You know…they could’ve just worked out a situation where Walt was the lead chemist, Gale was his second in command and Jesse was the lab assistant. Walt could have named his formula the “Heisenberg formula” to smooth his ego which I’m sure Gale would have honored…him being a fan girl for Walt and all…then once Walt made his money he could’ve retired allowing Gale and Jesse to graduate in their roles. Smhhh

Honestly the amazing acting and cinematography makes up for the tired trope. Hank's look of disbelief and confusion when he unloads his clip to no effect, his screams when he gets shot and then later stomped on.. the desperation when he fumbled with the bullet.. the look the twins give eachother after one was run over, the woman being so lucky he run out of bullets.. Not to mention the tension leading up to it! They managed to make the scene SO entertaining despite the cheesy trope of waiting to kill Hank at the end!

Seriously, the twins are supposed to be these scary professional killers, instead they fire 15 shots at 1 guy and take 5 minutes to do it. When a supposed pro would use 2 shots and then leave the scene immediately.

The scene when Hank gets shot, I could not understand why the series writers had him sit in vehicle freaking out instead of just driving away. Paralyzed in fear when he lost all his DEA agent bravado without his sidearm.

It isn’t just about the formula. It’s how you prepare it too. Even if you know the formula you can still mess it up if you don’t know how to prepare it the way Walt does. Walt wouldn’t want that because of his ego.
