Self Defense when a gun is pointed at you is not easy by any means. Having some strategies to deal with such an attack could save your life. #selfdefense #martialarts #selfdefence #gunviolence #attack #gundefense #staycalm #streetsafety
@@garyrodgers2740 uhh yeah, but there are always strings attached... it summons more people like him who want to take my money. And the circle continues 😂
I used to drill this all the time with friends. started using airsoft guns and told them to shoot as soon as they saw me move. I've got about a 95% success rate with this type of disarm during training with active resistance. the other 5% they were able to pull the weapon back to their chest and fire before I was able to connect with both of my hands. that being said, don't do this unless you're certain you're going to be shot anyway. it's better to give them whatever they want and just try to escape
He's saying ideally the head because its a smaller target to hit then center mass so less likely to be hit if he pulls the trigger when you make the move. Its the best case in an unlikely way to survive scenario. But if you arent close enough to the person to make this maneuver then your best bet it to comply and hope for the best or another opportunity to arise.
@@marksalza1114 Yes sir. My comment was frivolous. Your suggestion is more realistic and sensible. I just hope we don't ever have to be in this situation at all.
@DixieCrusader-X- He set the stage for that. If you gave him everything and he's still holding you it ain't ending there. You can do all the hoping you want, and see how that works out. Some of us want to be prepped for as many situations as possible. But always try de-escalation first.
@@SoggyNugget5150 If they are out of arms reach and pay attention to their surroundings, you don't fight back, closing distance will get you shot just as fast as any sudden movements will. This is a prime example of a lose-lose situation, you can't be prepared for this situation unless you yourself pack heat. Your best bet is to make a run for it if you have an opportunity to, if they get close enough to you then yeah, you MIGHT be able to wrestle the firearm from him but your best bet would be to try to get as much distance between you and the bad guy.
@DixieCrusader-X- 100% agree with everything you said. I do EDC as well as train and I agree. Where I believe our wires are crossed is the disarm technique is correct and beneficial. But I wouldn't recommend pressing up 90% of the time.
This demonstration relies on 3 VERY BIG assumptions: 1.) That the criminal does not already have a round chambered. 2.) That the criminal doesn’t keep aiming center mass. 3.) That the moment you attempt to begin to close the distance between you and the criminal he just doesn’t shoot you.
@@farzan1958 the guy is talking about if your possessions aren't enough for somebody... i'm not saying this will or won't work but at the very least... Pay attention to the video, then comment LOL
As my army brother once said: Don't ever fucking trust self defence youtubers when it comes to guns. If they have a gun and you dont, best thing you can do is comply with every demand and hope they leave you alone
"Get as close as possible" robber shoots you, t-bags you, and says "What, you saw some shit on youtube? How does it feel b'tch". You leave this word with balls in your face.
This only works if you have Gumby arms or if you have go go gadget arm extensions or Michael Jordan in space Jam Arm extending in length on command super powers. RIP
It's been proven that if you ask someone an unexpected question that disturbs or confuses them it will literally "pause" their brain for a fraction of a second. So, right before you grab the gun, ask the guy if his mother sells blowjobs because you're one of her best customers. He'll pause. Then grab his gun and mag dump.
@@supernovacaine10 Atleast he recognizes that you should cooperate, but sometimes, you can tell by the body language, someone is going to fucking kill you.
I mean if the gunman still pointing at you even after you gave up stuff. It means they have an intent to shoot you after, so you might as well go down trying. Give them a fight at least.
Also, remember that these moves work perfectly 100% of the time when the guy is using a solid plastic gun and you've choreographed it. If all else fails, the guy holding the camera can help you.
Nice me too! What's your percentage at currently?? I'm close to leveling up, currently around 90% success rate 9/10...The one time I lost so far I forgot to say "ass tap smash rack" and unfortunately he did kill me, luckily I came back the next day though and have had a 100% success rate since. I'll never forget the sacred words again
Yup, you then remember most criminals are broke af and the gun doesn’t have bullets, otherwise his hand would be shaking. You then leave I’ve done it when I was visiting New York
Yeah because now i only have to move about 5 cm out of the way and the robber misses the shot, but when its pointed at your chest you have to move a lot more because your whole body is in the way. Pretty straight forward. I can definitely move that small 5 cm quicker than you can pull the trigger. So yeah, ideally you want it pointed at your head if you want to disarm a firearm
I don’t think you understand the concept you’ve given them everything already and they’re still threatening you you’re essentially out of luck already if you don’t try anything you’re still dead so are you a weak little sissy that’s going to die not even trying or are you going to do something this isn’t even bravado it’s literally do or die
Because a click of a finger is faster than your whole body. You need to move as fast as the blink of an eye and as light as an eye, to do it!! If I have a knife, I'll charge at that distance. You dont go down immediately when shot. If Im gonna go down, might as well bring him with me too XD Knife = Gun (At this distance at least)
@@ryneagheilim9782 Not true at all. You can make movements faster than someone could react to it if you are close enough. That's why he said to get as close as possible. This is also only in a scenario where you already complied and they still have intent to harm you..
