The Second ever weapons tutorial! I got a lot of feedback from the first one - so thank you all for checking it out, liking, and commenting! I hope this one is a little more refined :) Gunlance I gotta say is an underrated gun - not the most efficient but its such a fun one! If you haven't tried it, here are some tips to keep in mind :)
0:00 - Start
0:57 - Types of Gunlances

9:50 - Long Shelling Combos
11:40 - Armour, Jewels, Weapons
Keybindings:
V - aimer
ctrl - guard
Left Mouse Click (LMC) - Primary Attack
Right Mouse Click (RMC) - Secondary Attack (shelling)
Clutch Claw - V + RMC (without an attack)
Wyrmstake reload - V + RMC (immediately after an attack)
Quick Reload - ctrl + RMC (immediately after an attack)

Edit: You don't need focus jewels on a wide build as it does not affect the wyvernfire.

I'm glad!! I've always found this game can be enjoyed in more ways than just the meta. There's a bunch of different styles you can use to enjoy this game :) Being fully honest as well, you can find the meta everywhere so for my videos, I'll mention them, but also point out other things too!

Tip for long shelling: you can cancel the W+left click poke into a charged shot. This does 2 things very important things: 1. you get the advancing movement of the poke for positioning/range 2. The poke is canceled so you will never bounce and can immediately chain shelling

You don't need the focus skill on a wide build unless you're using charged shells. Artillery affects the recharge time and damage of wyvernfire, but nothing else affects that besides the shell level and type increasing damage.

Yeee I love these videos. Don't forget that the amount of slinger ammo fed to your GL affects the duration of Wyrmstake! Always go for rocks with Slinger Secret for a 7 minute duration if possible. Also if you Wyvernblast the face in multiplayer expect to get launched for the rest of the hunt :^)

pro tip: if you dont have iceborne, ignore anything involving the wyrmstake attachy thingy move

Pro Tipp: If you don't have Iceborne, it's redicoulos lame to Play this Game. And after 2 Years even people without a Job have the Money to buy Iceborne.

Well artillery comes with raging brachy 4 as well with safi raging brachy can be done with 3 and 2sols. Great guide btw

As @VDViktor stated, I've been looking for tips on gameplay, not just movesets and buttons. I've been having trouble even just getting into the mindset of how to play GL in an actual hunt, like what should my objectives be? What should I be doing if I can't get a Wyrmstake off? I use a normal type GL, should I just be poking until I get an opening or two for FB? This guide has been great!

hey there, @11:00 you charge a shell then point your GL upwards. How did you do that? Someone told me to charge then hold the left stick upwards but it doesn't seem to be working for me...

Hii! Its a tap :) So don't just hold the stick as your charge. It doesn't register if you hold it, then charge. Start the charge, then tap the stick up quickly to move. Once its up there though, you can continue your combo and it won't move from that position until you stop or quick reload :)

Btw Sky what do you mean clutch claw lets you put it exactly where you want to put it? You didn't really explain this in the video. Also I heard some weapons have clutch claw combos. Does gunlance have any?

Is the wyrmstake only for iceborne? I can't seem to reload it no matter how hard I'm trying to aim and right click with and without any slinger ammo

My quick reload is default but ig keyboard inputs are stupid and I get a full reload. Is that why you have guard as ctrl

I believe that came with iceborne. You should be able to if you own a copy of the DLC.
