Riddle me this:Does any one person receive as much garbage back talk about themselves for being A fan of this perticular Genre of music as much as I have for simply listening to it? Well as far as I do such as being called a devil for just walking around and simply being themselves
Yesterday, there was so many things I was never told Now that I’m startin’ to learn I feel I’m growin’ old ‘Cause yesterday’s got nothin’ for me Old pictures that I’ll always see Time just fades the pages In my book of memories Prayers in my pocket And no hand in destiny I’ll keep on movin’ along With no time to plant my feet ‘Cause yesterday’s got nothin’ for me Old pictures that I’ll always see Some things could be better If we’d all just let them be Yesterday’s got nothin’ for me Yesterday’s got nothin’ for me Got nothin’ for me Yesterday there were so many things I was never shown Suddenly this time I found I’m on the streets and I’m all alone Yesterday’s got nothin’ for me Old pictures that I’ll always see I ain’t got time to reminisce old novelties Yesterday’s got nothin’ for me Yesterday’s got nothin’ for me Yesterday’s got nothin’ for me Yesterday Yesterday
Such a vital part of growing up Fits in with the theme of transition from young sprinh chicken adulthood to full blown widened and experienced adulthood
I love watching this and seeing pictures of the band when they were young. It makes me remember my late teens when they had just broke out and were all over MTV and the radio. Those are good memories of yesterday.
I was newly married, finding it hard to adjust to restrictions/demands of married life. Watching bands like these on screens in the gym etc in the 80's was my brief escape. I knew it was all just fantasy, but it helped keep me sane, dealing with the daily work grind and the realities of my life.
I have always loved this song. It speaks to the early years of GNR - how turbulent and wild those years were. Immensely talented the original line-up was: Axl, Slash, Duff, Steve and Izzy. They were ground-breaking and hands-down the best hard rock band of the 80's and 90's.
This band gave straight- ahead rock a BIG reboot in the 80's when they debuted; it was a hard kick in the crotch to the hair metal that was prevalent at the time ( which I dig , too.) Thanks for the music G ' n R !!!
The guys are great, I really love all the band members, but God... What a sexy, charismatic and gorgeous singer Axl is 😭 I love his facial expressions and movements. He gives himself completely when he is engaged in music.
Axl's best lyric. This man knows his demons: "Yesterday, there was so many things I was never shown/ Suddenly this time I found/I'm on the streets and I'm all alone" A sad, honest song.
This song has everything. The way Axl looks with his hair in a ponytail, his Jean's, the nostalgic feel of the song, the video with pics of Duff and Slash and the other band members, the words, I could go on and on.
FOR WHATS JESUS FLY.!!!!! AN FOR WHATS TAKEOFF!!!!!!!!!! REALS TREU FACT OF ANWEARS.... - FOR KICK,DEATH EVERYTHENG PEOPLES FORR ATRYED MINE EVERYTHENG AN TAKEOFF NOTS JUST USEDS.√√√√√√√√
You guys are a big part of my life . 36 years of it GNR has been on my play list . I have and will always love your work . It is timeless . I was 8 now I'm 45 .
I'm right there with you. I'll be forty-four this August. I grew up listening to this. And so much more. You and I and many others... We were blessed very lucky and fortunate... To have been born in the 70s... The last of generation x. We grew up listening to this this stuff was coming out we were hearing it for the first time on the radios and on MTV to a lesser extent at first... I love this kind of music... From like I would say 1975 right up through 1999... Some of the best music ever written ever produced.... Has paved the way. Because back then... You and I both now... There was no RU-vid. You couldn't reach a global audience by tapping a couple icons on the screen. Oh hell no... If you didn't get your ass out they're on that scene and tour around the country... You didn't make it you were absolutely nobody. Technology has made it so easy for a lot of the artist today. But then again I also believe the nation has been dumbed down substantially since our days of earlier use. My children all five of my girls they don't understand how the hell people like you and I were able to live in what they call such a primitive era of mankind. They don't understand that we didn't have the technology... Thanks for reading my rant. Stay safe out there.
“Yesterday” is now 30 years ago. Think about that. In 1992 (the year I graduated HS) and when this song was released, 30 years prior to that it, was 1962.
I was really sad. A friend died. In 89. I went back to school. To get over it. Started hearing axl 🎵 songs, and life goes on... I'm happy trying to understand what he was saying. And still am. ..the music is universal..carries feelings 🌐 worldwide thank God 😊 🙏 💜
my dad was in his 50’s when this song came out and he wasn’t a big guns fan but he would let me play their cassettes in his truck and he loved this song… Rip dad it’s been 29 years but I still miss you everyday
I also lost my dad recently, gnr was his favorite band. He took me to see them when they released Chinese democracy. Nice to see someone with a similar story. RIP he was too young.
