Gun4ir vs Sinden .... The Best Option For You in 2023 ? 

I have both guns. With the gun4ir, if you have a fisheye lens, you can stand closer to the screen than with a Sinden pistol. You don't have to worry about the lighting in the room. The recoil in the Sinden pistol fades when firing automatically. But these are not the main disadvantages of the Sinden pistol. With gun4ir, using mamehooker, you can adjust the recoil like on a real arcade (not in all games, but there are many of them). It's strange that none of the reviews I've seen mention this. That is, when you run out of ammo in the game, the recoil will not work until you reload the weapon. And this is the most important plus of Gun4ir. Based on this, it follows that it does not make sense to install Sinden in an arcade machine. Gun4ir wins in everything and is in no way inferior to real arcade guns.

I just got me a 28'' CRT-TV and couple of GunCon2:s for blasting PS2 games. Lots of fun, easier and cheaper too!

Wow bringing back the old super jolt gun. I got that from a Vegas trip when I was younger. I has a gun metal paint spray weights pretty hefty it worked on ps 1 and sega saturn. You had to aim down the bottom hole and not from the sight because its sights are off. It cost around $80 to $100 back then.

Have only recently placed my order for a Sinden. Cant wait to give it a shot. No recoil. My orignal PS1 & PS2 GunCons didnt have recoil and thats the games and experience I want to recreate

I have read and watched endless comparisons of sindens against the gun4ir and the only thing that matters which is never answered is how 1 to 1 the cursor is when doing quick movements like an old school lightgun. I dont care how much the guns weigh, or their setup, or anything else. Which gun is closer to using an old school light gun when making snap movements. Nothing else should matter as much and its annoying its not the focal point of any comparison.

I love my sinden gun as I move around to different PCs and monitor's. I think if I was building a cab I would go for gun4ir. Both are good fun, bring on more light gun games.

The only games I used the light guns for was Duck Hunt and Clay Shooter. I do not know why Nintendo never re-released Duck Hunt durning the Wii era or even with the Nintendo Switch.

My friend bought a couple of Sinden guns, when they came available. He gave me one of them to try and use, I've been having it since. Firstly I tried to get it to work properly, on two different computers and displays. It had quite terrible jitter on the cursor on screen. I never got it working properly and it has been on my shelf after that. On this summer, I suddenly remembered it again and decided to test it again. New software, new firmware. Same problems. Getting it to work with something like MAME is, frankly, just too much work for me nowadays... I mean, I've been living the DOS-era and all the configurations it brought with it. I honestly tried to get it to work again on 2 different systems and displays. After two days of frustration, I gave up... I got it to work with Duckstation, kind of easily. Though button mapping is still a thing I don't understard. If you remap the trigger and press the trigger on gun. It just doen't work. One has to map it to left mouse button and as the gun is configured to use trigger as left mouse button, why that doesn't work??? Don't know... Anyway, suddenly during trying different settings, gun reversed every axis (up, down, left, right). Quitting and restarting Sinden software got it back to normal. Sometimes, the trigger just doesn't work or there is a terrible lag. Jitter is horrible, spending hours on trying to adjust the settings, it's all the same. The jitter is just horrible. 65" LG C9 (with 3700x and Asrock Radeon 6950XT) and Samsung CHG9 (with 5800x and Gigabyte Radeon RX 6900 XT Extreme Waterforce WB). I'm just glad I didn't waste my money for this piece of... Well, let's just say I'm happy for those, who got a working one. This just doesn't. Just saying, I'm never getting Sinden myself...

I have a black sinden with the recoil. i do mot use the recoil feature much though. Once you have it set up it is pretty spot on for most of the games. Nes duck hunt using retro through retrobat has played extremely well, and so has the naomi, and other sega games. It is jst what I needed to round out my home arcade.

I have both, and while there's arguments to be made on the practicality of the white border VS the IR sensors, and whether the white borders are a dealbreaker for you or not, if we're talking simply about the latency and accuracy of the gun itself and nothing else, Gun4ir absolutely blows Sinden out of the water. There's just no comparison; Gun4ir wins in every way. This said, even though one is clearly better than the other, they're both at least good, and I don't feel either purchase is a mistake.

