"Egotistical hard ass" "Smooth talker" "Mental patient" "Kid with so much EDGE" Probably the best descriptions for these boys that I've ever heard of 🤣🤣🤣
Gundam 00 is a goddamn masterpiece. From the soundtrack to the characters to the mecha designs, it nails everything. But the story is on a whole another level. The first Gundam to be set in our world, with a realistic representation of the future (except for giant robots), the middle east pushed into chaos as the world has transitioned to solar energy and the whole argument that conflict only causes more conflict. It used the original Gundam trophies (like newtypes, war, suffering and all that) in new, interesting ways and goes even beyond that. At the end you might find that its story is an antithesis to UC. The plot of Gundam 00 is (as you'll later find out): humanity can't go into space divided. We have to come together before that for the dialogues that will come with other species. Spoilers for those who haven't watched: I also wanna point the effort of the creative team into making aliens truly... Alien. I've learned as a kid that Silicon can also form bonds just like Carbon so other planets might have silicon-based lifeforms that would behave like NOTHING here on Earth. And, besides hard sci-fi the likes of Star Trek, Gundam 00 is the only one who managed to nail that. Aliens that aren't bipedal, aren't good, aren't evil, are just different and can't understand when they hurt us. As the final phrase of the movie (and my favorite quote from Einstein) says: Peace can't be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding. And that's the whole point of this series. Gundam 00 is not just a good Gundam or a good anime, is a good story in any media. Watch it with an open mind, even if you're not that much into Gundam or mecha. Until the end, movie included. You'll come out as a better person, I guarantee it.
The ending was mishandled. They make you believe that everyone dies but SFS in the final battle, and then in the last few minutes you find out "JK WE JUST WANTED YOU TO THINK THEY WERE DEAD" and all the tension VANISHES and the weight of sacrifice is GONE. I loved the final battle but I felt robbed.
@@Varlwyll its more like close encounters in that regard I think it works well as after an understanding is made those taken by the ELS are brought back. Plus its shown before in the movie that the ELS can recreate things absorbed( kinda like the Mysterons from Captain Scarlett) and for them to return those absorbed is pretty reasonable to assume.
@@barrybend7189 i personally loved 00 due to many reasons, but you already pointed out why i loved that series, "an antithesis to the UC timeline" as much i want to love the UC story i felt it went to a road where you will just stop caring anymore, bcuz wars will go on that timeline so long as no one understands each other...00 managed and given you valid doubts on how these series will end "by understanding" and thw ELS put them to the final test to work together and finally make a point on how to stop the war.
I love all 4 OPs, I'm actually struggling to think of any anime (not counting long-runners like Naruto, One Piece, etc.) where I loved 4 OPs in a row a lot. Ash Like Snow is my favorite of the 4 personally.
Recently rewatched this show and it's so much better than i remembered. I picked up some new detail about characters for example how Feldt who i thought was big nothing burger is actually incredibly courageous in the hardest moments. Lyle who i thought was just Lockon replacement for marketing reasons has some of the show's most badass moments and his Anew substory was genuinely heartwrecking for me. Tieria's amazing development into a real human, Graham's descent into madness and redemption, Saji's and his tribulations. All around amazing stuff.
A great reference point for Tieria's maturity is his reaction to Lyle's rage at Anew's death. You can tell he empathizes, but also regrets his beating of Setsuna when Neil died.
