Awesome, this is my dream vacation, go the entire length of the Mississippi. I grew up boating and fishing the Mississippi in the Guttenberg area. Great footage.
You guys are living the life, I've been keeping up with the series every time a new vid is up and I really respect what you guys do. WE'RE IN IOWA! Whaaaaat!?
I grew up in the Quad Cities. Love seeing those river scenes. 'Tis a great river! I read Chad Pegracke's book a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. Good man.
Bravo! I have now seen the entire series, from episode 1 to the end! I started in Gutenburg and made full circle. I am so thankful you guys documented this trip. Well done, worthy of public television! I forgot to mark each episode as liked, though I liked it immensely.
i have all kinds of great videos coming in to my subscriptions. everything from action to drama to comedy, and by far i love these videos the most. keep up the good work!
This might seem like a silly thing to notice, but I love your choice of music to set the atmosphere! Like when you got to the inn and the music got all swanky... I just love how much effort you put into these videos.
This series is awesome. When I was little I lived in Missouri just south of St. Louis and I could see the river from my house. If we see you paddle by Cape Girardeau I will be looking for my old hang out spots.
I've lived on the bank of the Ms. river my whole life and I'm jealous of what ya'll have done. I'm commenting just to say that sound wasn't a bird. It's a frog. Good video from Belle Chasse, La.
WHAT? This is the first time that you guys touched with other humans in town......AND NO PIZZA? lmao Kidding of course, keep up the good work of entertaining us! TYTYTY
Kind of strange how a tiny German town with the same spelling as a famous bible ended up with such a different way to pronounce the name of their city. Being born there but raised in Dyersville I've always wondered if it has to do with the difference between High and Low German? They were still teaching German as a 2nd language in this part of Iowa even while I was in grade school in the early 60's. My grandparents still knew how to speak both languages even though they were born and raised in the United States. They told me there were two different versions of German; High and Low and that they were very different. Most of the cities in a 25 mile radius have very German sounding names such as New Vienna, Luxemburg, Petersburg so I'm guessing a lot of immigrants from Germany established many of these places.
