So you've had your gallbladder removed and perhaps things appeared to be normal at first, but eventually your gut troubles began and before you knew it you were looking at a diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and no hope of relief from the pain, fatty foods irritating your stomach, urgent diarrhea and gas.
Gallbladder removal has become a common medical procedure in hopes of correcting gallstones, chronic inflammation, pain and even bile duct stones.
Now, fortunately, you CAN live without your gallbladder, but at what cost?

Although. Tbh for me as my gallbladder was toxic to me. It was fused to my liver gallstone 5.5cm my gut probs are minor in comparison. I can live with that. Biggest benefit of it gone is my head is clear chronic fatigue and brain fog gone. I can breathe without pain and haven't been sick or had gallbladder attack since. I do have digestive bloating and bowel probs constipation.

@David Topchiev its just that reading these threads amd watching thesw videos im learning more. I had gallstones and occasionally they would get stuck causing tbe worst pain ever. Now it seems i have to be so careful of what i eat and adding supplememts smd not eating dairy without consequence and i love dairy. Honestly my surgety wad npt even 48 hours ago so its apl new. Im sure trial and error and getting to beore aware about my body will come with time.

@@andreachris5796 how are you doing now? I'm supposed to have my gallbladder removed in 3 weeks time but I'm having 2nd thoughts. Many people regret having the surgery because of complications that they experience after the surgery. How have been since the surgery? Are you able to eat anything now?

@@Rob__James I have zero regrets. I had my surgery in July 2020 after trying to manage my symptoms with dietary changes. I felt like I was having legitimate heart attacks at the age of 30 every time I had a gallbladder attack. I get a bit gassy and have small bits of diarrhea if I’m eating poorly, but I’ve been able to return to a relatively normal diet since my surgery. So far so good.

This is right on! I had many symptoms of a gall bladder going bad from my twenties. I finally had surgery when I was sixty years old. My doctor did not even discuss with me what to expect post surgery. It has been ten years of bad experiences and trial and error. I have reduced fats, especially dairy fat, but am going to try bile salts. Just hearing this lecture makes me feel so much better and have hope for some relief.

I had to have my gallbladder removed when i was 12 years old and after that my life changed for the worse, my doctor never explained any of this when i was recovering and never checked in with me ever afterwards. I struggle with bile just leaking into my intestines no matter what i eat really, my family tried to be my own doctor for so long and just tell me to "eat a salad" which was bull. I'm so glad that I've found this channel and this video especially because now I know i'm not alone and that my problem here is a real issue and valid. I wanna try to educate my parents on what I can eat and do to better help my issue, as well as myself. I hate feeling bloated, being stuck in the bathroom, or not being taken seriously just because they've never experienced this or can't comprehend it. Thank you so much for educating and helping me today.

Same here. 30 years. People can't even imagine what is it like to live with diorrhea after eating anything. And trying to keep it discrete. 2 weeks ago, I had to cancel an event that was obligatory at work, because I couldn't get away from the toilet. So I needed, the firstvtime ever, to ask for a doctor's note to prove I wasn't well, to givecto my employers. The doctor I visited for the note - who is a gastroenteriologist!!! - was so rude to me, telling me I'm a fraud, trying to cheat amd skip work , and she never heard such thing I'm trying to lie there, that I run away from her office crying loud like a child. After 30 years of suffering, a doctor tells me I'm lieing and my problem that they caused doesn't exist. I take some liver enzymes for digestion , that helps. But I found that myself, after researching and trying things.

All I can say is THANK YOU!!!!! I was suffering horrible symptoms for 6 years, went to see so many doctors and a naturopath and been to hospital a couple of times before a doctor came to my house after not being able to move or stop vomiting. He hardly spoke any English and took one look at me and knew it was my gall bladder. After a week in hospital because I had such a bad infection in it at it was loaded with stones it was finally removed. 5 years on It has made so many things better. But some of my symptoms have never gone away and I thought it was just me. I bloat after every meal and after some meals I look like I’m 6 months pregnant. I always feel like I have an upset stomach all the time and my farts are better than my boyfriends 😂😂😂 I also get great constipation most of the time. Constantly tired and sluggish with no motivation. The only way I get any relief is by not eating much and when I do eating like a rabbit. Thank you for letting me know I’m not alone and for letting me know it’s not normal and there is something I can do about it. I look forward to going through so many more of your videos and getting my gut health back on track to be able to enjoy a life and hopefully being on top of the world!!