Well, it seems they rotate what is available on their channel with my current example being Gundam The Origin being privated months back but other Gundam shows are suddenly available
@@Xeno-The-Wanderer I think its half a month for seed and seed destiny remastered and the other half is 00 and everything else is privated for a certain amount of time
My first time seeing that fight I thought I had lost both my favorite characters, the feels! Then season 2 happened and one of them survived. But season 2 had ep 14 (I believe) where everyone came together to destroy all the debris, favorite episode :)
I could write a thesis about what Season 2 and the movie did, and how it was done well, despite what everyone says. But I'll leave ut at this. Season 2 was made to help demonstrate what happens when the general populance gets into a "war is terrible, but at least it's not happening to me" mentality, which was perpetually shown with Saji and Louise in S1. It does start to get preachy in that it tries to push the whole "we need to get off our ass and stop fighting to further our society and species" ideology, especially with the introduction of the ELS in the movie. But it does a good job of showing that people are all affected by war, no matter how much we want to believe it doesnt, with also adding in plenty of beam spam and green, magical, space dust into the mix. Also, it's probably yhe best way to introduce something like aliens without getting too campy and making them little green men. Also, Lockon's affect on everyone in Celestial Being is played out really well, including to the foreshadowing of it in episode 7 of the first season. Not to mentiom his quote "Setsuna, you have to change. I couldn't so you'll have to do it for me." Is one of the most powerful quotes I've ever heard, that is pretty much the main theme of the entire series. Not to mention it haunts me to this day since it's the last thing my own twin brother said to me on his death bed. Finally, i want to add it's probably one of the best dubs done for an anime that I've ever seen, and what keeps me watching Gundam dubbed rather than subbed even to this day with things like Unicorn, and my second favorite Gundam series, IBO. TL;DR Gundam 00's second season and movie are good, people who think it's silly or bad are just mean.
I have a slightly different view. The ultimate most important part of Gundam 00's story is in the movie, and the two seasons before it were all set up for the climax. While enjoyable and entertaining in and of itself, the two regular seasons will be just that if not for the movie to tie in every idea and message that the whole series was trying to convey.
"easier to identify with" THAT is why i love gundam 00. Even though this is set in the far future, it is closer to our society than other gundam shows. I especially love the part in the movie ,before setsuna leaves to go to the ELS world, where he says "we all just want to live". That just resonates with me on a human and emotional level because despite our differences, its a solid fact and it honestly makes me tear up.
Even more so than his backstory? When he told neena that shitty guy with beard tricks him and many children in a religious cult much like ISIL and he kills the people he considers family?. I dont know how he could still manage to be almost normal function after that and not in mental insitution.

Seriously though: "Daybreak's Bell" by L'arc-en-Ciel alone is the only reason you should ever need to watch Gundam 00. And it's not even the best part of the show!

I wish Harmony Gold stop screwing the Robotech franchise and retcon everything after New Generation. I still want Macross to come but only certain shows because the majority of them aren't that good.
Arcada, it's funny how you undervalue SEED (not Destiny) considering SEED was the one Gundam series that revitalized the franchise as well as the mecha genre in the early 2000s. It's thanks to the success of SEED that projects like Code Geass & Gurren Lagann were greenlit and funded.
@@kenjiro8629 Mobile Suit Gundam also has many loose ends at the end of its story. In fact, SEED actually homage MSG and its rather abrupt ending after the enemy base exploded after Amuro got out of A Baoa Qu.
@@Archangelf91 The mecha designs are great, the story is good, the characters are engaging and the BGM is one of the best in the franchise. SEED is a homerun when it comes to commercial success and its ability to bring new fans to Gundam (& mecha in general) in early 2000s.
@@androyus Just one problem: 0079's sudden ending is due to the show being cancelled. Rather than making an actual good ending, SEED produced another shitty rushed ending. Trying to justify it with "but 0079 did it too!" is stupidly ignorant.
A friend literally said to me yesterday “come round and watch this show” and so I just watched the first ten episodes of 00 yesterday and have wondered where I’ve been going wrong in not seeing this sooner
Posadist Pacman if you like Gundam 00 then I recommend you check out Code Geass next, another Sunrise Mecha from the mid 2000s that has a lot of the political commentary of 00, cool mecha fights, and one of my personal favorite protagonists in anime Lelouch vi Britannia.
