There are no parents now. Parents all want teachers to parent their kids, without having the actual authority of a parent. My wife is a 3rd grade teacher and last year a parent told her "I want you to make my child an overachiever". That's not my wife's job. My wife's job is to teach your kid the specified curriculum. If you want your kid to be an overachiever YOU make them one.

Once, I was 12 and my little brother was 8. He nyuk nyuked me. So I poked him in the eyeballs with my index fingers. No joke. C'mon man. (Makes you think its a lie, huh? It really happened. ) I'm not even sure Mom found out about it. Once the little one did something to me and I chased him through the yard with our bb rifle. He was climbing a tree to get away. We began homeschooling our teens during Covid after years of public school. My only concern would be that the state does not decide it has more rights to tell us how to educate. However, we already have state requirements. The public schools are federal laws? So perhaps this is ok as long as the feds are out of it. BTW - Lot of fantastic curriculum avail and our teens' test scores have increased. Younger son dramatically - %age wise, not due to getting older. Lots of social activities/time as well.

I remember when I was in the 6th grade and all the girls in my class were reading the Judy Blume. Novel book Are You There God? It's me, Margret. It was a popular book among the 11 and 12 year old girls. Meanwhile the boys in my class would read The Outsiders Novel by S. E. Hinton. We never dreamed that one day it would become a motion picture movie 🎥 at the theatres. That's when school was school not like it is today where teachers don't want teach the students about all the great literature books that were written by great American writers or about the different famous writers from around the world like Shakespeare and Robbie Burns and the famous Irish writers from Ireland. Like James Joyce and Oscar Wilde, Bram Stroker when you hear that name you automatically know who he is and what books he has written, the last one is William Butler Yeats. No the teachers of today from grade school to middle school to High School and higher education learning want the students to be uneducated and stupid. That's these teachers primary goal to achieve. 😡

You can't just blame the schools for failing children. You have to also blame the government & the parents. Parents can't be there for their children or discipline them as needed. My butt found a belt many times, but now that's illegal. In a horrible economy both parents are forced to work. & some children are below average intelligence due to genetics. Nobody ever mentions my home town Naples, FL… Leave it up to one of my top favorite shows of all time to mention it while I’m sitting here watching. the only real problem i see is if too many kids end up in one school and there is no room or enough teachers to do the job correctly. "bad" schools will be almost empty other than the kids whos woke parents want them there.

There will be a transition period, but I really see schools getting smaller and much more specialized. You'll see private schools from Google Apple etc doing non-profits and the like. Then you'll get private accreditation orgs, performance score cards, union vs non-union, etc. But all of it at first will be limited in budget unless they can get parents to pay a premium, which many will absolutely do. Education is about to go corporate franchise. It'll be like college with some state and federal budget but also supplemental tuition fees, etc. The whole point is competition will force schools to perform to catch dollars. Only the neglectful parents will send their kids to crappy schools because they don't care or it's the closest to their house, etc. The only problem is schools will still coddle to kids because they don't want little Jimmy to complain to mom that the teacher was mean. Some parents will blackmail schools to look the other way or the parents association will pull their kids, etc.

Nothing like a dictatorship, but oversight so that states don't get too far out there, like they are under a Democrat Admin. We have to eliminate the CRT, Gender Discussions about mutilation and choice...as well as the LGBMNOP crap. Let those things be outside in the free world...and educate our kids in the things that matter for their future; like reading, writing and math for ALL.

My son could not afford his rent as his landlord stated that the sharp rise in the property taxes on his rent house has driven up rent. Most of their monthly income went to rent,water bill and car insurance. Their dryer went out and their washer went out along with their car. They had no money left to survive. They moved into a travel trailer on my property and with the extra load on my washing machine it broke down. My wife and I just got through paying out thousands in property taxes and could not afford a new washer. We were without a washer for over a month and used a local laundry mat that did not do a good job of cleaning our clothes. My grandsons school called CPS on my son and his wife for my grandson wearing a coat that was not up to par with the schools expectations. The public school system has become a detrimental force taxing property owners out of their homes,teaching our kids destructive liberal ideology and breaking up families. Here in Texas the school buildings are more expensive palaces that are nicer than most children's homes who attend. A big coalition of property owners are fighting to eliminate the criminal property tax in Texas and we should eliminate the criminal public school system as well.

Here's the thing. Parents with different values can choose the school they want their kid to attend. Years later, those kids will compete in the job market. So fair is fair, it's Bobbie the AI robotics programmer vs Betty the twerking coach, and supply and demand will decide. Plus, statistically democrats are made up of the most educated people in this country. While, STATISTICALLY, Republicans are made up of those with only a high school degree or LESS. @@johnp1366 the left aren't compassionate in government. They think that taking the earnings from one person and giving it to another they portray as needy is compassion. True compassion is digging in your own pocket and giving it to a person you see as needing it . One day my grandson and I were at the $ store. An obvious homeless person was in the parking lot. I asked my grandson if he thought we should help him. He said I was going to ask you if we could. I gave him some money which I hold for him as he helps me and I pay him. I asked if he wanted to give it to him or wanted me to. He did so I watched as he did. The man talked with him and then came over to me and asked if there were any conditions with the money. We told him we thought it might help him have a better day so that was all we had in mind. He thanked us and went on. Said he would pray for us. What the left and those who vote for them are doing is pseudo compassion. It kinda looks like compassion, but it's not.

The real eye opener is that this could have been done years ago. Although the allot of parents use schools as a form of day care...and free food. Now the Eyes are open. In remember when my mother sat in the back of my homeroom class in 5th grade. Back then schools allowed that

The push by educators (and Google) to only post assignments online is a big part of the problem. And this started before Covid. Parents need to be able to see what their kids are “studying.” I always insisted on hardcopies of assignments. Imagine my surprise at finding my child’s 9th grade “gender packet” on the kitchen table, way back in 2014.
