" applies to more on this build than just that muzzle attachment.

Fun fact: there is not a single Zenitco component on that rifle!

Ian’s ability to just deadpan as he tears your rifle to shreds is hilarious. I was totally not expecting the “snapped off” line😂😂😂😂.

“Proper Yugoslavic Bubba” is a top tier phrase that Ian absolutely has to use more often.

Ian would've needed Monster energy to properly understand the glory of that Zigas rifle.

That was awesome. After watching Tim from MAC together with Jiga and the others from Polenar, now I see this funny trully Polenar style video, featuring Ian. That says a lot about these nice guys doing firearms videos on YT. Congrats to all of you. The next thing that it would make me choke because of too much laughing would be Ian parcticing grip clamp C.

I heard Žiga tried to donate that to Ukraine but they said, "Nah, we're OK thanks".

The fact that he did this with a straight face just shows Ian's professionalism!!!!!

I think it's just forward thinking on Ziga's part - make it heavier so it handles recoil better, and gives him a workout just carrying it around. Brilliant. ("Oh, and the stock fell off" ... better than having the front fall off.)

Could be worse, like that cursed Krinkov parts kit AK where the gas block launched downrange upon firing, or the M70 parts kit AK that was on Brandon's channel where someone used a standard 80% stamped AK lower, beat it into place with a ball peen hammer around the front trunion/front end assembly of an M70 parts kit, then used hardware screws, bolts and nuts to "hold" it together.

The best thing is that the whole time I thought this was a Forgotten Weapons video, and only when I scrolled down to the comments did I realize it was on the Polenar channel, so I was like wow Ian that's uncharacteristically bitter... oh wait, its a joke.

Ian was half joking, his points are mostly valid. A bare bones AK or AR with a decently light optics setup is pretty handy dandy.

Magic…awesome…. So, basically this adheres to the “There is no overkill, there is only order every accessory know to Man and then get another credit card” theory of firearms accessorizing. There should be a smoothly maker or an espresso press for battlefield refueling, as well.

Hahahahahahahaha! Ziga is a madman, you didn't pull any punches there Ian, love it! Also, Zastava has some awesome stuff that would be better supplementation for some of the Zentico parts that aren't up to snuff for the M70 (like the fore-end rail system).

Unrelated anecdote: I used to laugh at people covering up rails because it "cuts" their hands. I am a blue-collar man, my palms are leather and I love the look of bare Picatinny, I don't need covers. Fast forward to me practicing moving and shooting. I misjudged the distance I needed to clear a door and the rail hit the frame parallel-y. The rail sections dug in to my hand and took off some of my skin. I still don't cover my rails but I now understand why people do it. Also invested in some nice gloves.

Come on! This gun rocks! What do you know about guns anyway? I’ll bet Brandon would absolutely love this! Nobody makes light rifles anymore. The scope is deliberately loose to prevent damage in recoil, the Marines did this on their M1907 sniper rifles. Sheesh. 5 4 3 2 1 ….

Hey now those newer TWS doglegs are actually great. My friend has one in his SLR-104. Consistent hits on standard IPSC out to 400 meters. We haven't taken it any further but in comparison to my RS Regulate side rail I would say it's much easier to service the gun with the TWS. That being said you do lose your standard rear sight with the TWS. The only serious practical reason I could see one wanting a TWS or any other railed dust cover, over any other mounting solution is for a side folder. That way you can have your stock/brace folded with your optic installed. Only solution for us side rail guys is the Magpul Zhukov.

You see, this is training aid! If you can quickly and accurately neutralize targets with this extra weight and parts, you can do so much quicker with stock AK in real combat!!

What's really funny is being an M70, if it has a bulged trunnion, its already quite heavy for an AK from the factory.