i do always recommend my friends who wanted to watch gundam with gundam 00.. Simple reasons: 1. GREAT OPENING, the opening really match with the condition of the world, besides the song was really good 2. What i like from many gundam series, the huge war, conspiration, etc. They exist in gundam 00 3. The story was really good. Not too much cliche, story-rich, not too simple but not too complicated 4. The gundams was strong for exact reasons(like the high technology), but not too op like cant be hit, or such. The characters still common humans with just good machine 5. The arts/graphics was great. The other gundam like seed or wing maybe too old for some people who wanted to try to watch gundam, but not having huge motivation . . . 666. THE OP WAS GREAT.. ALL HAIL LARUKU - DAYBREAK'S BELL.. i watched the shows maybe in 2010(iirc) when the s2 came, but until now when i hear the op1 of season 1, i still got goosebumps. ty
@@barrybend7189 Awesome. My first Gundam was *Wing* back when I was 10 yo. The story confused the hell outta me, but it has cool mechs and people/characters were actually getting brutally killed (for a kids show at the time) so I stayed tuned till the end. That was some experience.
"Season 2 focus on more of the Religious Aspect" yup, really good reference actually and philosophy of the Abrahmic Religion and Spirituality understanding. This is why Gundam 00 blew my mind.
And the subtle hints the potrayal of setsuna/soran as brainwashed child soldier with religious terrorist cult like ISIL/Boko Haram, that killed his family because they were "the unfaithful". Shit.... gundam 00 really took the risk there. Wonder if those in middle east and west asia ever seen them.
Gundam 00 was my first Gundam too!! And is still my favorite! :)) More notes: 1) Pleeease make a video about SEED. Personally, I never really saw how exactly everybody hates it. I can understand the issues with the second season, but the first seemed pretty alright to me 2) Love the Bill Wurtz reference!
The most memorable thing about Gundam SeeD is that so much of the art was provided by hentai artists I recognized coming into the show. Eitehr by their style or by their names in the credits.
I like gundam and final fantasy when they are stand alone entries. I also like how things carry over like in gundam the white masked dude. Seeing those returning elements is cool
I am a simple man. I see Gundam 00 thumbnail. I feel nostalgic and remembered when I first watched this series that got me into gundam. I click on the video. I watch the video. I like the video.
A Really great and informative video! And regarding macross, The good news is that the court decided a few months ago and harmony gold will lose the macross trademark outside of japan in 2021. It's a couple years away but the decision has been made and it's final so fear not, macross is very much coming over.
Even better, Harmony Gold also in that case immediately lost the rights to most of the visual designs from Macross, as the case also upheld the earlier Japanese court finding that the folks that licensed those designs to HG did not actually have the rights to perform said licensing.
To be a bit more accurate, the license expiration date of March 14, 2021, was the original expiration date when Harmony Gold gained the rights from Tatsunoko Production in 1984. This particular court case was Harmony Gold arguing that an agreement with Tatsunoko in 1998 gave them the right to continue exploit their derivative works (namely, Robotech) in perpetuity, but the court upheld that original agreed-upon date of March 24, 2021. The whole situation with the rights to Macross (and Southern Cross and Mospeada) can get a little confusing since Studio Nue and Big West also got involved at various points, but at the current time it looks unlikely that any of these companies will continue any further dealings with Harmony Gold in the future. The best news for Battletech fans, of course, is that it turns out Harmony Gold _never actually owned_ the rights to all those character and mecha designs that they've been suing everybody about. www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-09-14/harmony-gold-macross-mospeada-southern-cross-licenses-still-expire-in-2021/.121372

I'm starting to take an interest in Gundam again after the announcement of Maxi Boost ON coming to the West this month and having played the closed and open betas since GVS 2017 was what wanted me to look into the series further but eventually forgot about it. I'm close to finishing G Gundam (Currently at episode 31) and debating whether to watch Iron Blooded Orphans or 00 next. I might just go with IBO since there is less material for it than 00 (50 episodes, OVAs and a movie) and it was also the series I wanted to start with 3 years ago. Hearing Setsuna say his full name was pretty funny to me for some reason.
I know this to be haresy, to be blasphemy, but i must say it! I PREFER THIS ANIME DUBBED!!! Oh and and harmony gold just give it up already, plz for the fans plz!
