Same, when I heard this game got announced I went to amazon bought GB3 and was like "If this is gonna be GB4 then I'm sold". Then I played the ONT and I was like ehhhh, not as smooth as GB3. But after playing the full version it's definitely the true GB3 successor. Some things GB3 does better but also a lot of things this game does better.
@@CoercitioYT 100% agree. After New Gundam breaker I thought the game series was gone but boy was I happy to be wrong. And I 100% agree with Burst Skill hologram issue. I loved making funnel builds and using the Full Burst mode and how it used the funnels i had equipped. The hologram thing i could have lived without. Cant wait for more from this game. So fun.
The EX skill part change thing can also mess with part sizes on occasions, AND sometimes if you have builder parts attached to those parts with things like I-Field. It'll also bug out and disable I-Field for the rest of the mission. Still an amazing game but it does need a tiny bit of fixin. Hope to see y'all on the leaderboards!

Its bandai, so i wouldnt hold my breath. If their other releases on Steam are anything to go by we should get about 3-4 DLCs in the form of gunpla packs but little else. Would be nice if they took more of a monster hunter aproach with seasonal events and special quests/missions but i doubt bandai will put up that much effort into this.

Having also completed the story, I agree with all of your points. Some things I personally would like to see at some point: - A way to copy/wishlist some of the builds I see on the leaderboards so I can try them out for myself - Better clarity on different advanced tech. I have an ability cartridge for Perfect Guard. Nothing in the game explains what that is or how to do it. I've figured it out, but would have preferred an explanation to some of them. Also more clarity on regular abilities. What's the difference between step and dodge? Does an extended jump (using boost) count as a regular jump? Etc. - Some more varied Awaken options. I know you can get the bursts from parts, but the actual base Awaken options are fairly boring and/or redundant with certain EX skills. - An option where, if we're using certain EX skills like Trans-AM, Zero System, etc, we could get some of the music from those series to play to really get into the spirit of things. - An option to turn off the hologram effect from using certain EX/OP skills (I know it's probably a modeling issue, but I'd still like it. Maybe allow us to use the skill with an associated part? So I can use my Jigen Haoh skills with any arm). - Please let us name our Gunpla without having to use a blueprint. - And lastly, more variety in the enemies we fight. 90% of them are just base model kits. I understand that it's so people can get the parts they want, but eventually I'm fighting the Zeta gundam for the 90th time. I did find one additional glitch with Awaken where after using your burst, the music stutters and repeats itself two or three times before picking back up with the regular BGM. That being said, the game has been a blast and I'll def keep coming back for different evetns and dlc. Absolutely worth it as a Gundam, hack and slash, and grindy game fan.
Agreed, especially with the music not playing when transforming. I completely missed adding that to the review. That was actually a feature in GB3, where if you Trans-Am'd 00 Awakening OST played and same for Super Dragoon
Im sad that many of the animation when you used buff EX skills like Trans-arm, Zero System, etc are almost the same way, even Barbatos Lupus Rex Alaya-Vijnana and Nobel Berserk animations are "just now you got an Aura, congrats" instead of actually going into berserk like state, the only unique Buff EX that i found and really loved is Scramble Gundam Overdrive mode cuz the Gundam is Actually Roared and whoever enemies that got hit by the roar get stunned and then you got this evil purple like aura for your Gundam.....man that was awesome
@@TerkoizRHG It was the same way in GB3 but it just didn’t have the startup animation. Strike Freedom Dragoon also has a special startup animation but that was also in GB3 as well

Yeah, though I have GB3: Breaker Edition, I think the new scaling options, asymmetric arms and diorama set ups pushed this up to the top of my current wishlist.
I would say definitely pick this game up when you can its a bit different from 3 but not in a bad way. Originally when playing the ONT i thought things would be worse than they are now they actually cleaned up a lot
@@CoercitioYT GB3 has a bunch of UI and localization problems. I'm a parts collector, right? I want every set, in case I want to just build different stuff later on (and it's perhaps a bit OCD, I guess). The clutter is unbelievable and the fact that some weapon names are sometimes identical in the list (because they are in the original specs and there's no getting around that) when you sort through it, there's a bunch of button presses you need to do in order to be able to see that it's from a different kit or keep your eyes on the preview to see that it isn't. When the list for that part class hits the hundred mark and you're checking the stuff you want to sell, fuse, etc, this becomes a bother. In GB4, all parts show the kit's head directly on the list, instantly allowing you to see where it belongs. To someone like me, you can't imagine the massive QoL improvement this is, because in games like this and Nioh, where it's all about the loot for me, the quicker I can manage my inventory after a mission, the better.