Yes but theres is no other choice, but to remove it when sludge or gallstone develops, you also have to explain that there is risk and serious consequences if you don't remove it such as getting pancreatitis or have it burst inside of you and even more risks involve. Using olive oil and lemon won't work for everyone to flush it.
@Coco-ny5wh
@Coco-ny5wh 4 месяца назад
If it works for some though? Why can't it be tried. Surely a gallbladder clinic needs to be formed. Aiming to keep it threw all the other non surgical routes. With scans and follows ups to check what's going on, diet change support too. Many people really struggle to know what to eat and what's truely healthy. Everyone's case is different. Something with one stone and infrequent attacks, compared to someone with loads of stones and one stuck in the bile duct and the complications that come from that, is a different situation. Not everyone with stones with get to that point at all, longer it's left though of course the worse it will be. Surely there is another way to treat this

I haven't had my gallbladder for 14 years. Things aren't perfect but they're better. I was feeling ok at first, but that's because I was eating lots of fruits and veggies and avoiding junk. Then I started eating more processed foods and that was horrible. But for about 8 years I've been alright by sticking with less trigger foods. Also, I don't eat animal products so that helps, but it doesn't alone solve it. I significantly reduce fats (even good fats), starches, legumes, and processed foods *in the early part of the day.* Particularly morning. They just trigger my stomach. Doing this has helped so much. I have to start with fruit and maybe some oats or bran flakes. Nothing super dense. Then after an hour or two I can increase legumes, nuts and seeds, starches, and even some refined foods throughout the day. I cut out alcohol 2-3 months ago and that helped even more. I also just cut out caffeine, and again, helped. Both of these things just do not sit with me! Alcohol causes problems the following morning. Occasionally I can have a digestive problem. But being consistent, especially during mornings after those hours of fasting, has been the biggest help. When I was sick a lot, I was eating tons of white pasta, white breads, oils and margarines, starches, processed foods. Now I eat WAY LESS of these. But starches don't cause me problems if I eat them after noon. Some of these foods are ok if I eat them *later*. Example: I'll have potatoes and cold pressed oils for dinner but not breakfast. Edit: Oh yeah, and I do better eating small, frequent meals just like she says in the video. 🙂 ❤️

Change one thing at a time and see how it feels. Sorry you are ill. 😣 I totally understand. Avoiding high fatty foods and processed foods is very helpful in my experience. (Especially in the morning.) Something else I forgot to mention is I get regular hunger pains that wake me up at night. All started after the removal. But they weren't as bad at first. They'd go away after eating something small. They've gotten worse over the years and don't go away so easily. I am going to the Dr next week to talk about it.

Everything this lady says is true, although my story confirms it via having no-side effects due to a proper diet. I had my gb out some 3 years ago (at age 62) with absolutely no pain at all straight afterwards, not one pain killer in hospital nor any pain killers at home. I have had no dietary or bowel side effects in the subsequent 3 years. So, these facts indicate that simply taking out the gb does NOT have to leave you in bad health for the rest of your life. HOWEVER ... when people say things about the after effects of gb removal, such ailments may not specifically be the result of the removal but of something else in their bowels and/or their "usual diet" which, if left unchanged, will make the body behave just like it was BEFORE the operation or even worse. Many people say "I can no longer eat my normal diet". But the bad after effects of the removal are mostly dependent on what one considered before and considers now to be a "normal diet". I had been a strong, healthy, not overweight, not diabetic, lacto-vegetarian for 30 years. Wholefoods, no junk food, no alcohol, no smoking. Since having the gb out, I've not needed to make ANY changes to my diet to remain just as healthy as I was before. The gallstones were, I believe, caused by 20 years of using only powdered full cream milk (it is hydrolised cholesterol, 4 x times more likely to make gallstones) as I had no fridge in the forest for fresh milk. So I've cut that down now! I never had before, nor ever have to now, run to the loo. But if one's previous diet was lots of meat and fats and McDonalds and pizzas and milk and biscuits and processed foods and alcohol and overeating and eating late at night and snacking all through the day, and one hasn't since changed it for the better, then they can fully expect to have nasty post-operative side effects and bowel problems into the future. Such diets were undoubtedly the cause of gb stones and associated bowel problems which have been worsened by having the gb taken out. One can thus expect troubles because they do not have the bile reservoir (gall bkadder) that nature gave you. The gallstones were caused by too much cholesterol and bilirubin which the liver and gallbladder could not handle back then. So losing the gall bladder should definitely motivate a person onto a better anti-gallstones diet than before.

