Reminder that, as a NewType, Bellri can hear their dying screams in his head as those people are literally Ctrl-X-ed from existence... The fact he didn't break emotionally there is a miracle
The Moonlight Butterfly turns matter into sand. This just annihilates matter altogether. This may actually be even more terrifying than the Moonlight Butterfly...
Moonlight Butterfly's terrifying in the sense it's solar system-wide devastation. Photon Torpedo's terrifying in the sense it's a tactical MOAB. There's no radiation, but one's effect is smaller enough to use more frequently against more specific enemies. The other is just a massive universe reset button.
@@SadielHrz That's just it's default setting. The true power of the Turn A only comes out when a Newtype pilots it at which point the thing is essentially a reality warping mechanical god as shown in the Light of Life Chronicle UC special. That's how all the Gundam Timelines managed to converge within its setting because the Turn A quite literally fused them altogether.
The juxtaposition of the harmless looking pretty sparkles and the resultant destruction is very jarring, and the wails of the souls is very haunting. Quite a moving scene!
Photon Torpedo is considered a weapon designed to counter the Moon Butterfly. Photon Torpedo disperses crystals encasing antimatter. Enemies touched by Photon Torpedo are annihilated and converted into light. G-Self absorbs this light as energy. And G-Self is capable of unlimited combat.
Incidentally, it is possible that this photon torpedo was "not made as a weapon". Photon Torpedo was created to convert drifting objects such as asteroids and space debris into energy for long-distance travel. It is like committing a crime with a fruit knife.
But G-Self itself doesn't produce those Crystals right It's not like G-Self is like Hashmal from IBO Series where it has it's own "factory inside it's body". Which mean G-Self has limited amount of those Crystals. Which means there's an end to those bombardment
@@froutroe4969 it's the same as dynamite when it's first invented. The original purpose of it was only to help people destroy rocks during mining, but later it's used as means for killing people as well
You can't blame him for freaking out like that. He _atomized_ those people. Quite literally erased them from existance. That's deader than dead. You can't even become a newtype ghost after that.
Yes and true It is a deadly and brutal kill but at the very least before they died they didn’t suffer like how others suffer from like pop like a balloon from radiation in SEED or getting assimilated by aliens in 00
This whole scene was a call back to Space Runaway Ideon to the Black Hole Generator weapon in Ideon's Chest. Everyone, especially the pilot Cosmo, was completely horrified by it and agreed to never use it again.
Another mecha that had a similar scene is Nadesico, when Nadesico B first used the Phase Transition Cannon. The Phase Transition engine of the Nadesico is an ancient Martian tech that allowed them to bend space time and perform Boson Jumps, warping through interstellar space. This weapon shifts an entire region of space-time off phase, basically erasing everything in the area out of existence. Nadesico B erased the space around an entire fleet instantaneously and it was so horrifying they never used it ever again.
@@GuyWithAnAmazingHat I think you mixed up Nadesico with Y Unit and Nadesico B. The Nadesico B never has phase transition gun. And they actually use it again. Yurika order to shoot it twice in attempt to destroy the black box, and it look like she would spam it if she can.
I honestly love how the actual trigger(or toggle in this case) is covered implying you have to think about the action you're about to take. Another thing is the toggle seems to have some physical weight behind it and maybe the scene was made this way to also display this isn't just something easily used. The implication of this weapon carry's some weight behind it which is physically shown.
Sorry to tell you but all big weapons in real life , no all weapons have something like that the only thing I don't see having that kind of security Sistem it's the cannon from some figthers and these to have a lock Sistem in some way even more efective in preventing shooting it unless. You are sure
@@foxshoot3138 no, some are made intentionally harder to use. It may take some pressure to fire a rifle, but many of the more destructive weapons have covers, weighted triggers, or both depending on severity.
Could be just an artistic decision to animate it that way. To viewers who have no experience or seen an actual weapons safety switch, it would portray the Photon torpedo as a devastating weapon in the scene.
One push of a button turns a battlefield into an invisible antimatter minefield. You can’t see them. You can’t predict them. Before you know it, you’re dead. One push of a button, and everything dies. Not even Unicorn can stop the outcome (unless it does before G-Self uses the McGuffin). Not even ELS 00 QAN-T can understand the situation. Even the Moonlight Butterfly’s wings can decay within the sea of antimatter balloons. When G-Self sprays it’s Photon Torpedoes, the battle is, by definition, over.
Does this also decay Beam Shot or small projectile shot? I mean technically one way I can think of to counter this one is long range sniping, at least Darryl Lorenz or Lockon Stratos level, straight to his cockpit before he can react, so small and deadly so the chances of the projectile hits any of the photon torpedoes is the Lowet One other way is to snipe him using powerful continuous beam shot, like Buster Rifle, to ensure all those Photon Torpedo are used up erasing the initial beam particles. And since the distance is far away, it's possible to keep on hit and running him up to a certain point, it's not like G Self has infinite power supply.
@@trazyntheinfinite9895 interisting, so it's basically "Devouring Mist". But it doesn't mean it can keep on devouring, yes ? There must be a limit for each torpedo, since there are "carcasses" of the MS got hit by it, in the near end of the video. My revision, snipe him some moment after the torpedoes mist start eating, so there will be less torpedoes to deal with. There is also power reduction effect of those torpedoes mist, so... Go and push it to the limit, it's better if the shot is "Libra level", "Memento Mori level" or at Least "Satellite Cannon level", if "Scramble Gundam Rampage" is allowed to transport all 3 Gigantic Beam shots, the chance to shot him down is even higher
@@salamanderred8148 Each bubble of anti-matter is annihilating any matter it touches. So yeah, unlike MBF which can regenerate almost endlessly by eating the non-organic matter while continuously fed by the energy of their host (Turn A/X), this thing just vanishes when all the bubble touches anything.
Anti-particles annihialate substances and convert them into energy for G-Self. The combination of the photo searcher and photon torpedos makes G-self invincible.
My first thought after Bellri started hearing the screams was "get him back to the Megafauna and get him out of that suit before he has a psychotic break". We all remember what happened to Kamille after the Scirocco fight.
Imagine last minute ago there was a whole battlefield in front of you, and next second what’s left is a bunch of corpses floating around with significant parts of it missing
Reminds me of that time in Code Geass where Lloyd tells Nina of the reprecussions of attaching a strategic weapon on a tactical weapon. No one was ready for the results.
That literally broke Nina after seeing the devastation in the Tokyo Settlement. And poor Suzaku for being cursed with the Geass command to live. He was prepared to die, but that one command changed the entire course of the war.
It's even Moonlight butterfly. Moonlight Butterfly is an army of nanomachines that dismantles and destroys matter on a molecular scale. Photon Torpedos are tiny crystal balls created to counter Moonlight Butterfly by destroying the nanomachines to stop the Turn-A from resetting timelines.