@@oboromusha80 Agreed, GB4 is way better localized. The managing parts problem is alleviated a bit since you can hold 1500 but you still gotta sort through them similarly to how it was in GB3 but it’s done way better
Thank you for this video. I have been arguing with myself about getting this game because I was unsure about the combat. From previous vids the game has always seemed very slow in comparison to the vs games. Watch you has shown me that its not as bad as I thought 👍🏽👍🏽
I'm so squarely on the fence about this game. So many of the Gundam games are bad, but this one seems like an exception. I'd love to find one that captures the Gundam magic like Gundam Battle Assault did for me back in the day!
If you enjoy action and hack and slash games I think you would enjoy this as well. Combos are fun to do and once you finish the story build variety starts to open up
Gb4 is farming friendly. Unlimited parts pickup, non limit stage time and update gunpla building system. That all are big plus for builder. Mean while Ngb have more depth and dynamic story but not farming friendly gunpla building simulator like Gb3 or Gb4.
@@CoercitioYT NGB gameplay sucks but the story atleast had replayability in it cuz of how different heroines had their own route(even thought the story is not for everyone lol), while GB4 story is linear and a bit good(they need to give a new story after the ending cuz im so mad when we finally beat the story and then the epilogue said that the is game finally LAUNCHED, why ended it there instead of continuing it post launch or something😭) but the gameplay is MASSIVELY BETTER than NGB by a freaking mile lol
I played a similar game called lbx in the past on the 3ds, i played this game hoping it would be a good substitution for my friends and myself, and after playing it, I can mostly say I think we're looking in the right place, I'm planning on getting them a copy for their birthday.
Psssst…. If your build is lacking punch You can take builders parts like missile pods and place them on the body, even the head, then shrink them and place them inside the head. Gives you multiple missile attacks and you can even have them all fire together in one attack or as separate one
I was thinking of that, but "muh immersion" kept me from being pragmatic. Tho as the missions have been ramping up, I think I'll cave and just do it so I can beat on bosses better. I'm currently running a Byarlant Custom with the Strike Freedom backpack for Super Dragoon EX and Full Burst awakening attack. It's added some much needed firepower seeing as I'm running just the Byarlant weapons. The beam saber EX moves are nice, but the particle "cannon" OP, although good for stunning enemies, lack any real damage. I'm basically a close ranged ariel juggler, and bosses put me in my place if I can't stay close for extended periods (II Neo Zeong beam mode). Great advice to know, regardless, thank you.
@@retroicdescent my pleasure! I’m a Zaku freak and by no means are they OP. I hid a few missile packs and added some scaled down plasma cannon addons to the backpack with them matching green and they look like they belongs (except to the zaku geeks hehe) Now it punches just fine 😉
As someone who owes both 3 and new gundam breaker i never went back on it after first playing a few missions cause i hated playing it 3 i played soooo much so i cant wait to play 4 and put so many hours into it
It is a loveletter to gunpla.. and little else. Wich for a gundam fan is just perfect but i can see how the nonsensical story, the boring stages and the fact that every "mission" is basically "kill all enemies" and ofcourse the non existant AI will turn many people off. You can see where bandais focus was on: selling more gunpla.. not creating a great game. Overall its a step behind breaker 3 but still miles ahead of new gundam breaker. For mecha and gundam fans its allmost a must buy... everyone else though im not so sure.
