Yup. She saw her own fatal flaws of blindly questioning orders and realized she was no better than Azrael was. That's why she was willing to go down with him, besides knowing she was dead from her blood loss anyhow.
@@BryonYoungblood yes like when she was transfered apart from Murue and the others, she began questioning if she is still doing the right thing only to realize she instead is no different than those corrupt higher ups of her (including Azrael). Like I get that she has the more fitting mentality of a real soldier, but blindy following it while knowing it's wrong does bring in her senses slowly. And her death wasn't in vain too, she took Azrael with her to death which is probably the best thing she could have done.
This scene was great. Natarle seemed heartless at times, too much of a soldier for her own good, but in this scene, she showed her true colors. And I think we can all agree that Muruta died the way he deserved to: going out like a punk, trapped by his own hatred, and killed by the ship he tried to sacrifice during the battle at Alaska.
Don't you dare side with her. She showed her true personality when everything is totally fucked. Who cares now? She should have sided with Archangel a long time ago but continued to support Earth Forces despite knowing that they were not doing the right thing.
@@AakashSharma-le8pm true tho, like in universe no one would ever even remember her in death. The earth force sure don't give a damn about their soldiers (looking at you Alaska incident), all of the witness of her actions are dead by Rau, and pretty much everyone in the archangle would only ever see her as a fallen enemy from then on. So yeah she got it rough for not choosing sides sooner
Yep. At that point, she realized it was OK for a soldier to be human, to defy orders and ask questions about them, given what Murata was going to do. In a way, I felt Natarle also saw herself as a monster for not standing up against Murata sooner, but she was glad to die if it could stop him and for her to make up for her mistakes and sins by saving her old crewmates.
@@AakashSharma-le8pm and how will she do that? after alaska the crew was reshuffled she left the ship and has no way to contact them plus archangel went rogue in her position it isn't advisable to went rouge looking for missing ship without anything plus her personality isn't bad shes just strict but shes kind too especially to flay they are in military in the first place do you expect her to be lenient considering shes a officer
Can we PLEASE look at the way she was horribly tortured? She was shot on the hip, in the leg, in the shoulder, and she still was conscious. Truly a horrible way to die.
Gundam Seed is a top-quality show. This scene shows that so well. I have seen a lot of Gundam series and this one got it just right for my tastes. Highly emotional moments well coordinated with a kick-ass soundtrack.
To me what Gundam seed got right is making Athrun father Patrick into not only a tragic villain but one you can't help feel bad for as it was clear he needed help but never got it also patrick was never truly evil just a Sad man who lost someone he loved and saw his son as a reminder of what he lost
Out of all the Gundam series, Seed is the one that I feel managed to capture the emotional turbulence of each character and the characters' development throughout every conflict. It's so good that most people can relate to the characters and feel for them. Sure, deaths are a gruesome and sad thing, but it is a huge part of our lives. It affects those around us. Help us to grow as a person. Learn from past mistakes and regrets. Hope many animes/movies would consider this approach in their story telling.
I dont think you watch all the gundam series. Seed probably has the shallowest char development of all, even the green tanktop Guy still got more char development than kira yamato
Seed is by far my favorite Gundam series. Though I have not watched them all. Seed strikes a cord with me. and the Freedom will always be my favorite Gundam!
True some people jus watch for the power n robot but in seed is really a story that can be put to real life people that have so much hope as well as so much hate. N people who have power destroying the whole same goes to people who protect …. Never have a anime that can be this good is everything song, story, drawing that matching the whole thing great people who created this
watched this scene back then, Right before knowing that there would be sequel Gundam SEED Destiny. Feeling so heartbroken and emotional seeing both Mu and Natarle sacrificed themselves. Then Destiny was also very emotional, dang!
Stays an insanely well made scene. I just miss the alarm in Mu's cockpit in the remaster, the alarm going haywire really brought home Mu's situation at that moment.
I always come back to this scene, despite having watched several Gundam shows this scene, this episode itself is the one that has stuck with me the most, such a masterful portrayal of hatred, political machinations, the horrors of war and even love, this is the exact moment where SEED went from being just an above average outliner and became a masterpiece, and with that, my favorite Gundam iteration in the whole franchise
Such a shame....Natarle was literally one of the only commanders in all of Gundam history that I liked for some reason. But at least she went out swinging like a true boss!
Murrue is my favourite in the franchise, but Natarle is great because she’s so good at it. She blows the Archangel to hell and almost destroys Freedom single-handedly; a lot of warships in the Gundam series are very passive (Archangel especially but that’s because that crew is actually passive and it’s deliberate) Natarle shows what these massive warships are actually capable of when they don’t have restrictions.
hm.. why do you like natarle tho? shes constantly snitching on her crews with all the reports. which led to entire archangel being abandoned by earth alliance in alaska. report this, report that. following absolute orders. then got betrayed by her own man because of how she handled things. nobody in the crew even bother disregard orders to help gang up on azrael. im almost 100% sure, should murrue be assault like that, the entire crew will disregard the order and save her. natarle got what she deserved.