Just a big fucking Yes from us! What a timeless song!!! Axl is such an underrated lyricist, hidden beneath all the LA rock star bravado are some beautifully tragic heartfelt words xx
I think we all did.Who knew the world was about to go to shit and music (for the most part) right along with it.Im thankful for my wife and kids. But I wish my kids were growing up then instead of now.I think they would have a better chance of becoming good human beings.
Saludos...
Slash is so underrated as a guitarist. His solos are never the same and they sound so good, they almost give you a psychedelic feeling. Axl and Slash are probably one of the greatest things to happen to my ears. I was born in 91 and in 92-93 believe me or not my family used to listening to them heavily that I remember somehow. I don’t dislike todays music cause I’m not a terrible person, but GN’R almost seems to find its way into my playlist since I was 15 and never get tired of them.
What a great song I've been listening to it over and over again lately it's just a reminder how you've got to catch time and the moment while you can because it's all becoming yesterday's thereafter
"Yesterdays" Yesterday there was so many things I was never told Now that I'm startin' to learn I feel I'm growing old 'Cause yesterday's got nothin' for me Old pictures that I'll always see Time just fades the pages in my book of memories Prayers in my pocket And no hand in destiny I'll keep on movin' along With no time to plant my feet 'Cause yesterday's got nothin' for me Old pictures that I'll always see Some things could be better If we'd all just let them be Yesterday's got nothin' for me Yesterday's got nothin' for me Got nothin' for me Yesterday there was so many things I was never shown Suddenly this time I found I'm on the streets and I'm all alone Yesterday's got nothin' for me Old pictures that I'll always see I ain't got time to reminisce old novelties Yesterday's got nothin' for me Yesterday's got nothin' for me Yesterday's got nothin' for me Yesterday Yesterday
Nothing got my motor humming like Guns back in the day. The original line up was magical. It’s such a shame that addiction played such a pivotal roll in their demise. If it weren’t for a couple people they might not have even got their break. I still get goosebumps when I crank up Appetite and Lies and play and sing along to every track. I remember like it was yesterday skipping school and waiting to buy the use your illusions out side of blockbuster music. Every song was golden in my ears and never would have guessed those two albums would be the last great music from one of my all time favorite bands
Same man. I remember buying those two albums in cassette didn't have a cd player yet and holy shit how magical that was to listen to the first time and still makes me feel the same. 🤘🤘
A good song with such amazing melody and words. Axel and band musicians know how to perform to a high standard. Expertly performed and memorable. Thank you for video and blessings and greetings and hugs from the north east of England.xoxo
TideFan01 Thank you for replying. My son went to see them and had a great time.I am a fan of them as their songs are well written and performed well. Axel is a fantastic front man and all of them good musicians. I still laugh when tears previous my son took day of work to see them It was a hot day and he got son burnt, not only that but the local news covered event and my son was in front at the crowd. When he went in the next day his boss what not pleased but my son said that he did ask for day off!!! We all had a laugh.
Emily Hi Emily , I think he is an excellent artist and musicians plus song writer. November rain is my favourite. All of the band are excellent.Wishing you best wishes.
TideFan01 Hi , thank you for your reply. I value your opinion. I think Guns and Roses 🌹 bare special as they have proved how good they are. Axel a good singer plus musician and song writer. I admire people who can write good songs. Best wishes for you.
It about time these Use Your Illusion videos are being added. It seems like a lot of people have forgotten how good those two records really were. Everyone goes back to Appetite, but I've always been a big fan UYI.
"El ayer no tiene nada para mí más que viejas fotografías que siempre veré. Algunas cosas serían mejor si tan solo las hubiéramos dejado ser" Hasta ahora comprendo esas palabras...:(
Where are the band and songwriters like this anymore? Tech killed rock took its soul.Guns were the last real rockstars.Too bad they only have a few albums. Izzy and Axl could write some great freakin music.
@@organizedchaos7111 that's it. If they a true guns they must be love this one, but if they aren't a guns fan, they don't really understand about this song...
One cold winter day in 1993 I saw this band and this song for the first time on TV, I was 16. Now I'm 45 and I'm guitar player because of that cold winter day.
I listened to this song almost every day about thirty years ago. The other day I happened to remember and have a great time at enjoying this song. Thanx for posting it!
GN'R es de esas bandas únicas...te transmiten algo especial, que aunque pasen los años sus canciones siguen vivas ! Nací en el 92 y me hubiera encantado verlos en esa época 😭😂
Honey Harley It really makes you wonder exactly what in addition to heroins deadly grip Steven had going on that ultimately was the deciding factor in his being kicked out of the band. Whatever it was it was enough for Axl not to include him in the reunions.
@@garybond5820 It's simple really. They all had an agreement to kick it all together. Steven didn't or couldn't and continued on his way, until his stroke.