The same issues you stated this game had GB3 had, but I understand where you’re coming from. The Gundam Breaker series seems to have always been a series that was for selling Gunpla. This game does do a lot of things better than GB3 like boss fights and customization. Imo GB3 only wins with how EX skills and Optionals are

I mean the gunpla part is awesome but there is still a game you have to sell, treating the gameplay part like a redheaded stepchild will not do anything to attract new customers. But hey.. bandai is gonna bandai and i guess we can consider us lucky that we didnt get another new gundam breaker XD I wouldnt say only EX and optionals breaker 3 does better, the stage design for one and builder parts that dont have active skilsl having passive bonuses, the way you master EX skills by using them, the overall story and representation of it (The stakes in GB4 just feel silly, everyone is basically roleplaying nerds if you consider that the devs could just go into offline maintenance mode whenever they want to fix any security leaks offlien without having to "effing delete everything") Anyways the ending was a bit of a cwhatever, so i hope that they have some story DLC in the pipeline for us and not just 1-3 gunpla packs for 15 dollars each before they forget this game exists
@@riptors9777 Me personally after I got to Newtype in GB3 I was not feeling like running through the story again because the stages were just way too long. I like these shorter stages because this way it doesn't feel like I'm in one mission for 20 mins. I think Bandai problem is if it isn't Gundam VS they just don't seem to care to bring a fully polished product for Gundam fans. It's kinda sad considering they really only put time and effort into Gundam VS in JP. They have their 1mil prize pool tourney every year and release new suits and suit reworks. I agree as well I'm not sure if it's Bandai not allowing C&M to put their full effort in or if C&M just overlooked these things. The game isn't in a bad state or anything but the things that are missing are easy to spot.
At least GB3 had actual stage design, exploration and more fluid combat. You cant even take your time in GB4 because of the combo system rushing you from enemy to enemy
@@CoercitioYT Considering the many MANY botched gundam games of the past.. i would say its Bandais fault full stop. Just take Gundam evolution.. they completly messed that one up, or how about Gundam Battle operation 2 on Steam.. that also was a giant f-up because Bandai was handing that project to a small team of inexperienced devs and from what it seems barely gave them any support. Wich resulted in the game having features not working, banning people because the game would cut their connections due to bad servers/netcode issues and the game being hacked day 1 enabling people to roll around in massive mobile armors. And all that because Bandai wasnt willing to actually invest.... Bandai is the biggest enemy of gundams success outside of japan.. would be kinda hilarious if it wasnt so tragic.

There is the Gundam Vs series but we'll probably never see it because Bandai makes too much money from the arcades for it to be profitable to port to console again. The no pvp i can agree with but slow combat/movement just not true unless you're referring to the early game and GB3 and GB4 both have the same type of enemy A.I

Post game content you get to unlock/earn MG kits. They are a lot bigger than standard HG suits much like the kits and usually scales to what ever is your current level Also by having fun with the scaling you can ramp up the scale/size of the kits to match perfect grade kits, tho not the bosses version/giant but just like the size of the model kits you buy for realzies
@@JONtheULTIMATE A lot of the animations besides some of the generic Saber EX skills are ripped right from 3, most if not all the Melee Weapon Animations are mix and matched from all the different combos that they had in GB3. I don’t think they removed a lot of features that 3 had besides the way the mastery skills work and the way EX skills and Optionals work. I didn’t play New Gundam Breaker though
@CoercitioYT the sub weapons is what I mean, not the animations. I enjoy the game but the optional skills come from gundam parts but those parts were also used as normal weapons too. Not just standard triangle/Y square/x combos, your missing weapon spesific skills, and for me personally, because I main lance, lance got absolutely shafted 🫠

I’m on chapter 7 now and I really enjoy this game, I am pretty much satisfied in the level of customization the game allows to the MS. I enjoy the gundam series in its entirety including its “build” sub-genre so the story is fine to me. Looking forward to unlocking all possible content of the game, excluding DLCs. IMO worth my money.
I'm loving it so far!!! I bought it for the PS5 and Switch and I'm bouncing back and forth between the 2 save files. I was excited that my namesake "Exia Gundam" showed up early.
I feel like the new hit Combo feature is holding back the game, the fact that you HAVE to use melee to gain 1 EX point efficiently , i havent played breaker 3 but i do play breaker 2 and it's pretty fun, the funnel barrage and missile spam, the insanely fast punch/claw attack, Vitue GN Bazooka Ball of death, spear melee spam , but in Breaker 4, they nerf it hard, spear ,funnels and GN Bazooka do pathetic damage, Missile no longer spam, and punch/claw need abit more effort + you're likely need an anchor to pull the enemy closer and more.