I have always used full fat yogurt and creamer in my coffee, so obviously I will change those thing. I will be having this surgery some time in the next month or two (delayed because or Covid19) and I would love to hear what you do, what you eat and supplements you take. 4 years after gallbladder removal and I had gut issues and diarrhea for 5 months. The slight ache inside from the surgery has gone away after 1 year. I have cut down PROCESSED fats, greasy, carbs and sugars. Knowing the little amount of bile that flows from the liver directly to the intestines gives me a good understanding of how much of healthy fats I should eat. Healthy fats i.e. almonds, walnuts, olives and fish oils works for me. It is all about listening to my own body. The body is an amazing masterpiece that will heal itself if we feed it with wholesome healthy food, and live a healthier lifestyle. I had constant bloating after surgery but no pain or anything else. In the last 2 years I’ve had severe bloating in my gut (right under the bottom of my lungs) so I decided to do a whole “gut health” change because I have autoimmune disorders. No sugar, no processed or fast food. Was doing really well, like noticeable well until the good bacteria started fighting with the bad bacteria but that passed and everything was going fine... I started eating less and only once or twice a day about 3 weeks ago and OMG! My stomach bloated so bad and the pain was so much worse when my stomach was empty then the pain got less when I ate. After being in the hospital a few days ago, I’m back to eating small amounts of food throughout the day. My theory is that the bile is constantly dripping so eating small amounts of good foods all day including pot set yogurt with bran and healthy fats is the way to go... 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hi Alyssa, I just found your video. It’s for my mom. She’s 80 yrs old. She had gallbladder surgery 3 weeks ago. She started off well, but has been suffering for the past two weeks with on & off diarrhea, vomiting, bloating, and constipation. Note: years ago she had diverticulitis surgery. So she has a short gut. She was better before than now with the gallbladder removal. The surgeon did not explain anything to her about these types of possible side effects. She’s lost her appetite and is losing weight by the day. I am very concerned. We called the surgeon and after a few days of several calls he replied and told her that some people have this reaction because they lack an enzyme for digestion. Is this the bile salts that you are referring to? He ordered a very large pill for her to drink three times a day. Since then, she’s been worse. I also read that after gallbladder removal, sometimes it’s common that the small intestine twists in the space where the gallbladder was. Thus, forming diverticulitis. I could really use your advise on this matter. The Dr.’s don’t seem to think it’s a big deal. SOS! Thanks, Ani

Had my gallbladder removed 7 months ago after gallbladder "attacks" were getting more frequent. It was perfect for about 3 months, then things changed. I developed regular nausea, diarrhea, and a burning pain where the gallbladder was. Also, I am very fatigued, which is something I was not at all prior to this cholecystectomy. So for the last 4 months I have been dealing with this on and off. The surgeon is no help. He just says the surgery went perfectly and nothing is wrong with that. My GI did an endoscopy and colonoscopy and those came back clear with a minor report of gastritis. I am on Prilosec 40mg for about a year now, sucralfate for healing the gastritis, and Questran for bile salt diarrhea. Still get upset stomach and mild nausea and I can't link it to anything I am eating. It is random. I mentioned bile salt supps to my GI and she said no that won't help. She said bile salt is what is contributing to my diarrhea. I have a follow up with her in a month, but as of now, they have no suggestions on any treatment or anything I should be doing. Really frustrating. Any tips on what I can try so I can feel normal again?

This can be helpful and I recommend testing first. While yes, those without a gallbladder in some cases can benefit from Ox bile, more often then not, when I look at clients test results, they don't require it. Their symptoms are coming from infections, damage and other deficiencies that were never addressed.

I had my gallbladder removed 5 years ago, and for the 1st yr afterwards, I had a lot of problems, even ones that usually don't follow & it was truly ongoing... But now I don't have any issues at am, not one. I haven't has for over 3 1/2 yrs. I even forget that I had that surgery until I see a video about it. Is that ever normal???

ugh, sadly sooo familiar. Before I had my gallbladder removed, I was healthy (or at least had a better quality of life) and now I can barely eat any of the foods that I love, whether healthy fats or raw veggies. I would deter anyone from the surgery but I was a new BFing mom at the time and in terrible pain, under rested and under supported, etc.

