The University of Florida Center for Movement Disorders & Neurorestoration is founded on the philosophy that integrated, interdisciplinary care is the most effective approach for patients with movement disorders and disorders involving a group of circuits in the brain called the basal ganglia. The Center delivers motor, cognitive and behavioral diagnoses as well as various treatments all in one centralized location. Care is coordinated and provided by leading specialists from many advanced medical and surgical services.

Thanks Prof Tanse - this is one of the best videos about the link between gut inflammation and Parkinsons we have seen. We are a company in Sydney, Australia doing research (in Australia and Canada) on infrared laser treatment on the gut and back of neck for Parkinsons, as well as on the gut for IBD (via Mater Research, Brisbane). The PDCare Laser for 20 mins a day, 3 x a week, is enabling the majority of users to improve sleep, mood and cognition, regain motor skills and sense of smell and very importantly improve digestion/usual gut issues usually associated with PD.

Great information! ...On my RU-vid channel we're exploring the connection of the Microbiome and Lymph System and PD. The Lymph moves neurotransmitters to the Brain and Lymph nodes by muscle movement. Walking appears to help.

Thank you, well done. The toxic metal lead can turn membrane lipids rancid on contact. Is lipid per oxidation via presence of lead considered in upcoming research? We all have body burdens of lead in bone 100 to 1000 x's that found in prehistoric bone, and it can come back out of bone when the body is stressed by illness, old age, and pregnancy, when the body seeks more calcium from bone stores. This recirculation of lead comes at the most physiologically vulnerable times. In blood, this could damage BBB membrane, and if in the gut, could probably be another factor in leaky gut formation. Also, during protein synthesis, lead can substitute for zinc, causing mis-folding of the protein, can this affect a-synuclein as well, to cause mis-folding before moving up the neurons?