@@alternative915 I actually made a ranged build in Newtype difficulty it’s actually pretty fun but definitely not as strong as 3. You definitely need to stack the damage upgrades to make it work though

@@jb0258jr I would say this is a good start to the Gundam series. I do want to let you know that the game’s endgame for now is just retrying story and the quests mode with different builds and doing survival mode. It will have DLC but they haven’t announced when it will come out yet

They could've kept the Skill EXP farming system from GB3. They removed the Weapon EX Skill unique to each weapon. Back then, you have to use EX skills often and level them up each get its upgraded version and make it a Master Skill that you can use when equiping other parts. Now, you just need to raise the rarity of a part to inherit the skill. Sound easy BUT it has catch. Using an Inherited Master skill will remove the part you currently have and replace it with the part the skill was inherited from and will render the OP parts and EX skill it has unusable for the durable of the inhereted skill. For example: You have an Aerial Gundam Torso and you used Photon Shield inherited from the G-Self's Torso. For the entire duration of the Photon Shield, you can't use Aerial's Permit Score AND any Option parts and EX skill on the ARMS because the Body is considered Null/Broken. Hope they patch this
I played the open network test and at first, playing 4 felt like a step up but then a lot of the little things became apparent and started to stack up. Like taking scratch damage and getting hit by an enemy spinning dual blade ex skill...and the animation going on for so long that you go from full health to 1% (again from scratch damage). Or the bug that using ex skills from mastered parts overwriting your MG parts into HG parts on use, or removing your weapons. And I am surprised you didn't talk about the AI (ally and enemy) just standing there. I finished a lot of missions on extreme when i shouldnt have been able to at my level because the enemies were only attacking 1 at a time. Gundam breaker 3 had like 65ish story missions while 4 had 36 story missions I guess quest missions count even though they are just the story missions without the story... Also when the hologram part is on, it DOES lock you out of ex skills and ex bursts if they use the same part. You cant have 2 holograms of the same part on at a time. The game in some aspects really gives not tested enough...here's hoping they listen to feedback and at least try to fix things like they did with new gundam breaker
@@malucifer Agreed, I didn’t talk about the AI because the AI in GB3 wasn’t much better either at least the AI in this game combos you with EX rather than just randomly one shotting you like they did in GB3. Yeah I don’t like the hologram thing but I don’t think this will be fixed as they did state in a livestream that was how it was intended to work. When I said it won’t lock you out of skills that was assuming you’re only using things like Optional Skills or 1 time use EX skills. They did say in the livestream that you were only supposed to be locked out of parts that were attached to the mastered part but I may have translated that wrong. I don’t remember GB3 having 65 story missions in the base game, as far as I remember each chapter was about 5-6 missions and it only had 5 chapters but I could be wrong about that. Both GB3 and GB4 have their flaws, for example the tracking in GB3 was way worse than it is in GB4 especially with ranged weapons but GB4 also locks you into animations much more which makes it feel less fluid compared to GB3 where you can freely cancel almost all animations. I still enjoy this game about as much as I enjoyed GB3 though.
I feel like they put so much into the diorama feature that the rest seemed like an after thought. A lot of things about the combat seem like bugs not features especially when its not explained. Like high reaction speed nerfing gerobi beams and whip pull mechanics. you cant even quickly scroll through parts to see what stats would be upgraded, you need to go through them 1 by 1 and read it and see if it has a skill you want to upgrade. Also 4*s and up makes you click a confirm box but the drop rate is SO high that you ended up stacked with them and have loads to go through 1 by 1 and confirm. Its like they designed it to take as much unnecessary time to inflate the play time because there is only 36 story missions. Newtype difficulty is a joke. I think what the main crux of my gripe is that I wanted this game to do well and be much better than it i. Its why im so mad it seems like they made a downgrade to gb3 in some aspects. They could have just ported GB3 to pc and fix some of its flaws and make new suits with the budget they used and that would have made people happy. I just feel once the hype dies down and people realize they played through the beta to be left with an empty game that's only events (when do they even start?) they will fall off and it will end up like gundam overwatch. Bandai will say gundam doesnt do well in the west and stop releasing gundam games in english.
