There are way too many dogs in the Domenican Republic, which is why the non-profit organization Cats and Dogs of the Domenican Republic (DCDR) rescues unwanted or abandoned dogs from the street. However, the foster homes are full with over 100 dogs, so where should the puppies go? The solution is Canada. For years now, Canadian families have adopted Domenican rescue dogs, enriching their homes with a friendly, healthy, sturdy and incredibly greatful new member while freeing up space in the Domenican foster homes for more dogs to be rescued.
