I’ve always liked mythology as a kid but it didn’t really kick in until I reached adulthood and I wanted to learn about the various myths that humanity created to try and explain various phenomena. It’s very cool.
It very much played out like how the Kratos and Spawn death battle did. Olympus is a powerful plain of existence, but pales in comparison to the forces of heaven and hell, Spawn punching Kratos out with his overwhelming hell power, and Sun Wukong doing a similar thing with his heaven powers.

Do you know what's scary? The art of 72 transformations wukong can do doesn't give him 72 transformations, it gives him the ability of BOUNDLESS transformation. He can turn into ANYTHING except anything omnipotent, this includes a version of himself as powerful as any opponent he is fighting, yea... Sun wukong is broken. And the 72 things? The 72 represents the number of extra lives the ability gives. On top of all his layers of immortality, you have to somehow kill the monkey 72 times before he croaks. And he can multiply with each clone also being able to transform the same way. TLDR: sun wukong is the embodiment of a BROKEN character.
@@Gutslove what's scary is that buddha never beat him in power. Jade Emperor and buddha are meant to be close in power since jade was terrified of the monkey then sun wukong could fight buddha, so buddha outsmarted the monkey and beat him that way. He was the original OP character.
number 72 dont mean he actually have 72, just a poetic name from 72 constellation, to make it sound cool. Some people love to make any stuff cooler or more romantic , something like that. We humans dont change at all until of today.

fun fact! deamon has a different meaning in both japanese and greek traditional storytelling. While the Mazoku is used to mean supernatural and often evil beings, and yokai is.... well, all sorts of things, daemon in greek simply means any supernatural being that is not a god. including things like supernatural animal spirits and the living forced of nature, e.g centaurs, dryads and the like. So it's an appropriate thing for Hercules to identify sun by and for sun to just... take.

Sun Wukong is like king of In Japanese mythology and fantasy, mazoku (魔族) are supernatural beings, normally evil ones such as devils or demons.[1] A maō (魔王) or maou is a ruler of mazoku, or in fiction more generically a dark lord or powerful monster.[2] Because the Bull demon king is a powerful mazoku. Now if we pass this to isekai just for ragon Bulldemon king and wukong are already stronger than the isekai ''mao''.
Sun Wukong's japanese name is Son Goku. Hercules (Heracles) was basically the greek version of Superman... so this was basically a prequel to Goku VS Superman. and this time, Goku won. and i like it. also, it'd be awesome to see more mythological fights, or even warriors from real-life history. :D also also, seeing you going total fangirl over Wukong is wholesome. :)

at the end of the day, DB's Goku is... a martial artist with alien super power. yes he reached "God" but the concept of god in the DB-verse is kinda vague (imo). The one that can be considered "God" is Zeno (afaik), while the other so-called-gods are more of an "world administrator" or something and Goku is still far away from challenging Zeno. compared to that, Superman is just too strong for his own sake, which is a blessing and a curse at the same time. He was so strong that many authors added weaknesses to him to make the story more appealing, because who'd enjoy a story where the hero never loses (or at least struggle). From Krypton to Magic to his mental state...
😂 But superman wannabe goku with power ups, transformations, new forms, meditating, iconic moments, training, fusions, time traveling, dimensions traveling, realms traveling, etc...... Superman even copy paste sun wukong armor, alien to gods/demons /humen, eye Lazer, eye version, disguised, live outside city, wannabe gods or demons or surpassed them all, stories, main characters, immortal, indestructible, jumping super high, flying, hide from public, etc.... All characters nowadays are following sun wukong foot steps with stories, spiritually, character developments, invincible, training, strongest, abilities, skills, times, beyond all gods/demons /mortals, etc.... He was the first to surpassed his authors(fictions) and all real life religions (reality). These are only 1/100 of his abilities and stories.
Gotta love how when they asked if he can beat goku, everyone I think agrees that wukong claps. Ik goku is multiversal at this point, but wukong casually carried infinity. That'll always be more impressive
Sun Wukong would definitely beat Goku, because Goku can't transform or create more than a few duplicates (and when he does so, his strength is divided among the copies)
@@Gutslove Until Goku asks Puuar and Oolong where the transformation school they went to is, and attends and learns how to transform, power levels are irrelevant. In fact, that was why Toriyama introduced power levels in the first place, to demonstrate how meaningless they are.