@@malucifer I think people are misrepresenting GB3, it was a good game but a lot of the same issues people are complaining about in GB4 with translations, sorting, upgrading, getting rid of items, etc are in GB3 and are even WORSE in GB3. GB3 definitely did combat better though, I do agree GB4 they definitely went all in on customization and left some parts of combat kinda meh.
@@CoercitioYT I can't really speak for translations since I only played the japanese version. The sorting in GB3 was different and didn't have the ability to sort by abilities. I didn't personally have any issues with it but i only had it sort by name, rarity, id and actually used the filters. It did have a lower cap than GB4 but in GB3 you could just label everything you didnt want and then just sell them in the shop. you can't do that in GB4 because they hide labels in the sell menu. I played everything in japanese so i dont know if all the sorting got messed up when they translated it. I don't think its so much misrepresenting GB3. That game came out 8 years ago and still feels worth the money paid for it. They tried new gundam breaker and that game flopped so hard it cratered. They had GB3, everyone complained that they wanted them to go back to that. They instead built this from the ground up to be released in 2024 with the same issues if not worse. If i could get a refund, I would cause this was not worth what I paid for it. Even the story concept makes no sense. Not content, the concept of it. You play through the beta and when the game releases its empty? The only content is to replay the beta? As bad as New Gundam Breaker was for its mc harem and the cringtastic side quest about his teacher catfishing him because she fell in love with him on the first day *SIDE EYE* at least they tried to so something. the story in GB3 feels like it could have had no story and have the same effect (like GB1) Yes, I do consider the story an important part of the game. I buy a game for the full package. The story was a flop and the combat feels unfinished and not tested enough. The only exceptional part is the building and diorama but even THAT is marred by the oversensative censorship. I can't use my stream name for my charcter because lucifer is offense? I can't name anything knight because it has nig? can't name something titan because of tit? like I get it, you dont want ppl walking around with slurs as usernames but this is crazy. and while you can get by using character map to use those letters like (è) to still spell the name you want. @@malucifer Firstly I agree in that Bandai definitely sacrificed the combat experience in this game in favor of customization and diorama, I’m not sure if they thought that would be the way to get people to play the game long term but I’m not sure people ever played Gundam Breaker to take pictures all the time lol. When I say some people are misrepresenting GB3s localization and other issues: In the Break Edition the same localization issues that are in GB3 are in GB4 when it comes to sorting through parts. A lot of the same ability localization is the same as GB3, you can’t sort and filters parts by the abilities it has (like in GB3) there’s a lot more that people have said should be in the game when it comes to filtering and sorting that just isn’t in the game and also wasn’t in GB3 Break Edition. The same with abilities they are just as hard to understand in GB3 and require testing to know what some of them do. I didn’t pay attention to much to the story in GB3 to be honest but it gave me the same vibe as GB4. You’re brand new to the Gunpla world, get thrown into Gunpla, build your own Gunpla, make a team with other Gunpla Builders (1 SD, 1 HG), take on team/clan battles with that team, then some virus (or in GB4s case crazy player/stolen AI) takes over the system and you fight them to keep the system alive. I overly simplified a lot of it but the premise is still pretty much the same, though I would agree GB3 presented it better with the Visual Art style rather than having everyone meet in the lobby all the time (but I get why Bandai did it, it makes sense if the story premise is GB4 is a game everyone is meeting in. You would usually meet in the lobby it does come off as lazy and knowing Bandai they probably did it to be lazy lol). As for combat now that I’ve gotten to Newtype and almost fully max’d a ranged build the combat is still very enjoyable and while combos aren’t as fluid (rip Optional Beam Sabers from Strike Freedom Legs from GB3) as GB3 they still have their own charm and are very fun to do imo. There is also no content in GB3 once you finish the story and DLC you’re just trying new builds and running the same missions and Bounty Hunter which is fine not every game needs super hard endgame content, no one plays a Sonic game for super hard boss fights for example