You forgot one big thing emulation and some games just don't work. Is their any way to make full blown video on windows 10 set up for light gun set ? showing how to set up for this as this one thing I have not seen.

Ain't spending more money on this. Got 2 Aimtrak, the first and less cooler/precise amongst IR gunz, basically just a Wiimote but I played evsrything from Point Blank to House of the Dead 5. It's enough for a blast in the past.

Also Sinden with recoil works out of box. Gun4IR requires you to find custm 12 volt 2 amper power system to get recoil

suprised you didnt talk about the accuracy of each one. ive reviews that really hone in on the accuracy and the gun4IR is a lot better as the sinden is very jolty and shaky.

For the prices trying to sell, this can even get a stink deck. Would you be way better? This technology should be the add expensive if she'd be more reasonable. But at that price at the 300 plus mark, it's way too much. Maybe $40 50 dollars, and pushing it $70

What I insanely hate about the sinden light gun is the price point and you don't even get a braided cable... honestly I hate sinden for that sinden just feels beyond over priced

Sinden is better easily now Sinden with recoil is 50% or more cheaper than Gun4IR. Also Sinden is available in stock while Gun4IR is out of stock

gun4ir is a good gun but the price is a joke. 250-280 euros per gun is insane. A sinden is between £90-£140 less than half the price. In fact you can get 2 sinden for the price or gun4air and have change.

In my opinion, Gun4ir is better, unfortunately, the biggest problem of Gun4ir is the availability of the entire kit in Europe, the person who deals with sales, modding does not send to Europe, so Eu is forced to solve Sinden, although Sinden is on average available in Eu, but it is ;(

I feel like the white border around the screen should be a hard deal breaker for the Sinden guns. I followed them from the beginning and when it was all said and done they just didn't deliver on the promises they made.

Way to over priced. You can get retro shooter for under 300 with 2 similar guns a peddle and a game box with games. This is waaaaaay to much for what it is. Hell ,I have a wii modded with modded controlers in airsoft guns that are wireless, have recoil and cost around the same price as one of these guns for the whole setup.

I am NOT a fan of Sinden... I cant stand the border around the screen... Takes you away from the arcade experience. Also the software has to be running in the background where the Gun4IR just needs it to configure the guns and that's it... its all internal. And the last thing is Gun4IR is DIY...the most expensive part is $25 for the IR emitter and you can basically tape the parts to a stick and you have a very cheap gun.... So that being said, I like how you can turn essentially anything into a light gun at almost any budget, or drop the $$$ and buy a pre-built. I am cheap so I prefer to mod my own Guncons. But love how you can turn a Nerf gun or a Super Soaker into a light gun!!

The sinden light gun is extremely underwhelming. It takes a lengthy amount of time to get it configured with more then one emulator. Wiimotes gun shell and dolphin bar have been the best plug and play solution so far albeit a limited game library

GUN4ir looks like a pile of shit cheap shell, lenses bought off ebay and i assume IR sensor and PCB are adwino chipset 250 euros for this tho and the quality is so POOR like a kitbash someone made in their moms basement. Sinden looks vastly more well built and has a reasonable and better quality overall more arcade quality build. now i had a few diffrent lightguns for the PSX back in the day Gcons scorpions recoils versions but the thing about the 90s was QUALITY was amazing for the price. even with inflation nothing came close to the quality of controllers back then now you're paying though the nose for armature crap cos someone with a 3D printer calls it "CUSTOM" nah it's 3D printed made to order you're not custom making jack shit. anyone with a decent resin printer can do high quality printed parts and knock out affordable products but they like to think adding a TIME premium is important.

Neither system is plug and play. It's just a question of what you want to futz with. I'd rather build my own gun and futz with setting it up essentially once than have to screw with every game I want to play. Do what works for you. No wrong answer.
