I am a senior and I had one of their sales reps out to my house to give me a quote. He was so pleasant during a nice demonstration. When I started questioning if it would void my roof warranty and how they did not appear to fit properly on my gutters. That's when he turned really nasty and started trying to bully me to go ahead & just sign the paperwork. I stood my ground and kicked him off of my property 😅 thanks for exposing them and showing what a terrible company they are

Never back down. These guys go far. 2 years ago my brother and his wife bought their first house. These gutter guys came to him talking about gutter guards. He declined their offer of 7 grand to put up 20ft of gutter in a straight line. They went to the inspectors and told them it was city ordinance when it wasn't. Then they went to the actual city to force my brother to buy guards convincing them its good for the homes. So we went to home depot, bought everything, spent $300 and 6 hours and put up the gutters with guards myself. I 3D printed 30 "slides" for the guards and we screwed them down nicely. Got approved and here we are years later. Best part was getting calls from gutter guards that our stuff wasn't up to standards when it was. 😁 Point is, fight back against the tyranny of scammers.
@@slappy8941 There was, and we issued a formal complaint against the original inspectors. Cause we found out those inspectors were not from the city at all. The house was brand spanking new and my brothers first home purchase. We got advice from a septic man ytuber that we should get our own inspectors. And that's how we found out the original inspectors were bribed, because the reports were different as night and day. Those inspectors no longer work for that little town.
And this why I don't trust the government any more with housing regulations. Back when it was sensible "make sure it doesn't fall on you policies" it was fine, but now it's all brides and pay-offs to force home owners to use buy useless shit and conform to hoop-jumping stupidity.
we live in the middle of the woods surrounded by 100-150ft tall trees, 2+ years later our guards are still perfect. so if installed correctly they do work great. our entire cabin & garage were only around 600.

False advertising is telling someone "This new car has 50% more power than the last model", and it turns out it actually doesn't and drives like a piece of crap. Gutter Guard has a legit product that works and does what they say it does, so technically it's not false advertising.

The fact that you have to clean your gutters is ipso facto proof that their advertisement makes claims that are known to be not true about their product. Not sure where you are getting the idea that the product works. Did you not see all the debris in the gutters?

Now they are going to try to find some little law somewhere that let's them take him to court and have the videos brought down in the mean time. Then, since it will be a case they know they cannot win, they will use every stall tactic possible to keep the lawsuit ongoing to keep the videos down.

R & D costs money, especially when it comes to solving a problem that doesn’t really have a solution (sorry, but gravity makes things run down a slope, so debris is going to end up in m/on your gutters no matter what). It’s cheaper for them to dole out money and pay legal fees than it is to retool their entire production line.

Gutter guard used to call every now and then when I was little, and one day, they called after my dad and I had just gotten done cleaning our gutters out while putting up Christmas lights. I was only 5, but I was given the phone because I guess my parents wanted to see what I would say because kids on the phone is always hilarious and I told them we didn't need them because my dad and I could take care of the gutters by ourselves. I wasn't trying to be mean or anything. I just genuinely didn't know why we would need it when my dad and I always cleaned gutters together.
I used to go up and clean the gutters of my 85 year old neighbor that had these. They scammed him with these promises. Great to see someone is exposing this.
As someone who has worked for them in the past and has seen first hand the way they think about their clients. I'm thankful someone with a voice is finally telling the truth and isn't scared by their legal team. Most homeowners don't put up much of a fight

50milion views across all plataforms inst a couple clicks. I dont know about the other plataforms, but....if they were all on RU-vid on a niche that pays as low as 1$ per 1000 views, like the gaming market, then 50M would be 50k they offered even lower than he got from the views

They’re predatory, no doubt about it. I worked for Shine Window Care, we also did pressure washing, and I couldn’t say how many but a good majority of the gutter cleaning jobs I went to had guards. Oh and elderly folks.
50k is an insult. You know they're making WAAAY more than that. And even if you don't have morality, you should at least have business sense. These guys tried to scare you on the cheap. I do gutters as my day job, so let me just thank you for keeping these predatory practices from being any bigger of a leech on the industry than it already is. It ain’t a fun job to want to protect, but _nobody_ deserves to get screwed like these leafguard products are doing.
I do the same work. We tell people that we generally don't recommend guards, and that no matter what a salesman tells you, even if he believes it, there's no such thing as maintenance free gutter protection. All it does is protect the spouts and underground pipes from clogging while making maintenance cleaning easier. You WILL still have to periodically clean them. Generally, it's easier to just periodically have your gutters cleaned out. One benefit to having them cleaned is that problems with the gutter itself are actually noticed, because they're not hidden under the guards.
@@frikyouall Most of the time you can just brush them off, but if a mass of debris sits on it for too long, the "filter" part of the guards will be clogged with dirt, mildew, silt, etc. You'd have to wash those with a heavy spray, usually. Might have to take those sections down to clean them if it is too bad.

I called out the gutter cleaning industry for tricking people into uninstalling higher-end gutter guards and agreeing instead to more frequent cleanings. They offered me $75k to stop, but I refused on principle. Do I have proof? No, but same source as this guy: trust me, bro.

...74 here called a gutter guard people ... they wanted 8,500.00 ... the entire re roof cost less than 8,500.00 by the time we were done the price was down to $3,000.00 and a sign in the yard for a week ... go figure ? ...
we live in the middle of the woods in southern ky, two+ years later our guards are still perfect. in fact our front deck overlooks the garage, not one leaf on that guard and it was always stopped up bc of 100ft tall trees on two sides. so they do work if done correctly.
@@kinggzz well it also depends on what part of the country you’re in. The scam is them installing them in places that they should know it won’t work or where it would make the problem worse in a different way. Like around here it doesn’t get windy often and there’s pine trees everywhere. Perfect conditions for them to build up piles of pine needles on top of or in the gutters that turn to soil after a couple of months.
As a roofer myself for the past 32 years. I will never recommend gutter guards of any kind. Years ago when they first came to the market I bought into them. But after years of seeing the problems with them. I refuse to install them and I will not recommend them. Here in the northeast we have enough problems with ice dams already without adding to the problem. Ice and water barrier is a helpful deterrent but is not a cure all solution for ice dams. If you own a home. Then you have to accept the responsibility that you’re going to have to clean your gutters regularly and also remove the deep drifted snow from the bottom of your roof.