As fun as the game is (I love hack-n'-slashes like Musou/Dynasty Warriors and Devil May Cry, so this is right up my alley), I am admittedly disappointed in how lacking of kits certain areas are; mostly with grunt mobile suits. I've completed every quest and story mission begging for a Gaza-C/D/G, Geara Zulu, Marasai, Anksha, or ReZEL to show up at some point, but alas. Also, no Zanscare units whatsoever. And even then, some other omissions were strange to me: We got the Zudah and Mobile Worker but not the Zaku I. I wanted an Overflag; we got two GNX units instead. No Messala, Gabthley, Asshimar, Methuss or R-Jarja, all of which I'm very certain had HGUC kits made. We got a Bawoo at least, but its not Glemy's one; its the Sleeves design for some reason. Someone else said this and I unfortunately have to agree: people who prefer non-Gundams over actual Gundams are a clear minority. But even then, I'm stuck scratching my ass hoping for the anime Wing designs, only to get shafted when I found out that I need the mobile suit of some random guy from Gundam Breaker Battologue to get the TV Deathscythe Hell's active cloak, and only that part was available. And we need more stuff in general that isn't from SEED. Like, the Shuffle Alliance isn't even complete with Maxter (and Spiegel) Gundam left out, and After War X is missing Airmaster, Leopard, and Vertigo. I get that its arguably the most popular non-UC setting in Japan, but seeing SEED shit for the umpteenth time gets old real fast. Also, the lack of transforming abilities/gimmicks (I think the Aegis and Gaia Gundams are the only things that can transform, if only temporarily), and the inability to wield shields on both arms (because I'm an unrepentant freak for symmetry). And attack drones barely do a thing now; they went from overpowered harassment in GB3 to doing jack shit in this game. I'm not gonna say much about the story, as I've given up trying to make sense of the message it was attempting to send. I know that you mentioned the need to choose to enjoy the story, and believe me I've tried, but I just couldn't in the end; its so trope-filled and contrived and the Japanese are such a pro-AI people that its disgusting; it almost feels manipulative. It is definitely longer than GB3, but the smaller maps, faster pacing, and the fact that almost every single mission in this game is a 3-wave clear, sometimes with a boss, no exploration or item searching or anything like that, also makes it more repetitive. But then again, with this sort of game, you most likely aren't going to play it for the story.
Never played a breaker game before or a Gundam game ever 😂 but I like games like monster hunter where I can grind out parts and gear to make me more powerful and I like mechs so may look into this on my switch
One bug I just noticed is that your MS's scaling gets completely reset permanently for the rest of a fight if you use a mastered skill. Hopefully this gets patched cause it means I cant use mastered skills on my Nineball Seraph build without it turning all wonky.
Loving the game, spent like almost 300 hours in 3. Will say this, I have a few nitpicks with the game. The EX skills creating a holographic limb when mastered is really lame and kinda takes me out of it a bit, and the GN drives particle effects not changing color based on the glow color like they did in 3 is a huge step backwards for 00 based builds. On a less nit picky subject, the upgrading system is total ass. It was perfect in 3, and the need for special materials as the only way to raise rarity at all makes making good parts a pain. Combine that with the largely unimpressive new subskills and the suits feel very watered down when it comes to actual abilities. The 2 basic EX actions for each weapon type in 3 was huge, and I used at least one of those in almost all of my builds they were so good, so it's also a bummer seeing them go. Again, I am liking 4 a lot, and the customization is easily years ahead of 3, but when it comes to actually upgrading and using the suits, I can't help but want 3 back.
My main complaint is that it feels a bit horde beat em up and id like to keep this games speed but Battle operations precision basically loose the lock on and it feels like there’s nothing to really do after finishing the story game desperately needs PvP
Between GB3 and GB4 being the only two breaker games I’ve played they both don’t really have much else to do once you finish story besides going back and redoing the missions, bounty Hunter or in GB4 survival with different builds and doing different playstyles
As someone who has played and beat the main story of NGB, I will say that it was as good as could be till GB4 came out, Now don't get it twisted, There is one big thing that ruins NGB for me and it's the lock on... It's like herding unruly cats! And for the love of all things holy and satanic it made me feel like I would break the analog sticks on my controller! Add to it just picking a random target for me to lock on to didn't help... Though I am planning on getting GB4, I just have to say that NGB is ok as a hold over till you get GB4.
