I've been listening to Guns N' Roses nonstop lately so I thought it'd be fun to cover this classic! The large screen shows Slash's parts and the smaller screen shows Izzy's. Thanks for watching! Please consider liking, subscribing, and dropping a comment if you enjoyed it and want to see more - thanks!

This was sick, dude! Seen we got the same guitar, I was wondering whether I should upgrade the stock pickups with the Slash ones. What's your take on that? Are you happy with the upgrade?
@Austin_Shredder
@Austin_Shredder 2 года назад
They are certainly a good fit for this guitar! Thanks for watching! If you plan on playing anything metal related, I can’t recommend these pickups. But for blues, classic rock, hard rock, etc. - it’s hard for me to think of a better sounding set of pickups. The stock schecters are better at handling metal for sure, and are perhaps a bit more versatile. But I love how the slash pickups do what they were designed to do. Does that help? Btw, no coil splits with the slash pickups due to the vintage wiring.

Bro, you can recreate spot on covers of all of the guitar masters. What I would love to see, is how you would have played the song if it was yours originally. Explore the space and bring us some Shredder remixes!
@Austin_Shredder

Thank you! I struggle with this internally. I try to put little pieces of me in these - for example I added a couple parts to this but they’re carefully hidden. I also improvised some of the solo. But I try to keep things as close to the source material as possible. I definitely want to experiment more with this idea in the future!

@@Austin_Shredder You have such a talent I'd listen to you play anything...well, maybe not Country and Western, lets not get crazy! You are like a wine expert who can detect subtle nuances that most of us cant. I know it might feel disrespectful to the original artists to completely reinvent their music, and may also seem risky, but with great risk come great reward. Maybe starting with something like you did with Old Town Road, and rocking out a pop tune, or 80's song? That way you have the freedom to make it your own without going head to head with rock guitar gods. Just an idea
@Austin_Shredder

I think that’s a fantastic idea! I’ll have to come across something that really inspires me in that way...Stevie Wonder sounds like he’s calling my name though.

I just noticed you had the pickguard removed from this solo-II. I intend to buy the black with golden hardware and was considering to also remove the pickguard, but it is clear it has a direct drill to the body... In yours it is not very visible, but I wonder how it would look like on the satin black.
@Austin_Shredder
@Austin_Shredder 3 года назад
I’m honestly not sure. You won’t regret getting the guitar though - the features for the price are darn near unbeatable. I’d recommend looking at reverb to get one at a good price like I did. The hole is pretty noticeable but I just ignore it.

@@Austin_Shredder thanks for the comment. If you don't mind, I'd love to get your personal opinion about something... I'm in a bit of a conundrum: Schecter Solo II Custom Aged Black Satin (ABSN) with Golden hardware vs Schecter solo II Blackjack. Personally, it think the Blackjack one is waaaaay better in terms of specs and that's 'just' for extra 350-400 bucks (OK that's not throw away money, but not a fortune either. I could wait another 1-2 months to save that much and buyt it). That puts the Blackjack in a higher bang-for-bucks ranking in my opinion (Yes, you pay more, but you get so much more for it). On the other side, the ABSN is waaaaaay more beautiful. It is gorgeous to me and hits almost all the right notes in terms of esthetics to me (except the pickguard thing, which I absolutely despise in guitars). Whereas, the Blackjack is just... boring! I fear I would feel uninvited to pick it up and play if I owned it. And I keep hearing that feeling like playing a guitar is almost 70% of the journey of becoming a proficient guitarist. Like, you gotta want to do it, or you never will, right? what do you think?

I’d have to say - get what INSPIRES you. Sometimes my $599 guitar inspires me more than my $1,999 guitar. Price tag doesn’t matter to me. I’ve owned a $3,899 guitar before and I returned it because it didn’t inspire me. Sometimes less is more. You’ll still get great bang for your buck with the cheaper option here and you’ll feel more inspired to play it.

honest question: how do you get to make full cover (with all instruments and vocals) and not get the video taken down by youtube?

That guitar is obviously perfect! Can you please share the names of the rest of the equipment, though? Especially the flange? Schecter's about to be bought... now I need to learn how to get that tone! :)
@Austin_Shredder
@Austin_Shredder Год назад
No flange, just a Dunlop 95q wah pedal! ☺️ Neural DSP Plini Crunch Amp with a tube screamer and reverb. Very simple and to the point! If you’d like to learn about this guitar too, I will have a full review dropping this week. Would love to have you view it! 🤘🏻

@@Austin_Shredder Thanks! I just realized the video description had that too - old and blind dude over here :D Yeah, I'm aiming for buying this axe really... tried it today at the store. Gotta say it's perfect in every single way except the wood tone/color on the backside... kinda broke my hopes, as it looked better to me on videos and photos... The strong fight is between this one and the PRS Tremonti Standard. Thanks again! P.S. Guess which song I tested it with at the store :D

@@oliverefremov6633 I’m gonna say…Sweet Child O Mine? Lol! Mine looks fantastic on the back and sides, as you’ll see in the video. Mine even has figuring in the back and these amazing swirls on the side. Good examples are out there! Hope you enjoyed playing it. A Tremonti would also be a great choice.