Gundam 00 is better in dubbed. There are very few dubs that I actively prefer over the native voice, but this is one of them. I've found that it's usually anime with a large international or at least non-japanese setting that tends to be best in dubbed like Black Lagoon, Baccano, 00 and a few others. Isekais don't count since that's just "trapped in some japanese mmo lmao" setting
@@Rippedyanu1 Yes, when i did my first rewatch of the series i begun SUB but after the first few lines i switched to DUB And Pokemon is another that is ofc better dubbed because that is what you watch when yoy where little
TBH, the Dub in 00 is really good. Recent series like ibo........well ear rape for me. Perhaps the voice, didn't mesh well and do justice in that theme.
The only issue with the dub IMO is Swaile playing Setsuna. Should've been Ribbons for the joke. Alex Zahara as Lockon, Cox as Al/Hal and Vincent as Tieria were amazing casting choices though.
At first I thought the two civilians were just there to connect the show further to the audience (most of which are of course civilians themselves), aside from yknow, the comic relief. A certain episode traumatized me.
So far I think it is the best stand alone that I have seen. This and Iron blooded orphans are the best to enjoy without knowing much about gundam. So far I have seen Unicorn, 00, G, some of Wing, and a little bit of the remake of the original. Wing is pretty cool and 90s anime feeling. I do like the edgy characters in wing tho. Its like a bunch of Sesunas
Gundam 00 was also my first Gundam, and hearing Daybreak’s Bell still gives me chills Also, after seeing several reviews of the series and watching it myself, it’s kind of interesting to see the massive split between people who think Season 2 was better than 1 or worse. I lean more towards the former camp, but it’s still quite interesting
My only issue with 00 was the overuse of Transam to do everything from fighting to buy groceries xd The rest of the series is great, it provides a constant flow of new gear into the battlefield with new weapons, suits, and supports units.
I'd really like the video on Gundam seed's problems so long as it's as good as Wacky's rants lmao still my favorite generation despite all the bullshit :)
gundam 00 was the first one i watched and i fell in love and became obsessed with everything gundam. but gundam 00 has its own stand out from the rest of them whether it be the weapons or the MS's themselves.
00 was the 2nd Gundam anime i watched after Wing. I found it really enjoyable. It is in my top 5 favourite series. Also, Harmony Gold has NO right to control if newer Macross anime are distributed outside of Japan. They only hold rights to the original!
I already bought the collector's edition a few days ago. It was the show that not only started and made me a Gundam fan, but was also my awakening to anime. How could I say no.
I haven't looked yet the latest Gundam series, the recent Hathaway films; I only saw Gundam Thunderbolt once but I watched all the other anime at least twice, just to be sure of what I saw. And of all of them, the one that amazed me the most was undoubtedly Gundam 00. It's clear that if we have to rank all the Gundams, the very first series must be in first place for a whole bunch of obvious reasons (well thought out despite some lapses in taste, well-constructed characters, innovative story, surprising action, etc.) but just after that it is necessary to place Gundam 00 and not Zeta (too disorderly, very poorly constructed dramatization...), and no SEED and SEED Destiny because both have lower drawing quality than Gundam 00 as well as too many very disrespectful absurdities in the dramatization (major story inconsistencies, many characters surviving terrible explosions...). Gundam 00 has the same flaw as all ambitious cinematographic works (animated or not): Very good ideas at the base, but numerous flaws in their implementation. Gundam 00 is, however, the series which contains the fewest errors, the one which expresses the most seriousness in the work and also the one which has the most incredible soundtrack there is; just the very first opening theme. What an irresistible diamond! I have listened to millions of drum games but never have I been so transported by the playing of a drummer (Not even Dave Weckl in Festival de ritmo). The first time I watched the series I was so happy that I went to the reviews hoping to find out that it had won many awards. To my great surprise I discovered that another anime had been preferred: Code