I do a ton of jobs just like that one. The only way to get the miters to stop leaking is to clean it as well as you did. Otherwise it wont work. I also do a ton of gutter clean outs and the best tool for that is a margin trowel and 2-5 gallon bucket. It's picks up the granules and other junk like nothing else. You could use some kind of cleanser to help remove the old sealant, but, it would take a stronger solvent to loosen up old sealant. Using that might be more difficult up on the ladder. I'm not sure about using a heat gun to loosen it up. That would be a little easier to use up there on the ladder though. Thanks for watching and leaving the comment