Is it a good game to start for someone who doesn't know about Gundam? Because I know zero to nothing about the franchise but the models look really cool.
I would say it depends on what type of action games you like, if you like games more story driven with a plot that keeps you tied to the action this isnt that it's more of a game for trying out different builds and playstyles. Enemies are mostly combo fodder so you more have to create your own fun that the game doing it for you. I would recommend watching a Gundam series before buying it (Just to see if you're interested in what the suits are and what they do, I recommend 00 Gundam)
You mention Desynch being a bug, but no it isn't. As someone that has played GB3, desynch is a natural element of the game that is just there ever since I've known the games.
@@SahiPie moreso that it doesn't really matter and honestly it is better for it as it allows you to string your combos naturally without being interrupted by your partner coming in and messing it up. Plus big targets like the giant bosses are properly synced. I do think that it also allows to spend less ressources on syncing all the infos too.
I still like GB 3 more just because they made the units look more realistic in the garage and in gameplay, GB 4 units look too much like toys (I know thats the idea tho)
I like the new combat animations they have now plus this is close to being perfect but I think what they need now is some good DLC And maybe some cool crossovers like maybe Brin in a character like jack from tekken or maybe a gundam ver. of some other popular Namco character the Pac-Man cross over was cool and I liked it but I wish they gave more then emblems like maybe a paint scheme to use on your models or maybe an accessory or something to use in the new diorama mode like a Pac-Man arcade machine you could place in the diorama
I’m a little sad that one of the few gunplas and one of my favorite the build burning can’t have its basic attacks of punching and kicking because you always default with a sword. Only way is with the skills which sucks tbh.
The problem I have with these Gundam games is the clunky combat/animation. How I wish they'd make a Gundam game with the combat smoothness of games like Armored Core VI or even Zone of the Enders.
Love the game but I really just want new story heavy games that take after armored core or zone of the enders. Code fairy is fun but still not quite the mecha story I'm looking for
Same I really want a Gundam Breaker game that lets us control actual mecha instead of Gunpla, but it seems Bandai will keep GB as strictly Gunpla so hopefully we get another series similar. From soft made a Gundam game way back when maybe they can get them to work on another one (copium)
The story genuinely sucks even compared to GB3 and heck even New Gundam Breaker. It just feels so lazy with how everyting is in the game lobby. I hate NGB, but at least they put in more effort in the story department with CGs and actual backgrounds as opposed to just staying in the lobby. WIth how much of the storytelling and everyone's reactions being based on the emoticons you get in-game, it just feels like its an after thought. This is fine if the gameplay is good but my god yeah its better than NGB but worse than GB3 in a few small but noticably annoying way. MY DUDE THEY BROKE THE FULL BURST SKILL WHERE ONLY A TINY HANDFUL OF PARTS CAN BE USED BY IT.
@@rightsideup6304 I mean to be fair GB3 story is mostly Visual Novel style with usually the same backgrounds, I would assume they have a lot of the story in the lobby since that’s just where everyone is supposed to hang out lore wise since in story we are playing a beta version of the game. I don’t really think the story is worse than GB3, though I do wish the cutscenes when Gunpla were fighting were better
Have not finished story mode, but seems like it be hard to top how bad NGB's story was where you started the atagonists anime villian arc by beating him and gunpla battle as a kid so he makes NGB trash quest system.
The only thing I dont like is the sub skill and ex sub skill. In GB3, the weapon wheel was perfect. I get why they took it out for not spaming, but farming hit for ex skills takes forever.
@@Somewhatblank it does take quite a bit in the early game it gets better once you get into New Type difficulty since they have abilities that give you more bar
A option that is missing is search for the stuff you want i m upgrading stats on parts and i wish there was a way to sort or show only hp increase parts so i only see Those

The model quality of this game is not high, it is closer to mobile games. The combat method is simple. The overall gameplay of the game is not excellent. Although there are customizable parts, it is not gorgeous. Some things are done to pile up time.