@@jeffguzman6497because the moment you move suddenly, they pull the trigger. The action of firing is far quicker than your action of pretending real life works like in the movies.
@@nowaynoways584eh no, if someone is stupid enough to get that close. Average reaction time of a human is 0.25 seconds, thats enough time to move your head or grab the gun.
"ideally he's pointing it at your head". We probably have very different definitions because i think having a gun pointed at my head is the exact opposite of an Ideal situation
@@lost6672I'm pretty sure he knows exac what hes talking about because marines are trained for these kind of situations life or death and probably have encountered them on multiple occasions
We were doing a self defence exercise for knife attacks, and the first thing our teacher showed us was like a real situation but with a marker. We had marks all over our shirts after only a few seconds showing how hard it is to actually do it. Plus in a real situation the amount of stress paralyse you even more. After that he just said: “if you can just run”
The difference between someone who knows what they're doing and someone who doesn't, is that the person who knows their shit, would NEVER tell anyone to do this. Just hand over your stuff, try to remember as much detail about the person as you possibly can so you can report it, and live to see another day.
Right? Most robbers aren't there to kill you, they are desperate for fast cash for whatever reason. I don't get the point of this video. I myself don't even carry cash and cards can be canceled.
@@geometricart7851did you even watch the video🙄? He said he gave him everything and he STILL has the gun pointed at you so if you can get close this is an option… Just because “Statistically” they just want your stuff doesn’t mean it’s a guarantee…if they are willing to point a gun then they are willing to shoot..take no chances.
Yes, it’s better to point at the body because it’s bigger and can’t pivot very fast. The head can move very fast making it a very poor target for projectiles.
@@hoangdung7494 @Selfdefensegoat said "ideally he's aiming at your head trying to intimidate you" after robbing you. This scenario/psychology doesn't make much sense. If dude intended to kill you then he'd likely go nonverbal and just do it. Intimidation usually means dude is trying to intimidate you into taking an action without having to kill you. Most robberies are not also executions so getting closer to him and making a move only skyrockets the chances that you'll scare him into committing the very execution you're both trying to avoid. If he goes nonverbal with a look of intent, or you're getting kidnapped in a very bad place, then this desperation move may be you're only move left, but robberies are not usually also executions.
Best thing to say is "take everything out of my pocket and say gun is in my holster I dont wann scare you so take it" So he gets into close range and gets distracted
I love these self defense guides that always have you taking like 4 actions before the person can react. I guess I really am John wick I can just do things fast enough that other people only react after they’ve been hit a few times
He literally shown what to do if the robber wants to kill you regardless even when you gave him the money already and also it's pretty sound advice, getting in close range from a medium range against a handgun is the best thing and they point at your head it's even better because the head is a smaller target, obviously try this only in a do or die situation. If you can't tell good advice from bad advice on the internet that's on you, also people teach bad stuff even offline, like those who try to sell you their courses.
@@theashenstorm5509 I guess. I mean in real life, not in fantasy internet land, you seize up when someone points a loaded weapon at you. Your heart falls out of its chest. It is terrifying, disorienting, and you just want to get the fuck out of there with your life.
@@davidmitnick868 hmm, that really depends on the person. I'm not just talking about how most people react with fight, flight, or freeze. Instead, I'm pointing out that someone with enough experience, trauma, or other psychological whatever? They're more likely to have a sort of psychological callous. Yes, it will still effect them but not the same way. Less likely to freak out and more likely to focus. For example, let's say someone spent a s good chunk of their childhood getting smacked around, hearing shots, and so on. Life threatening situations have become common enough for them that they don't expect to live a long happy life. Well, they'd respond differently than a person whose life has been much calmer, nicer, and more peaceful.
After I got all the information, I decided to rate the car on a scale of 1-10 since i’m a car guy. Speaking of which, I’d give the mustang a 10/10 for the outstanding black paint that fits the entire body design!
@@phosstheboss04you seem real smart. Ever heard of context clues? If they aren’t wearing a mask they intend to kill you. If they have a finger on the trigger they are damn ready to kill you. If you are at night and in an unpopulated area, then they probably intend to kill you.
If you drill this every single day, the guy mugging you is alone, he lets you get that close, *and* you're faster than him, you have a 50-60% chance of pulling this off. What is most likely going to happen in reality is its going to be 3-5 of them one will be at triple arms length with the gun and the other 3 will be either behind you or beside you. The best gun defense is situational awareness and another gun.
Yep, another gun will do exactly sfa. Best to make the gun expensive so these types of people can't afford them or even find them. But then, you do have your 2nd so best to put in 2 hours/day practice on your quick draw. Might increase your chances from 0.00001% to 1%
I got robbed at gunpoint 15 years ago in the summer of 2008. Dude got very close to my friends and I. Then pulled a pistol and kept it to his pelvis area pointing at me the whole time. He got close enough to grabbed a gold chain I had on, but far enough where his gun was not reachable from me.. then moved away pointing the gun and walking backwards. Keep in mind these bad guys also have some skills.. don’t risk it..