Geass. I was sure that it was abnormal, so I obtained Code Geass which I followed once (recognizing the quality of the work) then a second time several months later where I was able to clearly see its defaults. Where Gundam 00 beats Code Geass is in the message. Code Geass has a real inconsistency and a real sickening side while Gundam conveys an extremely beautiful, strong and useful message, capped off by a film that makes much more sense than people think. Although there are several subjects that were unfinished, the final message is truly grandiose and the film explains for example why Setsuna became so special, why the GN particles are so special and why Aeolia Schenberg is a particularly important character. His speech against science and humanity is so relevant that it transcends the realm of cinema and is of profound importance to the current state of our world. Gundam 00 is a major work thanks to its soundtrack, its ambition, its message, its discourse on the hyper underestimated drama of fear, the beauty of the Gundams, the quality of the animation, the design of the characters, the dialogues, the architectural richness, its profusion of very high quality characters (Aeolia Schenberg, Setsuna F. Seiei, Lockon Stratos, Allelujah Haptism, Marie Parfasi, Tieria Erde, Sumeragi Lee Noriega, Shirin Bakhtiar, Klaus Grado, Ali al-Saachez , Graham Aker, Billy Katagiri, Ralph Eifman, Saji Crossroad, Louise Halevy, Sergei Smirnov, Hank Hercules, Kati Mannequin and even Marina Ismail). Characters all of great value. Some have suffered enormously, they carry a terribly heavy burden, but what makes them deeply endearing is the intelligence with which they have chosen to overcome their suffering (Aeolia, Setsuna,...). And others are important because they embody unbalanced people who, like many people today, have forgotten; Graham, for example, has forgotten that what matters is not Bushido as interpreted by his masters but Life itself; Ali al-Saachez forgot that when we neglect the great principles of life, we end up merging with pure evil and there is nothing worse than that. This last fact is particularly important because it is the path taken for a long time by several big fortunes in this world, like this rich American forty-year-old (I think) who injects himself with the plasma of his 17 year old son to resist the effects of time. Brief ! Gundam 00 is an underrated work whose value can only be seen by people who can open their minds. It is by far the richest Gundam whose only opponent is none other than the very first serie of that great saga. It is simply a masterpiece.
Funny, I recently started a Gundam dive after RightStuf had a sale where I could get 5 classic Gundam DVDs (sadly not Blu-Rays) for $50. Given I was not an existing fan, I figured $50 was a reasonable buy-in, got a pretty good haul, and so I bought basically most early UC stuff and have been getting through it. And so far, it's been worth it.
I would say 00 hits so well because, barring some very 2000's talking points such as PMCs and Terrorism™️, 00's story and writing are very realistically grounded and well thought out. The political commentary has barely aged a day, (for better or worse,) the world building is solid, and thw characters make sense. And while some people might have issues with the second season, (I'm absolutely not one of them, 00S2 kicks ass) the overall package of 00 is one of the most solidly made and well told Gundam series out there.
If you want flashy necha action, you'd be better off with Gunbuster or Gurren Lagann. Gundam pretty much in its entirety is about sociopolitical commentary.
Lousie actually contributed and was an active member of the A-Laws, And she was technically an Innovator. And Saji... Well there's war and he hesitates. I still feel really annoyed everytime I watch Gundam00 s2 e1
I'm very much with you on this. Easily my favorite of them, although I admit I haven't seen many. Just found this to be a very solid series, with excellent animation, voice acting and (mostly) great writing. I could do without their penchant for characters to just say each other's names for no apparent reason, or the many times some just looks forward and says... "Gundam." Not sure what that was all about. And I enjoyed S2 just about as much as S1, though...when I first saw the finale of S1 and thought it was the series finale... Holy crap, what a gut-punch! Nearly as bad as when S4 of Farscape ended and it appeared to be the end of the series. That final scene haunted my nightmares for some time after!
