Great point! Any artist in any art form, not just music, does well to take on board what he said. An artist has to get under the cliche and understand why it worked so well for so long. That's in music, acting, writing etc.

Very wise words that make completely sense, just because a cliche has a negative tone doesn't mean that it ain't good.I wish I had written all the cliche's then I wouldn't have to keep workin' my balls of as a musician,lol,this I mean as a matter of speak cause I love my trade,Vic.

i would love to see him play over some rhythm changes, coltrane changes or sth. then i would be 100% sure, he can do EVERYTHING. well, now i'm about 95% sure, so that would just be a thing to seal the fact that he's not human.

I think every guitarist, after decades of playing, knows many styles of playing. I personally do not own a single song of Guthrie but respect his talent - which is an inherent problem in the future. The "vituoso" guitarist is dying and frankly nobody cares. Mike Varney is not putting floppy records of Joe Satriani inside Guitar Player Magazine anymore. Times have changed and if you are only getting income from RU-vid videos, with lessening views each year, it is time to find a way to make it happen. In 10 years, who is the guy we care about? Exactly.