I like Breaker 4 alot but i greatly dislike the new stage format compared to Breaker 3. The small areas and fighting wave after wave of enemies feels so repetitive compared to the large mission areas in Breaker 3. Heck even New Gundam Breaker stages had more variety than Breaker 4 stages, imo. Really wish Namco didn't change things. Hopefully the story dlc will give us bigger stages and change from the repetitive wave based structure.
They had said they changed the format so that missions would overall be shorter, I liked the GB3 format too but missions did kinda drag on sometimes which made it hard to showcase builds outside of Bounty Hunter mode.
New Gundam breaker was beautiful... This is where the positives end. Massive grind to just buy a few parts you want. No stats to get a boost in Performance. Pure pvp simulation wich gets boring realy quickly.
Looks ok but I'll stick to Gundam BATTLE ALLIANCE. Atm also have Armored core and soon mech breaker. Namco needs to change the graphics of these games.
That's fair, I dont think they'll get changed unless they move the series away from Gunpla and more towards building a real mecha suit like in Armored Core
@@CoercitioYT Oh for sure but I would even love for them to go even further into the Gunplay idea... I think what puts me off is the low res environments. I think they should really work on how the landscapes look as if it's someone's imagination. Maybe it's due to the switch? Switch 2 can't come fast enough mate.
Currently, I do like this game. But in some aspects it's kind of a downgrade to gb3. The nerf to funnels is so hard. Especially when you realize that in full burst mode, only sf dragoons deploy and fire. I tested all types of funnels, even builder parts. They aint deploying and firing in full burst mode unlike with gb3. Additionally, builder parts don't work in full burst (like ALL builder parts, may it be funnels or beam cannons) they're only used for OP and EX as of right now. I do hope they will fix this soon.
Yeah I would say for sure the EX Skill and Optional System is definitely the weakest part of the game comparing it to GB3. It doesn't seem that C&M put as much time into making sure everything linked up as they did with GB3
@@CoercitioYT true. Im still glad that they retained the abilities, and ex/awakening masteries. Just a little bit of polish in most aspects, and this game can become good
With all the money Bandai reels in from Gundam I have to wonder why these games look so.. cheap. Especially since Bandai published AC6 just last year which far exceeds Breakers graphics in every way. Its too bad that Gundam has yet to receive a AAA gaming experience on par with its modern contemporaries.

@@LordGXK Maxiboost is a hard game to get into, it feels weird at first and then when you get into online matches it can feel overwhelming getting smacked for the first week or so. So it just didn’t survive, at least that’s how I saw it. There was also a game with the Gundam Vs engine called Rise of Incarnates that died but that was due to monetization and also the game being hard to get into
We still play regularly, just no one online in the West. I'd change my settings to global match making and most people play in lobbies. The Japanese have thousands of hours on the game but they're pretty cool once they recognize you as a regular. Most action around 6-7 pm CST , but understandable a lot of people can't get on at that specific time just to get smacked by people who play hours every day.
Oh let me tell you, New Gundam Breaker was AWFUL! The parts you wanted were just scattered and fell off. Also, you only had a limited space to get the parts you want. Oh yeah, you have to DRAG the parts to a drop box and press a button while holding it. You could be attacked. And who is to say that the player AI is also dangerously high. Also, if you want a specific part? Good luck grinding, because it's hard to get enough money for 1 part. Not to mention, you might not get to activate your special moves or attacks for awhile because the game will select your attacks at random!
Its only me or anybody see it to.. GB4 compare to GB3.. i feel like GB4 graphic like downgrade or something? Plus the hack and slash not very flashy as GB3?
@@K7TZ ah if you meant cape as in Crossbones ABC mantle yeah there isn’t a specific mg part, only a builders part but the builders part should still scale for mg size
I believe it depends on how much you will be playing the game. If you plan to put 60 hours in easily I would say it's worth it. If not, I'd say catch it on a sale.
@CoercitioYT i dont think how long you play correlates with how much its worth. finished gb4 story yesterday at 30 hours. I have about 200 hours in stardew valley. Charging it 60 will actually harm the game. Curious players wont try it because you can get Red Dead Redemption 2 for 60.
@@gakuyax All new games from these type of publishers are $60 expecting otherwise just wouldn't make sense, you can always pick it up on a sale. The game is single player you dont need to co-op to enjoy it.