Gundam Z is best especially that episode where he finds the Haro and the guy just kicks the main protagonist face and Camille says violence is never the option as he kicks him in the face which I find very funny cuz Camille is very violent in the beginning it just say his name sounds weird and he just starts a fight Rob's a goddamn Gundam just because one man says his name was girly murders many officers joins chars Rebellion against the Titans just because of one word it could have all been prevented is Jared the Titan kept his mouth shut
LOCKON LOCKON LOCKON... That whole situation pissed me off sooo much! /spoilers/ . . You can't just kill off a Gundam pilot and bring in a fucking twin just to change the personality!
it must have been traumatic. I applaud you for not dropping the franchise. as for me seed\destiny are my favorite but I'm torn between 00 and iron blooded orphans.
I love Gundam 00, ive been into it since like 08. I love the plot, ive seen it like 6 times. Other gundums are just too deep into their own lore. They always take place in different planets and shit. I just dont get it
Doom234590 I think since the beginning of gundam 00 making, they had decided to make the aliens plot line. Or what else do you think “the upcoming conversation in the future” means? I can’t really understand why people were so turned off when they saw alien popped up in gundam series.
@@FanRRice I know it just felt really random and not very well explained. It's been almost 10 years since I've seen the series so I'm still a little fuzzy on the details. It had a lot of great fights but all I remember is Setsuna basically becoming Jesus or something and like forming up with his Gundam. Idk it just felt a little too underwhelming to end such a great series. Hopefully the movie gets retconned with the addition of a 3rd season. That's just my opinion though.
I kinda like the aliens actually as it showed that Sunrise are willing to try something new with the Gundam formula. Unfortunately, it wasn't well done as they should have place more concrete foreshadowing. But regardless of execution, I don't think the audience would like it anyways since it would make the Gundam felt like Macross. Still, the movie pretty much showed to Sunrise that aliens+gundam won't work which is sad considering the potential story that could be had. Age's story at first try to make it as seem as the Martians were really aliens but imagine if that was true.
I will defend the movie til the day I die. The questions it asks, albeit not necessarily well, made it absolutely worth it. Although it doesn't necessarily do it as well as say Fafner ultimately did, they were still good ideas.
It had a bad habit of introducing characters, giving theme little to do, and then killing them off. It was also where I felt the action got the most dull as it was just mobile suits spamming beams at swarms of metal pod things. The beginning and ending of the movie, however, are some of the most memorable moments in the franchise to me.
@@ferhog7705 can't say much about Descarters, with him being a bait to hide about the ELS...and the missed opportunity to see Gadelaza vs Gundams and the full power of QanT (though it wouldn't be possible anyways considering how pacifistic Setsuna has become). To be fair, the beam spamming is justified in that they can't afford a close range combat with the ELS.
The character writing in this series made me perpetually weep like a baby. Every time someone died, or expressed their grief for their fallen comrades...So good.
Gundam 00 is my intro into the Gundam multi universe. And I just finished it, and it was amazing. Call me a noob anime watcher but the saji/louise ark was the most gut wrenching and depressing and then satisfying I've seen so far.
Was Gundam Seed that bad? While it had it's problems I still think it was pretty great. It had fantastic OST (my favorite of the franchise), great characters(with some exceptions), and it had great Gundams (Justice and Freedom in particular). Seed Destiny though was pretty garbage except for some scenes.
I don't think Seed and Destiny are that bad. They just so controversial. So many love them, but lot people hate them. Gundam Seed and Seed Destiny was rated as best anime for 4 years. In my opinion the only thing good about Seed Destiny is battle between Impulse vs Freedom. Its great and I love how they handle it. After that, all of them just copy of Seed and copy of UC. BTW, my favorite Gundam is Strike Freedom.
I agree with you about Destiny. It kinda shows in how the writers decided to switch focus back to the original cast 2/3 of the way threw the show and make the new characters little more than punching bags beyond that point. Still the seen were Cagalli cons (forgot the name) into verifying her identity over the radio only to have her immediately order him arrested followed two seconds later by him being punched and dog-pilled by 8 people made the whole series worth it for me.
