In this the second episode of Training with Twig we introduce the placeboard. I have only ever used one board in the past but I am going try two for Twigs basic training. The little dog is now 16 weeks old and is showing great promise and is loving her training.

I found place boards a game changer building blocks for the future.

This is great. I used a place board with the clicker for the 1st time a couple years ago with my German Shorthair pup. I think it made a huge difference in how quickly I could get her to recall, whoa, and retrieve.

Fantastic to see the progress. The heat has been a real buzzkill on training, I have however been working on the hold recently more so then the retrieve with my boy so he is able to stay a bit cooler. Keep up the good work Nick.

Using two placeboards is a good idea. My show cocker dog will sit at a distance fine but struggles with stopping if called to me.

Hi nick im looking for some help I have a 6 month old cocker pup Ftch lines , I have 6 dogs and haven’t had this problem yet ! When I throw a dummy of ball for her she won’t retrieve and if she does she drops it nearly straight away , I don’t know what to do !!?
