Thank you. I am ashamed to say I did not have knowledge of either kennel, but I appreciate your knowledge and information. Looks like I better start saving 😊
Can I ask which size Gunner, what breed and weight of the dog please. I have the largest Gunner and am almost at the point where I’m picking my next breed based (among many other things) if it’ll fit in the kennel.
There are things to debate- and things not worth it. People are so irritating. All she did was compare the two, and illustrate the crash rating of Gunner. This is important and something to consider if you have invested in a protection dog or travel with your dog. Seriously, people who got upset- get a life! Thanks for the info!!!
I own 2 Ruffland Kennels. I can attest to EVERYTHING you said in your video. It took MONTHS to receive them. Email response was minimal to zilch. Granted, I ordered special colors, which take longer and I really like. I would use Ruffland Kennels in the house. I would use the Gunner Kennel to transport. It was a very frustrating experience as the customer. For that reason alone, I will not recommend the company.
😁 I love how you would take a drink of your juice like taking a shot of tequila before you would get to the good stuff. Shows how some people pick and choose what they want to hear. Thank you for your honesty.
😂I didn’t see your post so forgive me…..I’ve owned both,…definitely different animals for sure…positives and negative’s for each…I sold my gunner as it was too heavy and awkward to move about from truck to home etc… no doubt the gunner is stronger as it’s heavy as hell! I will say gunner had great support! I haven’t had any experiences with ruffland support however the pet mate in video can’t hold a wet fart…
The Ruffland website claims their crates are impact tested, but you say they are not. Please explain. Can’t really find your previous video you are referencing. Thanks
In my reading on the topic I basically found that during normal crash studies of realistic circumstances the ruffland did fine. It suffered a CRACKED door grate but the dog was contained. It seems more and more like Gunner makes hay on wild unrealistic circumstances, but a dog in a ruffland is definitely going to survive anything YOU are going to survive. I mean, how likely is the falling girder test in this video? It’s mainly an excuse for gatekeepers to get online and shriek things like “a ruffland is not better than nothing” and “They’re NOT safe!” They’re a lot safer than nothing, they’ll withstand crashes, and they’re a lot safer than the crate your wife physically cannot put into her own truck.
@@jcarry5214 thanks for the info! That was the conclusion I came up with, and I eventually bought the Ruffland, and I think it’s totally worth the price I paid. I think this video is alarmist for no reason.
@@Danielle-nz9tn Yeah. "you don't love your dog if you don't buy a gunner" is pure hysteria. I couldn't even get through this lady's whole thing. If you roll your vehicle down Pike's Peak and obliterate your truck but the crate is intact, it doesn't matter how good the crate is because that dog is liquefied, same if the crate falls off the back of a truck doing 60: 1) you're a terrible owner 2) the pet is pudding in there. Or "it doesn't lock!!!" Ok, if you leave the pet in a truck bed for anyone to take, you suck, and if someone breaks into my SUV to take him that same hammer will definitely defeat that shit lock. Good to hear your feedback. My wife has a hard time with the guilt of NOT buying the very best but meanwhile we have no crate at all so I think I'm going to just get the ruffland and then she can upgrade when we get a second animal, or when this one ineviteably dies from us putting him in a ruffland.
@@jcarry5214 yes, go get the ruffland!! I went on a road trip from Eastern PA to upstate MI a few weeks ago and felt very confident my pup (10 month old 65 lb GSD puppy) was very safe and comfortable in the XL. I put it in backseat of my Rogue, but it does take the whole backseat with enough room to position a Ryobi 18v battery fan for summer at crate door. (It could’ve also fit in far back with one seat down). It was his first road trip & I can’t imagine not having the crate as he can get a little anxious in the car. I love it! Can’t stand fanatics that just confuse and scare consumers into paralysis so they can’t even make a decision, and that’s worse for the dogs out there! I was totally turned off by the weight of the Gunner too! Hope everyone reads your very rational comment! 👑
@@Danielle-nz9tn 65 at 10 mo? Oof. We were blessed with a 30 pound runt brittany. He's not anxious in the car but he gets bored and starts trying to get in the drivers seat. He'll even try to get up between the headrest and the pillar. Out west here weekend trips might be six hours one way, he gets lap withdrawal at about 2.5 so we need a cave. Thanks again for the input.
Ruff Land makes a good home and airline kennel. Light and easy to maneuver. Good size and durability for the price. Customer service is doo doo. Logistics are a complete mess. Took at least 3 months for me to receive it. It did not come with handles. I now want handles. They're all sold out.
Ur always going to have those people that r always negative about everything u say or do. There just jealous of u who is an Awesome person and her dogos. Probably wish they where u. I hope u had a wonderful Christmas and happy new year. Thanks for make such amazing videos this Christmas. I know how hard u have worked on each and every video u have done ur really r the best RU-vid out there. Keep up the Awesome job u do on them. Love ur humor too. Tc
Gunner is the best hands down but buy whatever you want or can afford no one cares. but ask yourself do you really care about your pup? if the answer is YES get the crash tested crate ((((:
Bought my ruffland XL for probably less than half of what a gunner cost. Keeps my lab in my truck just fine and funny thing is my dog doesn’t know the difference. If i roll my truck into oblivion my dog is not really going to be my first concern. Around my neck of the woods gunner kennels are for the flat bill, squatted truck hipsters trying to impress others at the stoplight.
Yeah… we bought a Ruffland for a puppy months before he was born based on recommendations. Well… we watched the dog of the person who recommended them get killed in the kennel when it went flying out the back of a truck in an accident. The kennel was then run over and smashed by the car behind them. Our friend is fine but his GSP didn’t make it. The Ruffland kennel will be for in house only. The DU Gunner Kennel will be replacing it as our Truck Kennel.
Thank you for the comparison. It isgood to know pros and cons. There are so many different kennels out there. I chose a ruffland because it is lighter and easier for me to handle. It mostly stays in the house. But i have traveled with it. We put it inside the vehicle, very safe. It all comes down to what is the purpose and what best fits your situation. Do the research people and dont bash people for adding valuable info, for free, i might add.