Hi, I had my gallbladder removed in 2008 and have experienced problems in the last few years. Mainly nausea and every now and then I have a few bad days with frequent bowel movements and nausea. My Dr prescribed ursofalk and it has helped the daily nausea but still get "flares" sometimes. My question is if I have bile reflux would taking bile salts make it worse?

I never, I mean never had a gallbladder stone, pain or any symptoms. I have always lived a health conscious lifestyle since my early twenties; proper nutrition, exercised for decades, and maintained my weight. I had one gallbladder episode and when I went to the ER, I had 7 doctors, separately come and talk to me insisting I needed a gallbladder removal. They were relentless and bullied me into the surgery when I said no thank you over and over again. I was in tremendous pain, I walked in about 6 pm and they rolled me into surgery by 10 pm. Worse decision of my life. They said you will have no side effects from the surgery. I have malabsortion problems now forever.

You need Ox Bile Salts or try TUDCA because your bile is no longer saturated because you don't have a gallbladder..So you need assistance from outside source.Ox Bile does help in your body to absorb the food nutrients.

I went to homeopath other day I have constipation. He told me to take aloe Vera colon cleanse. Take it in the evening. So I did. And it helped. I went to toilet in morning and no pain. I won't take it every day. He told me not to take the husk one either. (it was on the shelf below)

11 years ago I had a hiatal hernia operation, during which my galbladder and spleen were removed. a few weeks after this operation, I started to have very severe pain in GB area and stomach top (hernia area), which came on with every bowel movement (15-30 min) and lasted for about 10 months. I have fallen ill several times in the last 11 years, lasting anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months. Since a severe food poisoning in late 2017, I have almost been sick constantly. What I have found is that fatty food is no problem at all in periods when I'm not sick. When people are over 50 years of age, the GB function is reduced, hence 50+ group develop digestive problems more often. The possible answer to my 11 year quest is probably a combination of pathogenic bacteria that are overly present in my gut (SIBO / Dysbiosis = Microbiota Unbalance). I have had an FMT (Feacal Microbiota Transpl.) treatment which most probably fixed an C.Diff (bacteria) infection, because symptoms are reduced by 50% compared to before. What might still be bugging me is SIBO / Dysbiosis, which I have found a medicine for and this will arrive next week. This treatment is a Bacteriophage treatment. It's a bacteria specific virus that kills ONLY the pathogenic bacteria, without harming the healthy microbiota. It also has a healing effect on the intestine lining. Bacteriophage Treatment clinic is in Tblisi, Georgia. It is advisable to have a comprehensive stol test done first, which will map your microbiota balance. Also be tested on the presence of possible parasites, which can cause similar symptoms. NEVER GIVE UP, AND NEVER ACCEPT ANY "SYNDROME" DIAGNOSIS, because a "syndrome" is a fancy word for "I don't know". IBS, GERD etc. simply do not exist, and are merely the result of problems in the Microbiota health (balance).

I think your microbiome is very important. So.eoour gut bactreia bugs have been on this planet a long time. But your brain rules and create stress, worry and anger which brain mapping sees and can help your body chane6 thoughts which stresses organs.

I am a 33-year-old girl from Greece and 3 years ago I had a gall bladder removed. There is no problem with diarrhea and irritable bowel syndrome before this . A year after the operation and while I was taking some vitamins for my hair, I started having morning diarrhea. As soon as I ate I went straight to the bathroom before I could finish my food. I went to the doctor and had a gastroscopy and a colonoscopy and several other tests. All good and absolutely no inflammation. At some point and as soon as I cut out the hair vitamins the diarrhea stopped and I was back to normal. However, every time I got sick and took vitamins, gas, morning diarrhea started immediately after I ate something, even with vitamin c and maybe with d. Especially for 5 months since December, as soon as I eat in the morning I will go to the toilet 2-3 times...no diarrhea every time , but I have a need to defecate. I don't take any vitamins and I did fecal calprotectin which is within the limits. The doctors tell me it's ibs-d, but it doesn't leave my mind that the removal of bile plays a role! doctor every morning as soon as I eat I go to the toilet immediately 1 or 2 times. what can I do ? Please, I would very much like your opinion. thanks a lot 🙏
