This game makes me think about my dad he bought this game and had me teach him how to use the ps2 controller and he loved it thanks for the good memories. I lost my dad two years ago so this was nice.
Man I loved this game when I was a kid the nostalgia I'm getting is crazy. Thanks for reminding me of my childhood, i remember being so proud of myself when I finished it.
This was my Red Dead Redemption before Red Dead Redemption. Thanks for the nostalgia trip. Edit: Don't forget about the secret stash of unlimited ammunition in a hole in the ground next to the chimney of Coltons childhood home in the plains where the buffalo graze. You need to grab a TNT barrel from Empire City and carry it all the way to the house, set it next to the chimney, then blow it up.
Dude I loved this one! Totally deserving of a remake or something. Or a sequel! BTW Jayvee, I'm loving this new approach in your videos. It's super fun to watch lol. Keep it up dude.
@@Code4You1 so just cause it's a western, it's all good? This is the same thing when people say Ghost Of Tsushima is Assassin's Creed in Japan... It's not just about the setting and the gameplay, the LORE of Assassin's Creed makes it an AC game. Same with a Gun remake, it would be Gun lore, Gun world, not just a western themed game...
Absolutely loved this game growing up! The voice acting was top notch too. You got Thomas Jane as Colton (The Punisher), Lance Henriksen as Thomas MacGruder (Alien), Brad Dourif as Reverend Reed (Chucky), Ron Perlman as Hoodoo Brown (Hellboy), and so many more! I honestly took for granted how many well known actors were in this masterpiece of a Red Dead knock off, and you can’t convince me otherwise!
I like how the creators of Tony Hawk pro skater made this. Sense they NEVER made a western shooting game they all underestimated there skill and focused all there energy into Story and story writing. By hiring Western movie Directors to create and direct the story. But it not only made a great story but also great gameplay.
I loved this game and played literal hundreds of hours of it. Thanks for the nostalgia trip, I haven't played this in probably over 10 years, but it was cool to see the crazy cinematic cutscenes with all the great voice actors, music and camera movement. Can we get a part 2?
I remember turning the music up on my old ass box TV when I would replay the intro because for whatever reason the game never truly saved. A truly beautiful soundtrack. The Webb & Rudabaugh boss fight was always so intense, and I never fully beat the game back then because I couldn't kill Reed in his battle at the boat. I remember thinking it was so cool you could blow limbs off of Hoodoo when his body was on display after killing him. A fantastic classic, and one that deserves a spot on the top western games list.
Gotta say, Jay I’ve been here since the fallout 4 days. I’m loving this new approach, and I feel like you could do this kinda video (which it seemed like you enjoyed making) and then I would love to see some more of the video essays you used to do when you would review games and give feedback to developers. And I also understand that as a creator sometimes you have to do sponsored videos, but I prefer to here your “true” opinion. That’s just because I think you got good opinions. Anyways, love it, keep it up
Holy fuck i had a nostalgia trip, i remember playing this on my ps2 and being blown away from the graphics, also i remember at the end of the game you can get a broken ass shotgun by defeating the final boss, and at some point you blow a giant bridge, oh brother the memories
man, having only Nintendo products at home and a PS1 when growing up. This was one of those games on Game Cube that blew me away. So gritty and mature. Lmao, I love Gun so much.
I fucking adore GUN! My cousin and i played it to death just going into dodge and becoming wanted and blowing people’s heads up and then gettin’ outta dodge! I replayed it on my crappy laptop my freshman year of college a couple years ago and still had a blast
I'm almost 19 yrs old now, this game was and still is my fav game for sure, I remember when I had my classic xbox, I used to play "Gun" on afternoons, my mother always asked me if I alr had complete the game every time she saw me playing, now I play this on PC to remember those golden memories of my childhood 💛☄️
Played this game more than twice when I was a kid, it’s kinda amazing how this game made its way to China, albeit pirated, and became a huge part of my and many others’ childhood. Just bought this game on GOG to thank the devs for the incredible experience.
RE4 came out in 2004 on gamecube btw ;3 also nobody gonna talk about the epic voice cast in this game Thomas Jane Colton White (voice) Lance Henriksen Thomas MacGruder (voice) Brad Dourif Reverend Reed (voice) Ron Perlman Mayor Hoodoo Brown (voice) Tom Skerritt Clay Allison (voice) Kris Kristofferson Ned White (voice)
I remember trying to play this game on my "gaming rig" at the time... It ran... um... reasonable. I mean, it was an awesome slide show with 2 maybe even 5 FPS at times! Sadly I never finished this game. I remember getting stuck at the part when you had to shoot the arrows on the bridge. Couldn't wait for the cut scene to finish, so I just started doing something else. Never touched this game since. Maybe it's time for a revisit...
The Alhambra’s on fire 🔥 This game had so many great voices in it. Thomas Jane, Kris Kristofferson, lance Henrikson, Ron Perlman, Brad dourif, Tom Skerritt. Loved playing this wish it would get a remaster or a sequel.
I love this game! This video encouraged me to dust my PS2 off and hook it up again to play. As a kid playing as someone with the same name as me was really cool as well.
That makes two of us who remember this game. I would always do the TNT barrel spot for unlimited ammo. I 100% this game for the cannon gun and everything, masterpiece.
I played this on the ps2, never beat it though due to me being kind of stupid when I was younger. I replayed the beginning part up until the ferry (at least I think that boat was a ferry) many times though, it was a great game for sure.
I loved this game, when it came out. It has Thomas Jane, as the main character and Lance Henriksen, as the main antagonist. Not to mention some of the other voice actors/actors such as Ron Perlman. Their performance in this game, along with the gameplay made it into one of the best games ever made.
This is one of the games on a short list that my dad would actually sit and watch me play. In fact it's the only one he actually asked me to play once so he could see what was gonna happen next 😃 he did play video games but at 50 he said he "couldn't keep up with it. There's too much going on." Granted his first game was pong
ive been watching all these old games having some awesome yet sat nostalgic moments I miss the simplicity in these days thanks for going back and replaying them.
LOVED GUN! OMG this brings back memories! I loved this game so damn much when i first played it on my PSP, waaaay back in the day. It was RDR way before that game came out. It is probably the reason why i was so damn into RDR when it finally released. Made me love Wild West games over all i honestly think.
Gun is one of those games that is really weird for me, because I remember watching all of the pre-release advertising, and I remember never having enough money to actually get the game, but not looking up gameplay videos because I didn't want spoilers. Now for the very first time I see the game being played, and it's an old game from a bygone era I somehow missed out on, but wouldn't be enjoyment out of now.
I played this game so much at a kid/teen. I must have 100% it half a dozen times. My only real complaint is that at the end of the game you get Magruder's insane shotgun but by that point there's not a lot to use it on. Same with the cannon. I wish it let you replay the story mode keeping the end game weapons.
It was my childhood as well. I played this game every day and you should’ve seen me when I learned that red dead redemption was coming out!!! It’s just been gold since then...rockstar kind of has them by the balls though so they axed the sequel because of the competition which was bullshit, they should put it out anyway..
Damn, I played this on PC around the same time I played Oblivion, lmao those graphics did not look good even at the time it was released, but this game is still hella fun
as a Gen-Z, I found this game by myself when I was searching for an Old game to play on GOG. I played and complete this game 100% on the hardest difficulty, it was truly amazing.
