Maybe we have a lot of comfort now but it has made human beings weak. We live in a brave new world, we live in a civilization where materialism is the soul ruler and the search of pleasure through addiction in many forms the reliever of the soul ruler. Because relieve of materialism is necessary for every soul, even the most unconscious one. Gurdjieff would be disgusted by all this, he was already in the time when he lived how people were mere machines with not the smallest tendency to have interior growth and are only interested in material growth. Only god knows where this world is going but seeing the direction the human machines have mechanized it seems everything will derail and as humans in their current state of consciousness can only be victim of what occurs, this being in a positive or negative way humanity stands in front of dark times, or maybe not.