Cutting in here to defend my boy goku since the man has limitless speed and power feats plus haki which is the ability to erase immortals from existence so I mean he might have it. I love both btw
I honestly thought Heracles (which by the way the first I discovered his real name was in Smash Bros 4) was gonna win because i figured from the analysis, he fought many beings somewhat similar to Wukong. I also deep down wanted Wukong to win but I didn't want my bias clouding my judgment (as I am a Dragon Ball fan, I also seen Wukong in the Warriors Orochi series, and I liked what I saw in the new Sun Wukong video game). Ironically when it came to Sun Wukong I knew very little of him since I never read Journey to the West, and all I know came from different interpretations of him. And seeing how Wukong acted like in the battle when i first saw, I grew attached to him very quickly, so I was kinda happy about the end result.
the question with the Six Eared Macaque, it's hard to say, but i'm leaning towards yes. considering how in the original book Macaque and Wukong were almost perfectly matched, and it was only with the Buddha's assistance that Wukong was victorious. so seeing as how Heracles lost to Wukong, I imagine he'd lose to Macaque too.
he'd lose to all 4 of them, all of the 4 monkeys that don't come under any other category of creature are equal in power. It should be terrifying there are 4 creatures like sun wukong.
I'm not sure how many people could seriously not admit Wukong beating Goku (at least assuming thet even know what they're talking about) Its simple, Wukong is a higher percentage monkey thus is stronger. The literal only way goku can possibly win is via haki but I dont even know of that would work since I dont know if sun has existence erasure resistance
Also it mean that Sun Wukong is a god of monkey in a way and that is cool for me my favorite god in mythology in general is Dionysus i even got bronze statue of Dionysus and i love it .
the peaches does not give more layer of immortality it only gives longer lives based on the years. but it dont really matter monkey was just unkillable no matter how u look at it
fun fact heracles vs sun wukong is surprisingly a very famous matchup in the webtoon god of highschool you have a fight between a weakend clone of sun wukong vs the descendent of heracles i am sure thers even more fights like that in fiction that i am not aware about
If you’re referring to DBZ’s Goku, then no, he didn’t win a match. DBZ’s Goku may have been influenced by Wukong, but he is a separate character entirely. This win goes to the Monkey King, whose name is Son Goku in Japanese.

Many mythologies want us to forget that countless gods married their siblings, like Shinto and Egyptian mythos. I did recall that Heracles married 4 times, and thank you for clarifying that it was his 3rd wife that offed him with the venom in his clothes D: I always forget what happened to his second wife.

So Sun main reason for winning is Herc not having enough arrows to get rid of all Sun immortality & Sun having thousands of clones,so that is how the Hydra is able too defeat Sun,the Hydra has infinite poison & can have a infinite number of heads,the Hydra is immortal & Herc never actually killed it,just trapped it & in order to chop off the immortal head so he could trap it he needed a special sword gifted to him by the gods. This is how the fight would go Sun being Sun would get in close to see the Hydra,Sun would then be racked with agonizing pain due to the very breath the Hydra has being that poisonous,now you may wonder how did Herc get close to the Hydra,besides being known for his strength he is also known for his fortitude,okay back to fight,as Sun is in agonizing pain that would kill any mortal thing the Hydra strikes with multiple heads sinking it's teeth into his flesh filling him with it's poison,his immortality's being taken one after another,of course he would be frantic to escape & wildly lash out & probably bash apart on of the non immortal heads but then two more would take it's place. So Sun would be trapped by agonizing pain & the Hydra's many jaws & once after awhile all his immortality's is gone all that will remain is a bloody lump of poison. Vampires are immortal but they can be killed Werewolves are immortal they can be killed Demon's are immortal they can be killed etc... Things can die & have died due to extreme pain. It's literally something medical emergency has to deal with.

on the goku vs sun wukong thing it depends on which point in the novel we are using if its wukong in any point before he became a buddha he would loose if its when his already a buddha goku would not even touch him
I don't think he would lose at any point before he became a buddha either, He has more or less infinite strength because he LIFTED something that weighted infinite, Wukong is just as fast as goku is, has FAR more experience, a much larger arsenal and crafty spells goku isn't used to fighting against.

@@adam-dn3hi what are you smoking? Infinite zamasu couldn't be killed by goku or the others, they had to bring in the omni king, a literal reality warper to kill him permanently. Zamasu's body as a shell was corrupted cause one of the 2 zamasu's was mortal while the other was immortal, when he suitably merged with everything goku couldn't do anything which means he is NOT stronger then infinite zamasu, and there is nothing to say jiren is either. Sure they have shook the infinite void in the tournament of power, but that doesn't mean they could destroy it or effect it majorily which was what was needed to overcome zamasu.

@@adam-dn3hi Zamasu wasn't really that powerful damage wise. However, being unkillable and merged with the universe kind of makes you hard to beat. So, saying Jiren was more powerful doesn't mean he's fully superior to Zamasu, or that MUI is either. The fact that dragon ball fans automatically think being stated as "more powerful" also means "harder to beat" is a shame, considering how often earlier dragon ball emphasized techniques over pure power
this is gonna Be a total Squash Match for Sun Wukong I havent read the whole book or all the books but I know about a bunch of his feats and watched some cartoons and Movies and even though Heracles is strong the Monkey king is 500 times Immortal aswell as having reached enlightenment aswell as having removed his name from the ledger of the dead so his soul can never leave this plane and go to the underworld so he cant die ontop of being able to pretty much do whatever he wants from turning into an ogre randomly to speeding around the world in seconds to insane feats of strength like juggling mountains and shaking the heavens and hes jumped to the edge of creation and back in seconds the only one more powerful is the Buddha....I wonder if Death Battle will ever have a match with the Buddha against a Marvel Or Dc God like the One above all or the Presence
Not really, Son Goku has a limited amount of strength, if we take his strongest feat in base and then apply the super saiyan multipliers we can get his limit. Sun wukong had enough strength to lift 2 infinite mountains simultanously, while being nearly just as fast as goku at 1.4 quintillion times the speed of light, that added with sun's 1200 years of experience, incredibly varied number of spells that they didn't even mention in death battle like he can manipulate and control souls, change the weather, freeze time and stop anyone solid in their tracks, Wukong just has a lot of advantages over goku.
