I've currently escaped my captors, but I've contracted a terrible illness. I don't know if I'll be able to continue evading their pursuit. Pray for me. Your's damply, -Johnathan Q Smoogbert XIII
I think we need to remember that the AGE System which "designed" these units in universe was designed by a little boy and therefore will think like a little boy. You can see that clearly in the design concepts for both the Titus and the Spallow. Things that will be evident even still in later AGEs.
Desil is a weird villain. As the premise of the show explains itself at the beginning I reasonably assumed that they made Desil so young because they were planning for him to be a recurring villain that lasts for decades, but that leaves me watching and hoping for the painful demise of this violent little sociopath that's barely out of diapers... which is naturally somewhat conflicting as far as feelings go. Thing is though, they have fully functional cryostasis technology in this universe and it's only there to keep certain characters young between story arcs. So I have to ask why didn't they just age him up at the beginning if the gaps in time aren't relevant to his biological age? Was the devil toddler that much of an appealing characterization that they just had to go with it?
probably the main appeal is that he so young that he have no value for morality, everything he did is for fun. Even during the later arc of the show, while he look older, his mindset is still the same
Yes, but it also highlights why AGE is considered such a disappointment. The potential for the story was great, but it was squandered between the head writer, being unused to the TV format, continuing to write as if everything was a video game cutscene. The next part I feel made AGE's 'multiple generations' storyline become a hinderance was due to Bandai/Sunrise sticking with the 50 episode limit... when they either should have added 25 episodes more so each protag had 25 episodes to work within, or just make it Flit and Asemu... Everyone can agree we could have done without Kio.
I'm probably the only person who sort of watches Gundam like a casual fan who watched the first few episodes of Unicorn on Toonami, forgot about it for like 10 years: binge watched it on the official RU-vid channel, went "oh I remember this now, I saw this very briefly and wanted to watch the rest but couldn't remember what it was", cried when Marida died, and then stumbled through the rest of the show. Precided to look up pretty much every U.C. Mobile Suit from MS-04 Prototype Zaku to the Bugu over the course of a few years, look up some of the characters. Watch footage for Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation Vs. Zeon, go "this is so bad I will never watch the original series ever under any circumstance, watch Gundam Vs. Zeta Gundam. Watch Stardust Memory, think Kou Uraki was an utter moron, cry when Gato died. Watch A New Translation wondering: "Where are the 2 GM Sniper Customs?" Watch Haman's death scene in ZZ. Watch Thunderbolt Gundam December Sky, hope Jazz music jackass would die, cheer on the High Mobility Zaku. Watch A few episodes from Not The Gundam Origin. Look up most of Gundam Seed's Mobile Suits and go: "I will only watch this to roast it". Watch all of the Gundam intros at some point in one video. Watch the first season of IBO but only after Biscut died and not realize I had missed anything while going: "Oh this is really lit", all at some point after Unicorn and not realizing it was A Gundam Series until after rewatching Unicorn, watch the second season and see lead dude (Orga?) get lit up like a Christmas tree and go: "oh he's barely walking but he's still talking without gurgling he's good... oh wait, nevermind". Finally get to watch F91 and enjoy it with exception to the fact that Crosbone Vanguard Reconessance Officer dies on her first mission after defecting and no one even goes: "Oh what happened to what's her name?" Watch Chars Extremely Elaborate Suicide By Cop after watching a review on it, cheer as Hathaway kills Chan after she foolishly interferes, and begrudgingly accept the insane ending. Then re-rewatch Unicorn and cry during the Torrington Base Fight as countless Zeon Personnel die over some bullshit, cheer as Ple 12 slaps around the Delta Plus while screaming: "Gundam is the enemy!!!", treat Ridde as a joke and laugh about his antics like I'm watching That's So Raven or something, until he kills Lani and then going: "I will never forgive you and hope you die like Chan did", watch Ridde kill Marida and go: that idiot has gone all the way over the edge someone kill him now!!", bregudgingly accept the ending. Watch Sinta Reviews review a Super Robot Wars Game. Play Gundam Battle Operation 2 and go: "My God everything in this game moves insanely slow for no reason", until I had to sell my PS4 while I was homeless with my former best friend. Watch footage for Gundam Battle Universe on RU-vid and go: "oh my God that game looks awesome I must play that one day". Finally get to play Gundam Battle Universe with a little Gundam Seed PSP game on the side and go: "Man this game is as amazing as I thought it was but it's so hard, and why can't I destroy the Arcangel but at least I get to style on that idiot Kira in the unessasarally broken Strike. Watch Gundam Side Stories footage on RU-vid. Watch footage for the F91 game on RU-vid. And, watch Code Fairy footage on RU-vid while being amazed at how realistically the Mobile Suits move in cutscenes. And finally, watch Gundam Crossfire footage on RU-vid.
