Self Defense with Kevin Goat - Sifu Kevin Goat will teach you real world self defence training and techniques using his 30+ years of martial arts experience.
Love you’re videos Kevin but I wouldn’t make a video on something you don’t entirely understand I would agree with you kata doesn’t work if practiced like this but that’s because it’s not being practiced /used correctly. I would have to say Karate is one of the most widely misunderstood martial arts in the world; you see karate was born on Okinawa which was a melting pot for combative knowledge. The Okinawan’s took their native wrestling art and combined it with different martial arts from all around Asia such as the Philippines and even Thailand effectively creating the original MMA. Karate and it’s katas were originally intended for close range self defense, BUT when the art was modernized in Japan the Japanese tried applying karate’s kata principles, methods, and techniques: (Which were meant for close range self defense) in a sport long to mid distance range therefore causing the unrealistic applications we see today for an example karate blocks don’t really exist. Those movements that are often referred to as “blocks” aren’t blocks they are grappling techniques. That’s why you have the hand on the hip; I know you use trapping that hand on the hip signifies clearing limbs while striking. There is historical proof of everything I just covered you should look more into the art and discover it’s lost purpose.
Ya. Exactly KEV. ⚠️DON’T EVER LOOK SCARED TO MAKE A MOVE!” Because moving with a change will signal the attacker that you indeed see them, and will respond in kind.” Don’t look SCARED TO DEATH, whatever you do.” ☺️💯👈🏻
😂😂" if I don't care about my baby so much, I smack him...."😂😂 I bet the Goat family has self-defense in their blood. Even the baby can do some KungFu/Wing-Tsun moves in the air and kick while Kevin spins the Goat-Baby in the air.😂... every move is rehearsed and coordinated😎
1 blocked one time a knife at a tottaly crazy schizoprenic.. but he pusshed me to a corner of wall i got .i hurted myself..... but i took the knife away
What's up with self defense guys addressing the bear hug problem? Any stats on how many thugs use bear hugs to accomplish their low work? Another thing, I doubt the kneebar would work without pinching as the guy behind has room to rotate his leg to allow it to bend. Also note how the guy had to adjust his hands to reach out to the ankle. This shows that the technique is more tricky than it looks. You might be better off learning jiu jitsu.
more effective if you grab at the heel as close to ground as possible. Grabbing behind the knee may work but is very ineffective because of the leverage the attacker will have. grabbing at the heel is actually the secret detail to finishing this counter.
Eye contact and acknowledgement with people around you is the most important social interactions you can have. Lack of eye contact makes you look weak but if you make eye contact for too long with out some form of acknowledgement like a nod it can make people think you're being aggressive towards them because prolonged eye contact is a dominantly aggressive action. So walk with purpose, make eye contact, and acknowledge the people around you with simple nods or even a simple "how are doing?" And you wont be seen as a victim