Nope. This fucker is just biased against the show and can't separate personal feelings from objective recognition. it's so pathetic he tries to sound all informative and passionate to bring non Gundam fans into the franchise when he can't even tell what's good and what's bad
@@ExcelonTheFourthAvalonHeirs Controversial is probably the best way to describe Seed and Destiny because it is easy to see why people like them, and it is easy to see why people hate them. One of the best if not THE best spinoff/AU gundam imho. I say this as someone who watched the original gundam, wing, G, Z and ZZ before 00. Seed can die in a fire.
I've yet to watch the dreaded Seed Destiny, but I actually really liked Seed. It was the third Gundam I watched after Wing and 00 and while it had some dull plotlines and useless characters I liked a good chunk of the cast, loved the music, and was just really fond of the artstyle when it came to the mechs. It was also the show where a lot of the most important themes of the franchise hit me for the first time. It's not the best Gundam series, but I'd be happy to rewatch it eventually.
@@philippecr Yeah, Athrun and Shinn would have made great protagonists with Kira and the Archangel crew moving into the background. The more they focused on the Minerva the better it was, then Kira got involved and it all went downhill...
I have to disagree with him on the point he dismiss SEED. Destiny I understand but not Seed Seed in general brought back the hype of mecha genre back to where in once were with all the new face and fans they've got from watching seed especially girl/women And not to mention unpararel sales record that it hold for mecha in general the only thing that top seed sales is Original Gundam 1 year war After the seed era mecha came back in full force like Macross Frontier,Code Geass,Gundam 00,Gurren Lagann and for the record seed got average sales like 90k per vol even infamous destiny that riding the hype of seed got 50k-60k average the only thing that came close around that year was Macross Frontier that've got 70k average and also of course the gunpla kit of seed model in general that sales at the top till this day
many would argue the opposite, Kira is very popular over seas and popularity increased with Kira's involvement. To me, Athrun was the main character of Destiny. Shin and everyone else were simply supporting characters. My issue with Destiny was trying to pigeon hole Durandal into being a bad guy. A good leader with unintentional "road to hell is paved with good intention" like building requiem as pure defensive weapon and having it stolen by Blue cosmos or something.... The show should have been more about Athrun, fighting shadows of his father. The guilt he is feeling and unknown of rather his choice were correct or that of his fathers. trying to find his own path (It would have been amazing to see Athrun succeed Durandal and become Chairmen Zala. Then go through emotional choices of supporting his friends in taking back Orb or staying out of war and putting his own nation first.).
Gundam 00 Season 1 was easily one of the best blocks of Gundam I have ever seen (yes, this includes Zeta, CCA, UC, Victory). Season 2 was entertaining and fine but definitely not as interesting to me with the problems it posed.
00 gundam was my first gundam series. I just finished it recently and I just want more. Yeah there are some plot holes but when has there been an anime that doesnt have any flaws...I dont want to watch any of the others yet just cuz I dont think it can top 00 for me. I'm sure it will be good but 00 really hyped me up. That said I'm probs gonna start unicorn cuz my friend said I should watch that next so who knows mabye that will be my new fav. Unicorn gundam looks cool but 00 raiser will always be one of my favs. I dont want to watch Iron blooded orphans yet cuz I really dislike the main character who pilots Barbatos from the clips I've seen. I'm sure I'll eventually watch it but I as of now I dont want to. Overall tho I'm really grateful to 00 cuz now I'm obsessed. Its HYPE time when I hear the intros and outros.
I liked season 2 of Gundam 00 with its setup of characters who are friends/family/lovers who end up on different sides, and by learning to listen and to understand each other were those characters able to reconcile again.
I got so excited when I saw this in my subscriptions One of my favourite reviewers reviewing pretty much my most favourite anime ever???????? Yes please ugh god I watched this show back in 2012/2013 so I was like 12 and had no idea what was going on but loved it anyway I keep rewatching it ever few years n just appreciating it even more aaaaaa this show has a special place in my heart
It's hard for an anime movie to live up to it's hype but "Your Name" has not only lived up to it but has equally surpassed and outlived it's own hype. I get goosebumps from just hearing anything that has to do with it. . It's indeed a beautiful and loving masterpiece.
